The most important thing of all of the parts on them chevy trucks or gmc is the cross members under the box they are always what rusts out first Always.
this technique is for areas of the country with no snow. Note the palm trees???? It looks good but would be a disaster in the north because it would trap the salt under the coating.
All we have to do up north is scuff it up wipe it down coat with a lanolin based rust protectant. No need for this other than cosmetics. And if you don't rust proof it correctly your right it will trap it all in and cause more rust.
If you seal the rust in with an enamel paint I think that would be superior I've seen guys test out enamel paints they last longer than anything else. Even longer than undercoats that don't adhere.
@@WesternReloader motor oil mixed with grease.. get a spray siphon and hook to air compressor and blast away.. I recommend doing this at your neighbors house unless you use plastic and a old comforter to catch it
Tell me how driveshafts are painted, powder coated and wrapped every single day without a problem. Tell me how I’ve been driving with it for over a year without a problem. LMAO
@@AaronCates probably don't notice it with large mud tires. And if you look under any stock truck, either they are coated before balance, natural aluminum or straight steel which will surface rust. Talk to a driveline shop expert or email AAM about it. I'm sure your way smarter than them.... LMFAO
Been on for over a year with no problems at all, but I’m just some kid, sorry must have forgot that. Thank you for your time viewing my video. Have a good night.

You can dilute purple power up to 10 to 1 to make it last longer.
1 yr follow up video!!? A "part 2" could DOUBLE your views! ;-)
I’ve read some undercoatings are rubber and hold moisture. Is this one?
It's been almost a year, how has it held up??
Being 100% honest, not terrible. Has chipped off in a couple spots but 90% of the truck is still covered.
@@AaronCates thanks for info, good video👌
Thank you!

Thanks for the video! You did a great job on the video and the truck.
What store did you buy the undercoat from
With purple power you should mix it 10 to 1 cause that stuff will dry out the rubber parts an them body lift pucks
You sure that ain’t grizzly?
Looks much better
Wire wheel on a grinder !
Hey Aaron where did you find that undercoat at man witch store if you don’t mind me asking
Got it from Walmart.
Us wisconsinites: thaaaaaaats cuuuuutteee
How long did that stuff take to dry? I tried it and it's like cake frosting after 5 hours
Navajo Hercules it only took mine 30 minutes tops. Maybe try lighter coats?
Thanks man. Nice truck
Navajo Hercules thank you
Depends on humidity and temperature where you are. Dryer and hotter air = faster paint drying.
Don't use a bedliner product for undercarriage...it will rust your vehicle worse by trapping moisture...just RUclips bedliner undercoating problems
What do you recommend?
Aaron Cates rust reformer
Hunter Wuesthoff what about cheap black paint?

Dont think it's safe for your shocks to hold in those coil springs...
I have no clue what you’re talking about, the shock isn’t holding anything in.
The coil spring looks like it is riding against the body of the shock tube.
It’s not though, just how gm designed it.
I feel like he's constantly spitting on me as he talks and it's a little uncomfortable how close he appears because of the camera distance.
How's that unbalanced driveshaft? LMAO. You don't paint much less bedliner or undercote a driveshaft. They are balanced.

Says the guy mad on the internet about spray paint on a driveshaft. But sorry forgot I knew everything already.

Fing palm trees what do 7 now about harsh weather conditions, fucking 20 below zero cold in my book so 70 stop bitching soft .
Do not do this! rubberized coating will trap moisture and rust worse. Instead apply fluid film once a year.
