Actually, there is a couple of spots that comes to mind, and it is the giant fish skeleton on the beach, where the fisherman is saved. And at first glance it looks like the desert or the side of a mountain and in BoTW I always thought they were being cheeky with sly references.
@@HyruleGamer April Fool's Day is just around the corner! ;) Famous locations of Wand of Gamelon would make a pretty good light-hearted video for the holiday.
"Oh no, the ocean is too salty for us to handle... We must climb to the mountains and flap our arms until we inevitably evolve into birds." - the Zora probably Jokes aside, the Zora evolving into Rito makes a LOT more sense when you take into account they need Valoo's scale to gain their wings. There was likely some form of magic involved with their evolution into birds.
the great sea is barren of life, no fish for the zora who primarily eat fish. I don't remember where exactly is says that, but i do remember that being a thing.
I love Wind Waker's locations for the ambiguity of them, with them still being iconic. On that front, in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Lurelin Village looks almost exactly like Outset Island in terms of its architecture and geography. Also, I like the idea that the Forbidden Woods are the Kokiri Forest taken over by nature, and I also like to think that the Tower of the Gods is a precursor to the Sheikah and Zonai shrines.
TWW's mountaintop islands premise always seemed absurd to me given the design of OoT's map. (Or really given the designs of any previous maps in the series, aside from maybe AoL's map.) Because most previous map designs just didn't create super mountainous terrain. There would have been one peak to retreat to. Death Mountain. No others. But now BotW kinda establishes a new canon within which all the old maps would have to be retconned as being mostly inaccurate anyway but it would provide enough mountainous terrain for something like TWW's premise to be somewhat more plausible. (Although even then I think a far more likely scenario than what TWW presented would be something where the dam holding in the vast reservoir near Zora's Domain breaks and all of that water rages down all the riverways and washes over most of the land throughout the field area of Hyrule. Mountain ranges exist in a ring almost all the way around that field area so they'd define the boundaries of whatever (shallow?) sea that could form from such a flood. Possible outlets to drain the flood waters if more comes out than seems to even be contained within the reservoir to begin with would be the Menoat River, Lanayru Bay, and perhaps even Tanagar Canyon.) I mean, the Great Plateau is meant to be the walls and contents of OoT's Hyrule Castle Town (what BotW calls the "Eastern Abbey" is the ruins of OoT's castle) but the gate faces northeast now instead of facing south like OoT's map depicted it. BotW gave us ruins meant to resemble Lon Lon Ranch (however that would've survived countless tens of thousands of years) located roughly northeast from that gate consistent with how OoT had it located roughly south from the gate, and the Deku Tree is located further out in roughly that same direction as well. But then somehow OoT's map did get some things correct according to BotW's version of things despite this rotation of those few parts of OoT's story. Lake Hylia is true south. Gerudo Desert is true west. Death Mountain is true north. Zora's Domain is still (roughly) southeast of Death Mountain. The roads to get to those areas just aren't connected to the main field area in the same way that OoT depicted them. You'd turn right on your way out of the gate to head across the field towards the bridge that leads into the path that leads to the desert according to OoT, but the BotW canon is that you'd actually turn left and follow the plateau wall around until it turns a corner and you reach the multi-bridged pass that leads into the path that leads to the desert. The main palace is also a whole thing. I've had the impression for years (though it might be more speculation and not so much supported by any significant evidence?) that TP's palace / capital city originally started out as TMC's castle and has existed as its own separate thing from OoT's castle the whole time. It should have been present during OoT's time but we just didn't see it there since it wasn't used in the story. Granted, TotK throws this into question since we're now meant to assume that so much time passes in between the older games and the backstories for BotW and TotK that all traces of the versions of Hyrule in the older games became myths and the kingdom ceased to exist and was forgotten for some time until TotK's Rauru and Sonia founded the newest version of it. The palace / capital city location in BotW / TotK clearly seems meant to be the same location as TP's palace / capital city, but I guess we are meant to assume that it got destroyed at some point in the mythical times and the TotK backstory version of the Imprisoning War by coincidence happened on that site and then a new palace was built on top of that site. And they just happened to mimic the same style as the long lost palace and capital city that used to be there? And TP has its own map oddities anyway. Even before we saw BotW's version of things it's always seemed like the TP map got Death Mountain and Zora's Domain swapped from where they ought to be. In terms of BotW's map it seems that TP placed Zora's Domain in what we see in BotW as the flattest and most featureless part of the Hebra province, and it seems that TP placed Death Mountain right in the center of what we see in BotW as Zora's Domain. And putting a few things from TP in terms of BotW's layout it seems like in TP's time what we know in BotW as the Forest of Spirits (on the plateau) and the Forest of Spirits (east of the plateau) were blended together as one forest which bypassed the wall of the plateau. Also, what TP presented as a small wooden bridge over a narrow ravine that's on the way out of Ordon Village would actually be a massive downplay of passing over BotW's Lake Hylia bridge, and then Ordon Village would've been somewhere around what is the Highland Stable in BotW. And then what is TP's Lake Hylia? The positioning of it seems like maybe it'd line up with what we see in BotW as the Sage Temple Ruins, the shallow flooded area next to a part of the Regencia River.... Or perhaps something even closer to the palace than that, like the Quarry Ruins. And at the end of it all even the BotW/TotK map could still be thrown out by some new game in the future anyway. With the sky islands premise touched upon in SS, TMC, TP, and TotK (some cases present some sort of technological mechanism and some cases present it as pure magic) there's no guarantee against map-changing shenanigans altering the landscape occasionally. Some forces somewhen deep within the massive gaps in time between games, just lifting random areas up as sky islands for whatever reasons or bringing random sky islands to the ground for whatever other reasons and having them end up somewhere that might be different from where they originated. Imagine a scenario where perhaps at some point Hyrule goes through some disaster on a similar level as Lorule's erosion into the abyss underlying the fabric of its reality, and perhaps in this hypothetical scenario the only way to save the land is to lift it all up and away from the corruption. Perhaps it's more a case of something like the Gloom or Malice on steroids absolutely flooding the TotK depths to the point that it's overflowing? (Not little puddles of the stuff on the ground. More like an ocean of the stuff.) Peeling all the land up exposes the depths to the light in an attempt to purify it? And then after everything's cleaned up, stuff gets brought back down to reassemble the surface world. But this series wouldn't even necessarily spell out such an explanation, they might just change things without explanation and leave it up to speculation whether there is an explanation or whether we just had incorrect information to begin with. Oof, I tried to keep it short but rambled quite a bit anyway. Quite the messy subject here.
The whole Dragon Roost Island being Zora's Domain thing is weird, especially since it matches up with Death Mountain perfectly with the cloud ring around the volcano's peak, the presence of bomb flowers, Valoo being a clear reference to Volvagia, and Dragon Roost Cavern being an homage to both Dodongo's Cavern and Death Mountain Crater from OoT. My personal theory is that earlier in the game's development, the Gorons were supposed to inhabit Dragon Roost Island and the Rito would inhabit Greatfish Isle, but after the Greatfish Isle dungeon was scrapped they moved the Rito to DRI the Gorons were demoted to just being traveling merchants. It never really made sense to me why, if the Rito were evolved Zora, their guardian deity was Valoo rather than Jabun.
if i recall correctly valoo was a deity of the sky also i think the third sage the one with the flute and also the one that got cut was going to be links sister she seems like shes supposed to be important but she drops out of the story after being saved only having a few letters to show that they are alive and well also jabun is probably the guardian deity of the fish people found across hyrule the only people shown to survive in ethereal water proof that its not normal is that link cant drown in water that is not from the sea
The only problem being the location of spectacle rock/island. In OOT spectacle rock was inside death mountain for some reason. The placement of spectacle rock in WW actually lines up nicely with the original LoZ and LttP. Making Dragon Roost Island more akin geographically to Turtle Rock from LttP (or some other entirely different location).
@@bagofshhhspectacle rock is a land mark that changes location from game to game its an iconic landmark but its not as usable as a location like death mountain that stays in the same location also spectacle island does not line up with a link to the past spectacle rock its too far west
Yeah it's a bit strange to exclude it. It holds a massive mystery. The Shiekah relic you find underneath, the random teacher who just owns the island, and the fact she just traded a random child the island for some necklaces. That's not to mention the wooden butler that seems to be alive, and the creepy puzzle that somehow pictures the booger kid that is many miles away, unconnected to the situation at all.
Maybe BotW gives us a potential hint, they could be early Yiga symbols. Before they changed to the upside down eye. Of course that would require a version of the Yiga we haven't heard of to both form and disappear again between Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker.
Could also be that in the time since Ganondorf was sealed, the Royal family had the Sheikah invade the Gerudo lands and attempt to wipe them out or arrest them as well for their relations to Ganondorf. Some real police state stuff, but we don't see Gerudo in the adult timeline (to my knowledge)
I wonder if after ganon is defeated , forsaken fortress is turned into a settlement. It has plenty of infrastructure to support a decent size population and shipping port too.
Nintendo needs to rerelease wind waker on the switch. Twilight princess too. They should also release the four swords trilogy as well and make a new four swords game in the style of tears of the kingdom. Spirit tracks needs a sequel. Also conclude the hero of time trilogy.
That's a big wishlist. Maybe on the Double Switch. And hopefully the Double Switch is backwards compatible. And has the same emulators available as the Switch 1 at least, and rippers can make them available
Video contents aside, I just wanna commend you for that dope introduction! Not enough RUclipsrs do the intro, let alone acknowledge the audience to focus on the video by "getting a snack."
This was my first Zelda game!! I remember the music of Windfall, running around on Dragonroost and observing the Rito, battling through the dungeons (The harder Tower of The Gods puzzles gave me SO much trouble, lol) and the cutscene of Link first leaving Outset island that still tugs at the heartstrings. I legit almost cried when we went back to Outset later and found out how poor grandma was doing without Nerill there to look after her. Growing up playing this game, i spent so many long weekends sitting in my living room trying to solve this thing and explore wherever I could. The fairy islands were by far my favorite music, as well as Windfall's soundtrack. I love you Wind Waker, and Toon Link (as silly as he is) will always be my all-time favorite of the Heros. ❤😊
24:36 I think you got that wrong. Koroks are NOT the "evolution" of the Kokiri. The Kokiri were the human form of the spirits of the Woods. But now those spirits take the form of Koroks. Kokiri and Koroks are the same shapeshifting spirits; not an evolution. The Great Deku Tree says in the game, "Once upon a time, long ago, the Koroks took on human forms, but when they came to live on the sea, they took these shapes."
"version of Ocarina of Time's Gohma" - Gohma is a reoccurring boss that first appeared in the original NES Zelda game's Dungeon 6 (Dragon) and as a miniboss in Dungeon 8 (Lion). Since then Gohma has appeared in many other Zelda games. In Link's Awakening, two Gohmas are the Guardians of Dungeon 5 (Catfish's Maw), with the Ocarina of Time Gohma being the third appearance of this monster in the games. (They also appeared a few times in the cartoon and on the CD-I.)
I like to believe that the cry of the ghost ship that happens when you recieve the shard before forcing you out is the cry of the Volleys you fight in phantom hourglass, and the ghost ship changed between games because the lack of triforce shard, and also the encounter with the hero of winds forced an evolution of the ship to take place in between games in order to protect itself better.
Fun Fact: Actual fish can adjust to salt or fresh water by changing the salinity of the water slowly over a period of time. You can make any fresh water fish into a saltwater fish and vice versa.
Its been years since I personally played this game, but the several moments still stick out in memory. Being launched out via a barrel was utterly unexpected and super funny. Dragon Roost island for its lore and noted epic music. And my personal top pick, seeing what is left of Hyrule Castle come to life.
The flag of the monsters (in the Forsaken Fortress or in the dice islands) looks like a subrosian. However, I guess it's more likely to be a Moblin nose. The Shrines in BotW and the Tower of Gods have a lot in common: testing the Hero, have constellations on the walls, raising from the ground/water, is known by the royal family, has a lot of blue and robots/technology. A detail that escaped from kid me, Windfall Island is boat-shaped.
Is it possible that the Tower of the Gods is this timeline's version of the Light Temple/Temple of Time? It was fairly close to the castle in Ocarina of Time, and in Twilight Princess you have to ascend a pretty tall tower to reach the Dominion Rod. Plus, both locations involve moving statues from room to room to progress through the dungeon! Id love to hear your thoughts on this
i know many zelda theorists hate the dreaded z word, but the tower of the gods really reminds me of zonai aesthetics. i mean the boss would fit right in with the constructs in tears of the kingdom. we know they have some relation to the sheikah and to hylia, so maybe they was some earlier predecessor to the zonai that built it.
While I do believe the Hyrule of the Era of Wilds is a different one than earlier games, I do believe that Rauru named it after the previous kingdom. One he may have actually been familiar with even though it would have been millennia since the events of any of those games. The idea that the Zonai existed during the original timeline is fine with me.
My theory about the tower of the gods is that when they made the plea to the gods to flood the land, the gods actually built it (and the triangle islands) specifically for the purpose of guiding the Hero back to the castle.
Outset Island is also one of the four locations marked on the map Tingle gives you after you bust him out of prison. What could he possibly want with your home island? Well, your island actually has something in common with one of the others, in that it is the home of a Great Fairy, and specifically, both of those Great Fairies are the ones that upgrade your wallet capacity. He wants you to "have deep pockets", as that one Fishman says, so you can pay for him to make your Triforce Charts become readable. (And, of course, the other two locations are Windfall Island and Tingle Island. After all, if you can't find him, you can't pay him, right?) How many Zelda dungeons are dungeons according to the real-world definition, anyway? We have places like the Arbiter's Grounds and the Spirit Temple, of course, but WW's dungeons are mostly Temples. And a fortress. Some prison cells in the FF, one of which is where you're taken if spotted during the stealth portion and the other of which is where the long-eared girls are held, as well as in both Temples, which is where the new Sage is taken if (when, in the case of Makar) caught by a Floormaster. But nothing in WW is completely a prison. BotW makes me wonder if Rito who come of age also had to shoot the dragon with an arrow to get a scale, or if it just scratched one of itself and handed it over, or what. Let's see, what other interesting locations are there... I suppose maybe the aforementioned temples... the Cabana, of course... Mother and Child Isles... Diamond Steppe Island kind of suggests something happening...
I will never forget my first playthough of WindWaker. And seeing the Ghostship for the first type during the eternal night rush to Outset after getting the bombs. Absolutely terrified me. And honestly made me think I was actually racing the pirates to get the final pearl. I found out later of course that the Ghostship was not connected to the pirates, and it was only an odd chance that I was going through the eternal night on a cycle that I would pass it going from Windfall to Outset. But still very cool.
Thank you for another video! I love your content ❤ Wasn’t until I was an adult that I appreciated this game (rage quit on Dragon Roost Island during the dungeon when I was a kid) Look forward to listening to this 😁
23:45 I personally am of the idea that the Koroks are actually the "true form" of the kokiri, and they were only little kids in OoT to help Link feel like he belonged. So as Link grew up and the world was flooded, the Kokiri shed their human disguises
I want to say it's more that the younger Deku Tree created the Koroks while his father, the original Deku Tree, created the Kokiri, but there's nothing that suggests they're immortal.
About the Zora I think the Oracle games have stated that the friendly ones first seen in ocarina are sea zora while the ones that are enemies in earlier games are river Zora despite them being found in both environments and they are using this for echoes of wisdom anyway, the Zelda encyclopedia does explain that the waters of the great sea aren’t normal illusionary or something. The point is only monsters and those map makers fish can swim in it. That’s why the zora evolved into the rito
and here i was thinking wed actually hear about the "other" islands that are in the game, not the same ones EVERYONE talks about ALL THE TIME... cause thats where the people are. but i wanna know about the reef islands, or the ice/volcano islands, or the mini-golf island. those are far more interesting than the places with people because the people tell you what you want to know about the place (for the most part) so really all the "juicy" lore is just... there... in the game. this is under the assumption one can actually read. what is NOT in the game is the LORE on the OTHER 42 islands. kudos for covering the ghost ship as it isnt an "island". and technically, tower of gods isnt an island. and whilst being under the sea, hyrule castle is still "technically" an island. and before ANYONE says anything i KNOW the video is on famous locations. this is to test if anyone actually reads. the point, is that windwaker is full of islands that dont get talked about. the ones HG is covering in this vid is in fact the FAMOUS islands/locations, because, well... everyone talks about those since those are basically the "game". in a way this vid is just a recap of everywhere you MUST go in windwaker in order to beat it in a vanilla fashion. all im sayin is, im ready for the NON-FAMOUS locations. and kudos to HG for beginning this video series!
For Hyrule castle, you didn’t really mention the lore of it outside of wind waker. Due to the castle being destroyed in OOT this castle is a new one built after the events of that game. The location appears to be lake hylia, which would make sense they’ve move it away from where Ganons castle had been. You can also tell its location with how the gerudo desert is next to it which is where Ganons tower is located.
Actually, in the timeline that WW takes place, Ganondorf wasn't given the chance to destroy the castle. In the Adult Timeline, Link didn't return to the past and just disappeared, so when Ganondorf attacks the castle (in OoT, this is when Impa flees with Zelda) there would have been no plan and no hero to stop him like there is when Link does travel back. With no other choice, the Royal Family called on the Goddesses to help them and they flooded the land and froze Ganondorf's invasion in time, so the castle still stands.
@@echostwitt9648 no no no you got it wrong dawg. Wind waker takes place right after you defeat Ganon in oot. Nothing changes time wise besides link disappearing.
@@llliwwille I won't spend a lot of time arguing with you but I will ask this one question: If it does take place after you defeat Ganon, then how would the king still be alive?
@@echostwitt9648 respectfully you’re arguing with things that are known fact in Zelda lore. And there’s two possible explanations to your question. None of which are confirmed. 1: the king in oot made it out of Hyrule castle and was not killed by Ganondorf. 2: King Daphness from wind waker is a different king then the one from oot. We do not know how much time passes betwene the end of OOT and the great flooding happening. So if the King in oot was killed by Ganondorf. It would have be assumed King Daphness is the descendant of OOT Zelda. Either her son or grandson.
I have always believed that the magic of the triforce chart or the (triforce Shard itself) is What's allowing the ghost ship to maintain what little form it has left... And by taking it, you're essentially ripping out its heart.
It’s interesting to think how the ring around the tower of the gods looks so similar to the mason work arches that surround the great plateau in totk. Almost like when the water receded, it slammed down around the old castle town from OOT.
This game is home to my all time favorite incarnation of Link. Every single other Link begins his journey because he’s the chosen one and destiny says so. However, this one is just a random nobody who began his journey because his sister was kidnapped and literally pulled his hero status up from the bottom of the ocean in pieces and EARNED his chosen one status
So the reason why the Zora evolved into the Rito isn't because the great sea is salt water. It's because the sea is tainted with Ganon's evil. There aren't even fish in the great sea. That's probably why there's pigs on a few islands.
the flood was not salt water it was ethereal water very few things can live in it and ganon says that the sea has no fish but also implies that he is not the reason for that
You got Dragon Roost and Forbidden Woods backward. Dragon Roost is actually the first dungeon, as you need the Winds Requiem to reach the Forest Haven.
Idea: The Ghost Ship was a vessel that was transporting the Triforce Piece/Chart to wherever it was supposed to be hidden and ran afoul of something at sea. The ones on board guarding it became the restless dead because their mission was never completed.
absolutely not trying to sound like a hater, i was really hoping for more on outset island. the segment started and i perked up cos it's so fascinating that link's home island is not only the (secondary) home of an important water spirit but also the site of an ancient combat challenge set down by gods know who, i was looking forward to any kind of discussion or analysis or even theory regarding those mysteries - but then it was just a list of them without much depth. kinda felt like the 'lore' got skated past a little, especially after the cool Spectacle Rock and Gerudo tidbits!
One island I found interesting and wished there was more of a story for was Overlook Island (I think it was called). A series of towers rising up from the sea. What were they used for in the past? Certainly not lighthouses, as there's too many clustered together.
The reason the Zora don't work in the Great Sea is less that it's salty, and more that it's _cursed_ . This type of Zora is actually the Sea Zora/Ocean Zora, with freshwater dwellers of their kind the exception rather than the rule.
Personally I think it makes more sense that the gods made the Zora evolve into the Rito to keep Hyrule from being discovered. Then it being a fresh water vs salt water thing. The Zora in MM could swim in any water just fine.
Outset Island: in the Wilds Era, Lurelin Village is damn near a 1:1 recreation of Outset: from the watchtower where WW Link first wakes up, to the position of the dock. The houses aren't perfect, tho: the one that would be Link's house isn't there, for example. Tower of the Gods: speculation has it that the Timeshift stones are key behind Sheikah tech, hence the blue, and that Gohdan is a prototype Divine Beast. Notably, the circuit-like circular patterns on the walls resemble the constellation patterns seen in Wilds-era Sheikah-related locations/devices. Also, to note that there's no visible base to below the Tower, and that the portal is within the Tower's ring "courtyard," that it goes straight down into the Castle's inner fountain/garden, which would put it _on top_ of Hyrule Castle.... buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut: _Maz Koshia's Arena._
If the Ghost Ship has the Triforce than it must be a member of the royal family. Lol Zill the Booger Kid. 23:38 The Deku Tree has a zit. I thought the Zora evolved into Rito because the sea is too dangerous to swim in. They could swim in salt water in Termina and Labrynna.
The Dragonroost lore I 'think' is wrong. I'm pretty sure Dragonroost was actually Death Mountain where the Goron's resided. When the flood came, the Goron's welcomed the Zora as refugee's with Zora's Domain being destroyed, but after a time the Zora started to take over and the Goron's weren't taking it sitting down. Eventually, Valoo actually sided with the Zora's and the Goron's were banished, and as thanks to Valoo for siding with them, the Zora's, or Rito at this point, renamed the mountain to Dragonroost. The Goron's left and became wandering merchants, which we see a few in WW across the Great Sea, or left for distant lands. Again, I believe this is right, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
The ridiculous pace at which the Zora and Kokiri changed pre-Wind Waker was always due to supernatural intervention; the gods flooded Hyrule and didn't want anybody (aside from the chosen hero that passes the trials of the Tower of the Gods, of course) going back there and undoing the seal (which clearly didn't need help being broken....those things NEVER last), so they changed the aquatic Zora into something that can no longer live in the water (this would also explain why they have to use a magic dragon scale to grow their wings, because it's not a natural mutation but a magically induced one), whereas the Kokiri were ALWAYS spirits and simply took a new form. In contrast, the MAJOR time difference between BotW and everything else could also account for why there's Zora and Rito at the same time and why the Rito are more birdlike than like Hylians with a few bird features (a natural split and evolution this time, instead of divine intervention). As far as the Koroks go, it would seem the nut boy form is just overall a better fit for them than the Hylian child form (also I'm sure it's much more merchandisable from a real world, Nintendo business perspective). Also of note is the fact that the Japanese typically use the term "evolution" in a broader sense, simply often just meaning "change, upgrade" and it almost never has anything to do with Darwinian evolution (for example, look at Pokemon). It's just one of those cultural differences that most people aren't aware of.
It's also a fantasy world not the same as ours, as a very basic base value that info can be applied to explain the differences in how things work too lol
The Hyrule Compendium book always frustrated me. It says a timeline split where the Hero is beaten though originally it was that the Hero just never appeared (in WW opening). Before this compendium, I figured it was because Link went to Termina and 'who knows what' happened after and he never returned. The botched that opportunity in that book.
It's funny that you have Forest Haven as the first dungeon and Dragon Roost as the second because I've literally always done that backwards with Dragon Roost first.
No tingle island?? lol he has to be my favorite character and I would've liked to see someone in botw or totk that is like him, but at least we have Kass and Flowerblight lmaoo but tingle is so dark, I wish you would've added his island here lol
Great video! I'm probably not the targeted demographic seeing as I knew about every single thing you mentioned here well in advance. But correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the time freeze in Hyrule Castle not due to the barrier around the castle itself but because of a separate barrier holding gannon's power in place? He mentions to Link once he pulled the sword his power was freed so that's how I always interpreted it
I think the king flooded Hyrule back in the day.. he was in possession of the triforce of wisdom was he not? And also the map at 7:33 I see on the map that the mountains to the west look like a monster with their arms outstretched toward Hyrule to the east... But lake Hylia to the south has the monster by the nuts holding him back lol
😮 while I prefer not to release occult information, this story reminds me of the ancient lore on Mesopotamia's account where Enlil flooded Earth while Enki saved most of us.
Has anyone ever been confused about the angle of approach the Helmerock King had when he dropped Terra at the beginning of the game? Like if you stand on the same place as when you see it happen he is fly in the opposite direction of the Forsaken Fortress.... where was he originally going?
3:51 This was not Tetra's decision. The King Hyrule imposed his misjudgements onto her and makes her stay down there… the lack of sight from a generation long gone.
I've got an odd question for you. Can only Link find rupees in the grass, or can all folks of Hyrule can? Does Link have such a divine shroud that money sprouts in the most odd places?
Ngl, if I had the skills, i’d loved to make Wind Waker in Twilight Princess’ artstyle and engine, with Phantom Hourglass to follow it, upscaled for a larger experience.
Honest question but why? This art style is beautiful and fits the game and its themes. Just like Twilight Princess won’t fit in this art style. Very different games and visions
@@skateorpie Except that Twilight Princess is an art style I thoroughly enjoyed and felt with the right adjustments to the world scale and some layouts, Wind Waker and even Phantom Hourglass could feel right at home.
Could the ghost ship be the no good pirates mentioned? Do we ever find or see who could be these pirates? Ganaon does have a history of harming his own people. Do we ever see the descendants of these warriors as well? (All in all, what a miss chance to see an entire crew of female pirates runing around all be it for no-good pirating)

"Oh no, the ocean is too salty for us to handle... We must climb to the mountains and flap our arms until we inevitably evolve into birds."
- the Zora probably
Jokes aside, the Zora evolving into Rito makes a LOT more sense when you take into account they need Valoo's scale to gain their wings. There was likely some form of magic involved with their evolution into birds.
That still doesn't explain why they didn't just become lizard people or smth, for God sake the og Zora looked a lot more reptilian.

Possible outlets to drain the flood waters if more comes out than seems to even be contained within the reservoir to begin with would be the Menoat River, Lanayru Bay, and perhaps even Tanagar Canyon.)
I mean, the Great Plateau is meant to be the walls and contents of OoT's Hyrule Castle Town (what BotW calls the "Eastern Abbey" is the ruins of OoT's castle) but the gate faces northeast now instead of facing south like OoT's map depicted it.
@@MuljoStpho bro its not that deep...
Apparently Fire Mountain is supposed to be Death Mountain? Kinda makes sense but not really?
@@OtakuUnitedStudioisn't that south of dragon roost? if so then the only way its death mountain is if its the southern foot of death mountain
@@bagofshhhspectacle rock is a land mark that changes location from game to game its an iconic landmark but its not as usable as a location like death mountain that stays in the same location

No Private Oasis??? The most iconic island in Wind Waker hands down.
@@FerociousMit and the weird bubbling spring at the top of the waterfall. I always thought there was more to that place.
Forsaken Fortress is such an oddball. It’s an old Gerudo fortress… yet there are Sheikah emblems decorated throughout the place.
Maybe BotW gives us a potential hint, they could be early Yiga symbols. Before they changed to the upside down eye. Of course that would require a version of the Yiga we haven't heard of to both form and disappear again between Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio They could also be trophies from slain sheikah warriors.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio yiga exists only in the new hyrule the zonai created (botw/totk). No yiga before that because sheikah tech is post zonai.

Nintendo needs to rerelease wind waker on the switch. Twilight princess too. They should also release the four swords trilogy as well and make a new four swords game in the style of tears of the kingdom. Spirit tracks needs a sequel. Also conclude the hero of time trilogy.

The ghost ship was seen again, in Phantom Hourglass. Might be worth taking into account
Thank you for this I'm still relatively new to Legend of Zelda! And I appreciate the effort you put into making Zelda content.
Hope you enjoyed!
Fuck Zelda fans' opinions of the Zonai, to me, they're responsible for the Tower of the Gods and the Twili
Hate??? Zonai was the buzz word before Totk came out. They got what they wanted
29:51 this is the good stuff!! I expected a lot of lore from the Earth and Air Temple’s. Great video
After all, if you can't find him, you can't pay him, right?)
How many Zelda dungeons are dungeons according to the real-world definition, anyway?
The rito in wind waker are different from those in botw and totk, also the wind waker rito didn't have or use bows
man do i want to relive my memories of playing this and twilight again
I would like to play wind waker one day whenever it comes out on the switch or the switch 2.
Hi! This is one of my favorite series thank you so much for covering it!!!
thanks a lot!
Thank you for another video! I love your content ❤ Wasn’t until I was an adult that I appreciated this game (rage quit on Dragon Roost Island during the dungeon when I was a kid) Look forward to listening to this 😁
i love your videos. since you have a calm and steady tone of voice i enjoy listening most of all when i’m trying to relax, or fall asleep
Glad you like them!
My favourite thing about Jabun is that he, like Jabu-Jabu, is essentially called "splash" in Japanese (Jabu-Jabu is more like "splish splash").

Wind waker is such a magical game, and every time I see it and some scenws, I'm reminded of that magic.
It really is an amazing game!
@@HyruleGamer it was my first Zelda game, it was the game that helped me through a dark time. This game is one of, if not my favorite.
The island where Lake Hylia used to be is actually shown to line up with Great Fish Island, according to Nintendo.
Hi Hyrule Gamer! I’ve been here for like 5 years since you were at 1K subs! I love your videos ❤
It’s interesting to think how the ring around the tower of the gods looks so similar to the mason work arches that surround the great plateau in totk. Almost like when the water receded, it slammed down around the old castle town from OOT.
Great Video! Love how you saved the GOAT for last!
That's probably why there's pigs on a few islands.
the flood was not salt water it was ethereal water very few things can live in it and ganon says that the sea has no fish but also implies that he is not the reason for that

absolutely not trying to sound like a hater, i was really hoping for more on outset island. the segment started and i perked up cos it's so fascinating that link's home island is not only the (secondary) home of an important water spirit but also the site of an ancient combat challenge set down by gods know who, i was looking forward to any kind of discussion or analysis or even theory regarding those mysteries - but then it was just a list of them without much depth. kinda felt like the 'lore' got skated past a little, especially after the cool Spectacle Rock and Gerudo tidbits!

Again, I believe this is right, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
tower of the gods looks just like the towers in megaman legends and they are both set in a world covered in water.
It’s actually nice to meet a real hylian
It's funny that you have Forest Haven as the first dungeon and Dragon Roost as the second because I've literally always done that backwards with Dragon Roost first.

Really need to set my Wii U back up and finally play this
😮 while I prefer not to release occult information, this story reminds me of the ancient lore on Mesopotamia's account where Enlil flooded Earth while Enki saved most of us.
Love this series so much
Thanks!
LOVED THIS
might need to boot up the good ol wii u again, havenet played WWHD since 2014 :')
@Leeloo_the_fox i bought a new PCB for the gamepad and installed it :) Everything works and charges just fine, now I have to find a WWHD copy locally
Oh no, not more lore! He’s sending us to distant shores, pouring more lore on our floor with a roar. For unto us a lore is s’more!
I’m saving up to get wind waker for my gamecube!
Great video mate
Thanks a lot!
i still have questions about that Npc tot seen as he disappears after teaching you the song of passing
From below, the forbidden fortress resembles the shape of the Rito village central stone pillar…
I've got an odd question for you. Can only Link find rupees in the grass, or can all folks of Hyrule can? Does Link have such a divine shroud that money sprouts in the most odd places?
I believe Link's first seaside adventure was Link's Awakening
Ngl, if I had the skills, i’d loved to make Wind Waker in Twilight Princess’ artstyle and engine, with Phantom Hourglass to follow it, upscaled for a larger experience.
You'd also need a good lawyer or a great ability to hide your identity, otherwise Nintendo will Nintendo.
Links awakening is the first seaside adventure
Could the ghost ship be the no good pirates mentioned?
Do we ever find or see who could be these pirates?
Ganaon does have a history of harming his own people.
Do we ever see the descendants of these warriors as well?
(All in all, what a miss chance to see an entire crew of female pirates runing around all be it for no-good pirating)
its not that its salt water, its that its essentially holy water
WIND WAKER AAAAA
With the Pretendo network, people can keep getting Tingle Bottles.
outset Island is the real spectacle rock in Wind Waker
Really cool thanks ! 👍
Thanks for watching!
18:04 Andross is what I like to call this boss.
it’s a ghost ship and when you get the shard link is awakened
Fresh. Do another with more call backs. The mail man with interesting back tatoos...pls
