As someone who loves and adores Skyward Sword, this video makes me truly happy. The thing that draws me to a game most is the story, characters, and world building- all things that SS excels in. So many people treat the game as a black sheep because they had trouble with the controls (i never did after upgrading from the motion plus accessory to the wiimote plus, so even that hate confuses me). They end up not giving it a fair chance because of this, missing out on one of the richest games in the whole series lore wise and an absolutely amazing story. So seeing a video dedicated to the aspects of the game that I love so much about it is such a nice treat. I really hope this helps change the minds of a few people 💜
@@BillyBobJoe14 yes exactly!! The HD version is great. The button controls are a little wonky since SS wasn't developed with buttons in mind, but once you get used to it it's great! And honestly, even though it feels weird playing SS without motion control for me, I prefer playing HD with buttons. While I rarely had trouble with the motion controls on wii, I've had NOTHING but problems with them in HD. Heck, even playing docked with the pro controller, the gyro desync when using the bow is INSANELY painful. It made me so frustrated during Sandship
I think the intended location that the triforce was hidden was inside link. You don’t find it in the natural realm you find it in a place lit near identical to the other silent realm areas you’ve been in. And in canon the silent realm is a realm formed of links spirit, I think. The dungeon didn’t contain the triforce, it forged the spirit to wield it.
Heaven and Earth are a common pairing in Japanese media. Inuyasha, Mega Man Legends, and Naruto just off the top of my head. But I really loved Skyloft in this game, and the loftwings. And we know the connection is deep because at the start Link said he couldn't 'sense his loftwing nearby. Even when Groose catches Link's, he only cages it. He doesn't bind its wings or harm it. I think since they are a gift from Hylia it might be an unforgivable sin to kill one.

"Sky Keep is the only main dungeon in the entire Zelda series to not feature a boss." Dreadfuse: "Am I a joke to you?" I count Dreadfuse as a boss because he guards the single key in this dungeon. Without it, you cannot obtain the Triforce of Courage. In some aspects he is perhaps more akin to a mini boss like the White Wolfos of the Ice Cavern or Dead Hand of the Bottom of the Well. Mini bosses are often found about halfway through a dungeon, typically just prior to obtaining the key item, but also are accompanied by the main boss who gives you a heart container. While none of those I have listed give you a heart container, they are the closest thing to a boss these particular dungeons have. Wasn't it the power of the flame or the timeshift stone that made the Sandship invisible? It was a form of protection that the robots used to keep the flame hidden, at least that's what Skipper the Captain led me to believe.
Yes, it's a protection thing they were able to rig to the ship using the flame, similarly to how in OOT "Nayru's love" (the goddoess of wisdom, who LanNAYRU was named after) gives you a protection diamond around Link 😊

I’m pretty sure that the implication is that the ancient hero IS Skyward Sword Link: After all, he’s the one who was gifted the sail by the goddess, and he’s the one who defeated Demise in the past. Demise even notes that he’s never met anyone with the courage that Link has, implying there’s never was another hero besides Link.
@@codyespey9761 I’m pretty sure it’s stated that Hylia is the one who put that seal on Demise, no hero is mentioned as a part of that. And if Hylia already had another hero as well as access to time travel, why would she need to sculpt Link into the perfect hero to defeat Demise? Skyward Sword’s time travel is extremely wonky, it doesn’t seem to operate on any sort of concrete rules, so it’s kinda unclear how stories of the ancient hero exist when there was no ancient hero until Link went back and defeated Demise.
Well there was that little manga piece at the end of the Hyrule Historia book that revealed Hylia choosing a man that was wrongfully imprisoned by his fellow early Hylians/humans, being framed for a reason that's never revealed. Hylia chose him for his courage and decided to reincarnate his spirit along with hers in a mortal body because she knew that spirit was unbreakable, and that's what hones the Master Sword to it's true self. It's supposed to give a little background on why the red loftwing chose Link in Skyward Sword too. The predecessor of that loftwing supposedly was very close to Hylia and chose to help only the old hero in battle. And I doubt when Zelda went back in time she went alllll the way back to SS beginning. She went back far but still at the end of the timeline. At least there's no proof otherwise 🤷♀️ sorry about the info dump 😅

Demise won. Zelda nor ANYhyrulean god is more powerful than Demise's curse. It means their power is illegitimate and Demise is the true deity of this realm where the golden goddesses invaded
sounds a bit pessimistic. I think it's more of a "every light casts a shadow" kinda thing and he's a result of the golden goddesses' influence and hylia's continued presence. just a natural balance in a world where true divine good exists
The story of this game is so rich with lore and backstory. Even though it is a bit of a retcon, introducing the Goddess Hylia, and finally describing the Master Sword’s role as sealing the power of the demon king’s power until it weakens, and a hero has to prove himself worthy to reporter the sword, and recapture the remaining power. It’s really cool how the story of the hero and villain are opposite (the hero reforges the sword into a more powerful version, whereas the evil weapon reforges its master into a more powerful version that hadn’t existed previously). The majority on the story taking place in an alternate timeline until Ghirahim goes back in time to crest the traditional Zelda timeline is very clever. As is finally describing how the hero and the master sword work together to slowly destroy Demise’s power, a battle that takes 1000 years and spans through Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, Zelda 1 and 2, and the finally the Twilight Princess. Finally clearing the stage for Gannondorf to become the second demon king in BotW and TotK. It’s really neat that you can pretty much chart a game’s location in the timeline by looking at how old Impa is, as she is the same character, and has been on a wild journey protecting the master sword, and Hyrule for a very long time.
Skyward Sword is the only mainline game I've never even played. I had no desire to play it with motion controls when it came out, and when the HD rerelease dropped, I just wasn't interested.
Sounds like you're making up excuses to hate on it. They fixed all the issues with the controls with the HD release. They LITERALLY gave you standard traditional controls, upgraded to 60fps, allowed you to mute Fi and many more improvements. Moron!
Technically Link didn't forge the Master Sword. Hylia created the original blade, and it's not stated how she did it. Link just infused it with the golden goddsess' power (who are supposed to be a level above Hylia).
The forging of the Master sword is talked about in three games. First in the A link to the past manual they say that the ancient people of Hyrule by order of the gods forged the Master sword to protect the Triforce from evil. Second in Twilight princess Zelda says that the Master sword was forged with the wisdom of the ancient sages. And third in Skyward sword Link forges the Master sword using the Goddess sword as a base also there are sage medallion symbols from Ocarina of time on the ceiling of the sealing grounds temple. So in conclusion these are three parts to the same origin story.
What does garbage ass game you can really sum these locations up really quickly they were once basic locations on the ground they got raised into the sky they wound up falling back down to the ground again the end

You know something that would be fun to explore, it would be fun to explore how the worlds exist within the Zelda universe, and where they'd be located in their respective space time dimensions. I was recently looking at old art concept for Dragon Ball and how their entire world and universe is built around this place. And I couldn't help think of Zelda games in a similar light of how the entire world and universe are connected. It's easier to conceptualize how they exist when using something like that to work off. I would maybe recommend checking it out yourself and see what you can come up with.

I've been seeing this same exact comment or comments similar to this all across RUclips
