There was a job I wanted that I didn’t expect to respond but did with a typing test in 48 hours. I really wanted the job so I pushed myself. I dove right in to all keys including top numerical and kept doing this as drills over and over from typing with fingers- it was no baby steps if you want it get it. In 24 hours of doing drills of all keys reaching over 40wpm I then moved on to paragraphs. This rapidly helped me memorize the keys. I then went to typing paragraphs after doing this 36 hours and could type 31 wpm and everyday have increased. I also tell myself I type 50 wpm. I will in a week! It takes practice and dedication I even dream of the placement of the keys. How bad do you want to excel? No I didn’t pursue the job because a better opportunity also reached out that I took but I kept typing because it is an essential skill to this age I finally realized especially since I go back to school this fall and don’t want to spend hours on one paper!

At that time, I typed seeing the keyboard and like 18 wpm. Now I don't see the keyboard anymore, I don't need it, I'm typing 40 wpm. I feel fascinated doing so. It's been 3 months. I practice 20 minutes a day

Wanna know the secret to type faster? What you need is rage. Yes rage, imagine yourself in a heated argument in a chat. Yes thats all you need and you'll be able to type faster without looking on your keyboard lol
I'm glad I decided to learn how to type properly. I don't know with others but, Typing also helped me in reading more comprehensively and it's like there is a dopamine rush in a good way.

I aspire to be like this... tbh the only thing I did to pass the typing test is that I memorize the words/sentences so that I would not have to look again on the paragraph assigned to be typed... but I still want to learn touch typing because I think this will make our work easier and efficient 😊

so my avg wpm is around 45-50 is that enough as a beginner ? i plan to improve of course as i intend to get into coding where being able to touch type would be a great help, I'm currently enrolled as a chat support agent in the process of training, trying to get used to the keyboards at work as I'm used to typing on my laptop where the keys don't take much force to actuate but i think that's something I'll get use to soon after a couple days-weeks
I got too over confident to myself since I "used" to always use computers before, I thought I can type 35 wpm, then I tested my typing skill using typing test online, and to my disappointment, I can only type 25 - 27 wpm 😥😓

Which app? The one that pronounces words? That wasn’t an app. I just typed the word on google and the first page result should show an audio you can play to hear the word’s pronunciation.

2-3 hours scattered throughout the day based on your schedule would be more than sufficient.
There are 7 lessons. Spend 2 days on each lesson and you’ll complete it in 2 weeks.

What can we do if we have to take a chat assessment in two days how long should I study ?
Try to study for 3 hours everyday but have a 5 min break in between every 25 mins of studying. It’s called space repetition. Hope this helps!
