Its sad that Insta 360 X3 is available everywhere but insta 360 India official website. Why is it still showing "Available soon" ? even after it launched a month ago.
Show a bit of patience my brother, I had to wait a full month to get my hands on the Royal Enfield Scram 411 when it came out. We are still in the middle of a Pandemic and there are still logistics issues.

OK people - HELP. First I am going to be contacting Insta360 support next week (Monday) and ask what ways can I activate this camera. I would like to get this camera, but I am not going to buy another mobile phone just for use of this camera. I have a Motorola G Pure Android phone with latest version 12 android update software just installed today. I do not have the X3 camera at this time. My phone tells me that the Insta360 app is not compatible with my phone and I say WHY???? I had to download the Insta360 app from their website since it did not show up in Google Play app area. Be nice if I could activate it on my PC laptop, but that probably wouldn't work either. So anybody have any ideas how activate this Insta360 X3 camera other than a mobile phone???? This is ridiculous how they make this camera initially operate. So, What Android phones do work with this camera????? Not that i am going to buy another one. I am definitely not buying an expensive IPhone.

Why is there no warning that communication with the phone is mandatory??? Is it possible to disconnect the smartphone from the camera via the menu in the camera itself after activation? Will the camera ask for activation again? Let's say I activated the camera using a friend's phone. But I want to disconnect my friend's phone and not link other phones. Is it possible to do this with the camera itself? Will the indicator work when there is a connection with the phone app?

@@stehume Hi there, sorry for the confusion caused. As long as the camera has already been activated, X3 can work independently. You can shoot with the camera itself, then edit and share the clips through our computer software, Insta360Studio. It wouldn't ask for activation again. If you would like to disconnect the connection with another camera, you can click Disconnect in the app and forget the camera's password on the phone's Wi-Fi settings page. What Is the normal temperature for the isnta360 x3 camera? Today I unbox it and I start using it, recording in a static place (my office) after 15 minutes the temperature felt so high, I measured the heat, and the camera reached 54.7 Celsius in the back side, is it normal ? Or should I consider returning it ?

Great intro to this camera. I just unboxed this camera, activated & updated the firmware. After watching this video, I notice the video never mention about setting up the date & time on the camera. Wonder how do I set the date & time on this camera for time stamping on the video clips?
Spent two hours trying to get the camera to connect to the phones wifi and it has not worked. My Samsung phone does not pick up any wifi signal from the camera. Anyway, why is all this even necessary? Why do I have to go through these gymnastics just to get it operating? No other product I know has this nonsense attached to it? + The camera is excessively hot and I turned it off to three times just to let it cool down. It is not even filming! ++ No instruction book and have to watch RUclips tutorials where you even have the nerve to make us watch third party adverts. Really wish I had gone with GoPro.

I am wanting to mount the x3 on a single strut wing. I see lots of guys with these mounted that have double struts, is it possible to mount on a Cessna 170 strut? Also I have mounted a power box from FlightFlix in my wing, I had planned to run a GoPro with no battery and just run the power cable to the camera to eliminate over heating. Does the x3 have over heating issues? Can it be run with power but no battery? Is there a waterproof attachment to be able to run a power cable? Thanks in advance for your help

Yes, you can use a 5V/2A charger, but the charging speed will be slower. For the X3, I would recommend using a 5V/3A charger for better performance. Hope it helps!

As soon as I press the start button it starts recording, can't get to the menu. App will not find the device either. Frustrating to use depsite the high price since you spend time searching Google for answers to simple problems. The start or power button should just open the menu, not start recording. Just bad design.

I keep asking the following question in RUclips sites that discuss Insta 360 cameras- and fail to get a satisfying response: "How good is the 4K mode with the X3 camera, compared to a more expensive, non 360 camera- the type of cameras that many people use to make walking videos in cities and outdoors- and those other cameras often cost multi thousand dollars". I do watch many such videos- mostly in European cities where the person walks miles in the cities- some of the videos are in great outdoor sites. Those videos usually indicate that the video is shot in 4K or 8K and the quality is fantastic- with super sharp video- seemingly sharper than you could see with your own eyes. Of course I can't expect the X3 to be that good in 4K mode but unless I see some videos of the X3 in 4K mode I can't judge for myself. Some of the videos reviewing the X3 will show a few seconds of 4K video but not nearly enough to make that judgement. I wish somebody would shoot an entire video of at least several minutes with the X3 in 4K mode- walking in a city and in the countryside. I currently own a One X which I bought when it first came out. I'm very happy with it but I'd also like to shoot in 4K for a "walking" type video which is extra sharp. I'm hesitating buying the X3 until I can see how good the 4K is. Apparently those doing reviews of the camera feel it's not that important so they don't bother. If this comment is read by the people at Insta360, please reach out to RUclipsrs you know who do the reviews and ask them to make such a video. Thanks! PS: I suppose I could purchase the X3 then decide if I like the 4K video and if not, return it- but I don't like returning products. It's not really fair to the manufacturer.
How can I transfer the full size video from my X3 to my iPhone? When I export in album it only gives me the option for 1080p even though I shot inn 5.7K
If I edit a video on my phone, then export.. will the original video still be kept in its original form? I plan to shoot only in 360 mode, some videos I will want the full 360 mode and also edit the same video to reframe into single view mode. Will I be able to keep both versions of the same video? or will it overwrite once I export?

The temperature of the camera will naturally increase after a long time recording or downloading files. However, the camera’s overheating protection system will prompt a message and shut down the camera automatically if it gets too hot. When this happens, simply set the camera aside for a few minutes to let it cool down before recording again. With that said, we can help you check if there is a quality issue with the camera that causes it to overheat too quickly. In what situations does the camera overheat? How long are you able to record before it overheats?
Hi how do i watch the exported 360 video from the app as 360 on my ipad or iphone ?Coz when i tried to export it as 360 it did not look like a normal 360 where u can pan n look around. Hi there, For 360 videos, you can adjust the ratio to 16:9 or 9:16 (TikTok) within Insta360 App after shooting and then export them. For videos shot on Single-Lens Mode, both 16:9 and 9:16 are selectable on the screen when you adjust shooting parameters. Just give it a try!
Hi there, May we know if you mean the Auto option on the app album page? The Auto mode is only available for 360-degree videos with LRV files. The 360-degree videos of 4k50fps、4K60fps、3k100fps don't generate LRV files, so Auto mode doesn't show when you open them through Insta360 App.

I bought a camera like that and all the useless security kits. Without any damage, in 4 days the camera reversed the image and went crazy. Don't waste your money. Spend a little more and buy a Go Pro Max.

I am wanting to mount the x3 on a single strut wing. I see lots of guys with these mounted that have double struts, is it possible to mount on a Cessna 170 strut? Also I have mounted a power box from FlightFlix in my wing, I had planned to run a GoPro with no battery and just run the power cable to the camera to eliminate over heating. Does the x3 have over heating issues? Can it be run with power but no battery? Is there a waterproof attachment to be able to run a power cable? Thanks in advance for your help

Yes, you can use a 5V/2A charger, but the charging speed will be slower. For the X3, I would recommend using a 5V/3A charger for better performance. Hope it helps!

Hey the Insta360 app is not showing up in the playstore ?
As soon as I press the start button it starts recording, can't get to the menu. App will not find the device either. Frustrating to use depsite the high price since you spend time searching Google for answers to simple problems. The start or power button should just open the menu, not start recording. Just bad design.

I keep asking the following question in RUclips sites that discuss Insta 360 cameras- and fail to get a satisfying response:
"How good is the 4K mode with the X3 camera, compared to a more expensive, non 360 camera- the type of cameras that many people use to make walking videos in cities and outdoors- and those other cameras often cost multi thousand dollars".
I do watch many such videos- mostly in European cities where the person walks miles in the cities- some of the videos are in great outdoor sites. Those videos usually indicate that the video is shot in 4K or 8K and the quality is fantastic- with super sharp video- seemingly sharper than you could see with your own eyes. Of course I can't expect the X3 to be that good in 4K mode but unless I see some videos of the X3 in 4K mode I can't judge for myself. Some of the videos reviewing the X3 will show a few seconds of 4K video but not nearly enough to make that judgement. I wish somebody would shoot an entire video of at least several minutes with the X3 in 4K mode- walking in a city and in the countryside. I currently own a One X which I bought when it first came out. I'm very happy with it but I'd also like to shoot in 4K for a "walking" type video which is extra sharp. I'm hesitating buying the X3 until I can see how good the 4K is. Apparently those doing reviews of the camera feel it's not that important so they don't bother. If this comment is read by the people at Insta360, please reach out to RUclipsrs you know who do the reviews and ask them to make such a video. Thanks!
PS: I suppose I could purchase the X3 then decide if I like the 4K video and if not, return it- but I don't like returning products. It's not really fair to the manufacturer.

If I edit a video on my phone, then export.. will the original video still be kept in its original form? I plan to shoot only in 360 mode, some videos I will want the full 360 mode and also edit the same video to reframe into single view mode. Will I be able to keep both versions of the same video? or will it overwrite once I export?

Hi, there! We completely understand why you might be worried when your camera feels hot to the touch. The temperature of the camera will naturally increase after a long time recording or downloading files. However, the camera’s overheating protection system will prompt a message and shut down the camera automatically if it gets too hot. When this happens, simply set the camera aside for a few minutes to let it cool down before recording again.
With that said, we can help you check if there is a quality issue with the camera that causes it to overheat too quickly. In what situations does the camera overheat? How long are you able to record before it overheats?
Hi how do i watch the exported 360 video from the app as 360 on my ipad or iphone ?Coz when i tried to export it as 360 it did not look like a normal 360 where u can pan n look around. For 360 videos, you can adjust the ratio to 16:9 or 9:16 (TikTok) within Insta360 App after shooting and then export them. For videos shot on Single-Lens Mode, both 16:9 and 9:16 are selectable on the screen when you adjust shooting parameters. Just give it a try!
I don’t have the auto sensing option on my videos. How do I add that?

May we know if you mean the Auto option on the app album page? The Auto mode is only available for 360-degree videos with LRV files. The 360-degree videos of 4k50fps、4K60fps、3k100fps don't generate LRV files, so Auto mode doesn't show when you open them through Insta360 App.

I bought a camera like that and all the useless security kits. Without any damage, in 4 days the camera reversed the image and went crazy. Don't waste your money. Spend a little more and buy a Go Pro Max.
