I really, really adore how BOTH Ody and Tele are crying and it’s not shown as weak or stupid. Having Ody be able to release his emotions with such vulnerability and Telemachus to see the tender side of his father after having just slaughtered the suitors. The art style is so good and now I have to go cry 😭

I love how Telemachus still looks boyish/teenage aged. He’s only 20, not that old, and it creates a nice contrast between him and the hardened Odysseus. That’s his little boy!

The fact that the first time Telemachus sees his father he has a spear at the very beginning then he recognizes him and he drops the spear…….I think that’s just so perfectly right, ody just appears out of nowhere in the song before he didn’t know if ody was going to hurt him or kill him so he grabbed a spear and hid in the corner and now he is with the one person he never knew but knew him his entire life…….I’m sobbing harder then I ever have before with this animatic. 🥹

Ody is so happy to see his kid, and he wants nothing more than to just hug him, but he knows that this is so much for a person to go through... so rather than be forceful with the hug, he invites Telemachus into the embrace. That makes it to where Telemachus can, at his own pace, jump into his father's arms. Also small detail, Telemachus looks a lot like Penelope in my designs, so Odysseus is silently swooning, "he takes after his mother..." while all this is happening

All these while, in his father's absence, he has all these thoughts and what ifs. One being wonder if his father will treat him as his own son or a total stranger after 20 years being away from home. This song gets me so emotional every time I listen to it, and you've animated it beautifully! Odysseus' and Athena's reunion is especially touching - you show how bittersweet it's meant to be. That Odysseus don't begrudge her anything, that even though he can't be part of her new world he wishes her well in making it. It's just amazing! Well done!

The last two songs were amazing at capturing what this emotion would feel like to a father or a son going through this and Would You Fall in Love With Me Again did too, but I didn't allow myself to feel sad. Love the focus on the small movements of feet inching away and toward and Telemachus drawing in on himself with fear before rushing forward and the cut from baby to adult Telemachus and them crying!!! Love the swirl of the feather and Odysseus cunning narrowed eye before he turns fully to Athena. I like also that he smiles while speaking to her; it makes him look more bemused and paternal. This is amazing!! Love the focus on the small movements of feet inching away and toward and Telemachus drawing in on himself with fear before rushing forward and the cut from baby to adult Telemachus and them crying!!! Love the swirl of the feather and Odysseus cunning narrowed eye before he turns fully to Athena. I like also that he smiles while speaking to her; it makes him look more bemused and paternal. The closeup on his scarred hand!!!! Thanks so much for making and posting this animatic!
