One thing: chemicals that break up dust and grime etc... are also braking up your skin and lungs over time. So to make yourself last as long as your truck, you have to protect yourself (gloves! Facemask!)

after cleaning id recommend if you have a box frame using 3m cavity wax and spraying that inside the boxed areas and anywhere theres an over lap then use that or fluid film but before all of that id use por 15 on any rust starting after you wire brush the loose stuff off then use like a rustoleum paint to paint it all then after thats done as routine maintenance id use the cavity wax and fluid film i have a tacoma and the frame looks new i also have a 73 f250 highboy and the underneath looks new on that and i live in pa in the salty road area of the united states that truck was a frame up restoration tho it did have sone rust but i didnt own it from new its rust free now

Found someone just like me only my vehicles are a Sprinter van and Subaru STi. Lots of advantages in getting underneath and cleaning, can see early evidence of leaks, wires/hoses rubbing or not supported properly, and obviously keeping clean is best for corrosion prevention. There is a lot of engineering under our vehicles and most of it is well done. It’s very satisfying to keep it clean if you have time.

I actually take it a step further, I coat with fluid film and let it sit for a couple months.. the fluid film creeps into the cracks and crevices… then I clean and wipe all the fluid film off all the main surfaces and coat with WD-40!

Another way to help prevent rust especially if you live in the Rust belt! Is clean the underside then treat it with fluid film. The stuff is amazing! I have a 2012 Ram 2500 and a 2001 GMC Yukon XL both have dealt with Pennsylvania and New York salt and that nasty liquid they spray in the bridges that eventually eats away at the steel beams holding the bridges up! That's why some have collapsed. This wt 😔 will eat your vehicle Alive no matter how clean 😔 you keep it . If you use Fluid film just make sure to keep up the maintenance treatments you don't need a lot once it twice a year, if you don't it slowly wears away and exposes the metal. When I take my vehicles into inspection they are always scratching their heads Wondering why an SUV with 335000 miles on it isn't in the scrap yard? Neither vehicle has any rust. I'm in Sturgis right now a local guy asked how I keep my RAM so nice looking his jaw hit the ground when I said its a 2012 😀👍 I'm just as OCD maybe more than you. I want my stuff to last as long as possible especially the Ram since I retired and I'm permanently towing my 5th wheel "Home" around the country.

Do you know what’s in it? Is it a silicone based product like SC1?

What paint did you use to get your frame and other steering components so glossy in the first place. Anything like
    POR 15 or Rustoleom?

Honestly I thought I had somebody that had ADD , just as bad as me . I can't believe you haven't already bought a undercarriage sprayer put to a power sprayer. Depending on the undercarriage sprayer you can save you a lot of time. Especially if you don't live in the rust belt. As far as spraying WD-40 on the under carriage . You're better off buying a gallon WD-40 and buying a cheap harbor freight pump sprayer. I have a 2004 f350 Harley Davidson crew cab with four captains chairs. This truck spent 14 years out west. When I bought it it came with $12k in receipts in motor work 20k mi ago. It's never had a tune still had the stock intake and exhaust. The only thing I've done so far is put a 2-inch leveling kit on the front an 1-in blocks in the back . Plus a 4-in stainless steel turbo back to a muffler splits in the duals. So I could run 35 on the stock rims , but probably could get away without the lift but I got mud flaps and I know they would rub . It has a 136k mi the motor work was done 16k mi ago . I have $20k in the truck with the mods I've added

My truck looks 100x worse in 2 days of driving in Minnesota. Try to keep your truck from rusting for one winter where I live, I dare you. I wash my car 2x a week and perform a full clean, grind, paint routine every spring and my truck is still suffering.

In Australia we use Lanotec to clean seal and protect our 4x4’s. After going through salt water and mud when we get back home putting your truck over a sprinkler will clean most areas. Putting a hose through your chassis rails will keep them clear to permit them to drain. Removing stone guards is a must.

First your level of detail is amazing! I feel the same way but you also live in California. Nothing rusts there. I live in Michigan, my underbody gets good anti corrosive and flushes all the time. I wish I could do what you do, but it would never be practical with our winters and no use trying to get off the anti corrosion inhibitors just for the summer. Great Job!

How long did this take you? Obviously filming adds some time and not everyone will go through all the steps but curious to how long it took.

Without filming, doing this typically takes me about 6 hours or so? It all kinda depends how crazy you get with it!

Hey nice work. Do you clean or flush out the inside of the rockers and cab corners ?
They rust out from inside out.
Then you can spray a rust proofing product like Blaster Surface Shield inside coating walls and pinch welds.

Damn how does your undercarriage look so damn fresh. Even with dirt on ot it looks like you just bought it. The paint on the frame hasn't deteriorated at all. I guess you said how but I still don't believe it lol
