There's also the fangs peaking out every so often that give away that she is a siren like the claws on the close up on her hand or the gills on her neck. Which are amazing levels of detail!!
I love Odysseus's initial reaction to seeing the Syrin was surprise/blushing and then breathing out to center himself before singing. Like, he probably expected a Syrin to impersonate Penelopy, but that doesn't stop him from having the visceral reaction of seeing his wife after all these years. And then needing to psych himself up for the emotional labor of pretending to believe it really is his wife and then kill her.

Also, I think Odysseus' "more than you know" to the siren is double-layered. Yes, that's how he'd respond to Penelope, but it's also the first (and only) warning the siren gets. Odysseus misses Penelope *more than the siren knows*

The moment Odysseus takes at the beginning to steady himself and you can see the gears turning in his head as he improvises the fear of the water. Those little moments make animations for me.
I love so many things about this animatic. The way he looks so enamored at the beginning and the way he reminds himself that it's not her, the dolphin daughter, the way Sirenelope's nails are more claws, the fact that Odysseus has a rope tied around his ankle, the way he drew back when Sirenelope got on the front of the ship, showing that he is actually afraid, his face at "From, I dunno, POSEIDON", of course his hair tuck, his little hand wring at "But can't you let me stay dry?", and then the abrupt color shift as Odysseus pulls out his bow. Amazing job, and I look forward to any future animatics you create!

The way Odysseus subtly isn't buying the siren's charade as his wife by the way he expresses his discomfort with body language is neat but it's telling he is glad to see a vision of his wife in a way. Both the Siren and Odysseus are playing the same game. Both trying to lead their prey to their deaths and are using each other for their own means. The Siren is just trying to figure out how to get Odysseus in the water by any means with the glint betraying her true nature as she is getting more and more frustrated with his reluctance. While Odyseeus's leg is tied up alluding to the original story but also to keep him grounded and to get the information home and the switch he does once he gets at 2:28. The reveal with the lighting and his own glint! The detail man!!!

This is my favorite animatic that I’ve seen so far for this song! Odysseus is a smug king but you can still see moments of genuine emotion, like when he first sees Penelope, as well as her getting increasingly frustrated that odyesseus won’t get in the water already, and I love all the silly little details!

This is so cute. I love the expressions especially the siren's little-too-wide smile and the little "oh shit"-face she makes when Ody tells her that he's afraid of the water and all of Ody's expressions. Also love the fact that Ody is so in love with his wife that even as a siren she's the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. That kida lost looking and blushing face really does the job to show us how much he misses his wife. And of course the dolphin daughter had me dying. But it's actually really smart. She is so confident that the siren song already has Ody under her spell so why bother trying to find a more human-looking one. The siren song has always worked, so why wouldn't it work now. And my favorite moments in every single one of these animations are always the part where Ody explains his situation to the siren (also the way the siren looks so bored and gets startled in this one) and the "you know I'm too shy and terrified" and also the way the siren gets so annoyed putting up with Ody. Another thing that I love is the fact that both the siren and Ody have their moments when they look scary. Ody is seen smiling sinisterly multiple times and in my opinnion the siren's smile is always kinda terrifying. They both are trying to use the other person for their personal needs (siren wants to kill Ody, Ody wants to know how to get home). I also love the way she used water when she was telling Ody what he has to do. And I love the way Ody moves back a little when she comes on to the ship. In conclusion, I love everything about this animation. Thank you.

How the siren didn’t catch that Ody’s asking Penelope-who should ALREADY be home-how to GET home is an unintended but nice touch. She’s so focused on getting to eat Ody and the crew that she doesn’t see that as a strange inquiry. Again, I’m sure it’s unintended, but it makes Ody’s taunt in Different Beast ring a bit better.

So many beautiful details in this animatic. Even though he knows the siren will likely take her shape, for a moment when she first transforms Odysseus can't help but soften for a moment seeing Penelope's face. The Sirens twitches of anger whenever Odysseus feints away from getting into the water, and then the shift from Odysseus helpless act in the moment between song shifts.
I love the expressions in this so much! From the beginning, you can see Odysseus doesn't believe the siren and is just playing along with her game while the siren is just barely concealing her maliciousness in order to trick Odysseus.
At first, I was expecting like just “sassy Odysseus” until the freaking dolphin daughter got on screen! The moment Odysseus takes at the beginning to steady himself and you can see the gears turning in his head as he improvises the fear of the water. Those little moments make animations for me.

I love so many things about this animatic. The way he looks so enamored at the beginning and the way he reminds himself that it's not her, the dolphin daughter, the way Sirenelope's nails are more claws, the fact that Odysseus has a rope tied around his ankle, the way he drew back when Sirenelope got on the front of the ship, showing that he is actually afraid, his face at "From, I dunno, POSEIDON", of course his hair tuck, his little hand wring at "But can't you let me stay dry?", and then the abrupt color shift as Odysseus pulls out his bow.

The way Odysseus subtly isn't buying the siren's charade as his wife by the way he expresses his discomfort with body language is neat but it's telling he is glad to see a vision of his wife in a way. Both the Siren and Odysseus are playing the same game. Both trying to lead their prey to their deaths and are using each other for their own means.
The Siren is just trying to figure out how to get Odysseus in the water by any means with the glint betraying her true nature as she is getting more and more frustrated with his reluctance. While Odyseeus's leg is tied up alluding to the original story but also to keep him grounded and to get the information home and the switch he does once he gets at 2:28. The reveal with the lighting and his own glint! The detail man!!!

Omg finally, you included what I was dying to see in an animatic of this song: Ody's first reaction to seeing his "wife". He knew it wasn't her, but the very first time he saw her, it must have been so hard. Because it was the first time he saw her face again after "12" long years (lol)... This is my favorite animatic that I’ve seen so far for this song! Odysseus is a smug king but you can still see moments of genuine emotion, like when he first sees Penelope, as well as her getting increasingly frustrated that odyesseus won’t get in the water already, and I love all the silly little details!

This is so cute. I love the expressions especially the siren's little-too-wide smile and the little "oh shit"-face she makes when Ody tells her that he's afraid of the water and all of Ody's expressions. Also love the fact that Ody is so in love with his wife that even as a siren she's the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. That kida lost looking and blushing face really does the job to show us how much he misses his wife. And of course the dolphin daughter had me dying. But it's actually really smart. She is so confident that the siren song already has Ody under her spell so why bother trying to find a more human-looking one. The siren song has always worked, so why wouldn't it work now. And my favorite moments in every single one of these animations are always the part where Ody explains his situation to the siren (also the way the siren looks so bored and gets startled in this one) and the "you know I'm too shy and terrified" and also the way the siren gets so annoyed putting up with Ody.
Another thing that I love is the fact that both the siren and Ody have their moments when they look scary. Ody is seen smiling sinisterly multiple times and in my opinnion the siren's smile is always kinda terrifying. They both are trying to use the other person for their personal needs (siren wants to kill Ody, Ody wants to know how to get home).
I also love the way she used water when she was telling Ody what he has to do. And I love the way Ody moves back a little when she comes on to the ship.
In conclusion, I love everything about this animation. Thank you.

How the siren didn’t catch that Ody’s asking Penelope-who should ALREADY be home-how to GET home is an unintended but nice touch. She’s so focused on getting to eat Ody and the crew that she doesn’t see that as a strange inquiry. Again, I’m sure it’s unintended, but it makes Ody’s taunt in Different Beast ring a bit better.

So many beautiful details in this animatic. Even though he knows the siren will likely take her shape, for a moment when she first transforms Odysseus can't help but soften for a moment seeing Penelope's face. The Sirens twitches of anger whenever Odysseus feints away from getting into the water, and then the shift from Odysseus helpless act in the moment between song shifts.
