I pre-ordered TOTK. Played it on release day. Yet, I still have NOT finished it! I haven't even completed a single Dungeon yet!!!! I did 100% the Depths, retrieved all the in-map tears-memories, & got all Shrines......But...... I'm actually nervous to play through any of the storyline, because after spending years theorizing with the LoZ community & being hyped up for BOTW 2..... I'm so worried that this game's story will fall short. So once you started talking about TOTK, I had to pause & save this video for later...... I've stayed away from all TOTK videos so I don't spoil it (except for fun transportation vehicle builds lol). I'm going to start playing it again tomorrow, as I've procrastinated far too long...... my longest procrastination yet with my ADHD self (over a year now) 🤣 But still wanted to show support by at least liking & engaging with the vid even if I can't fully watch it right now!!! 💜💚
How? Thats quite impressive. I definitely couldn't stop myself from playing a new zelda game regardless of if its good or not. Hope yoi have a great time once you do get playing the story.
Honestly, you should just play the game. Fulfilling story or disappointment, it’s just a game and it’s meant to be enjoyed. Lots of people spent years working on it so you could enjoy it. Sometimes you have to let go and just let the moments happen
If you've done the memories then yeah, without spoilers it's likely you'll feel that what's left isn't of much substance. I suppose that procrastinating to preserve hype may sour the conclusion to your journey. In a way I was lucky to spread the good and not-so-good pretty evenly on my initial playthrough.
I see very mixed comments, but I enjoyed it, particularly chasing down all the memories and watching them was amazing. The details were cool - Listen to the music if it's the last thing you do!!!
BotW was my introduction to the Zelda series. I remember being intimidated by how large everyone said the game was. I started watching the lore videos and got accustomed to the community, and it allowed my first playthrough to become so much more than a game. Its been four years now, TotK is out, and I didn't realize how much nostalgia I had for early BotW memories until I clicked on this video. Thank you for being a part of this community.
i fucking love the wild era games. botw was my first zelda game and it came out when i was in like either 4th or 5th grade (now im in college) but i have so many good memories from botw
I'm disappointed that TotK did not build up the Zonai Ruins in Faron more than they did. Instead of it building up to a trip to the Thunderhead Isles and then the Construct Factory in the Depths, I feel there could have been more secrets and lore about the Zonai that could have been discovered in the leadup to the Spirit Temple, like maybe give text and dialogue along the way about the early Zonai settlement and how their civilization prospered and then fell. Heck, the temple itself could have been a secret dungeon found deep within the lush green jungle flora. I guess I am just a sucker for historical landmarks and thus would have loved for more lore and secrets about Hyrule's most mysterious race.
I'm sure if they had another year... or if covid didn't happen, they would've been able to flesh out a bunch more stuff. It's not like they were struggling for ideas what with all these Zeldatubers abound =]
Was generally happy that they included the zoni ruins at all but it would have been nice if they had given some sort of use to the big dragon head statue that just used tho house the sping of courage. Maby a secret cave with a lore tablet could have fleshed it out more similar to the one in the royal secret passage and in Typhlo ruins. Im still happy that they didn't completely forget about it in the story but it dose feel a bit overlooked even compared to Typhlo ruins which has far more stuff to do there. But i feel like thundera plateau was done dirty even more, instead of being at least tied to a shrine quest or having a proper cave its just used as one of Miskos treasure hiding spots which is kind of disappointing because it was one of the few major zoni structures found in BOTW.
I like most of the location changes in Totk, but one I'm most upset about is Kakariko Village... I don't know why, but having the ring ruins and everything just kills the vibe. The location feels completely different, and a lot less cozy. I would frequent Kakariko in Botw, as it was my comfort place, but its just not the same anymore.
Regarding Lurelin Village I still think there might be a connection, it's been known that the hylians and Zonai were close, and I vaguely remember a theory that the ancient hylians hid all the zonai stuff, the evidence of this being a pedastal made with the more pristene white marble-like zonai architecture peeking out from a rougher, stonecarved shell reminiscent of the more familiar zonai architecture like in the zonai ruins in Faron, meaning that the people of Lurelin could have been descended from the ancient hylians that worshipped the zonai
Any video I pick to put on and fall asleep to is high praise. It’s a process every night to find what I’m feeling and I can only pick one on all of RUclips.
What do you think will become of Hyrule Castle after TOTK? I'd love to see it restored to its former glory. Doesn't Zelda still have her secret stone by the end of the game? If so, then maybe she could just rewind the Castle back onto the ground, and maybe even restore it fully.
@@Wolf05227 The ending of Breath of the Wild and the scene where she reforges the Master Sword with light from her right arm in Tears of the Kingdom imply she's the current bearer of the complete Triforce. Add to that Zelda's Secret Stone, and she's more than able to rebuild the entire kingdom in a second.
@@Wolf05227 i guess it'd depend on whether she'd know it was the triforce and that she can wish on it which i don't think so, but i think with her secret stone which amplifies her control over time she'd be able to use a stronger version of recall than link and probably recall the castle
I literally played the original Five Night's At Freddy's while listening to this. Zelda and FNAF both go so hard are with their respective lores. Haha.
The tablet in Thyphlo (I think I spelled that right) does not say that Thyphlo was built by the Hylians it says that this shrine was built by the Hylians which could mean anything from them renovating and repurposing an older structure to them building it from scratch. You like many people assumed the second option mentioned when there's not really much lore to back it up however the first option mentioned fits with the lore we have seen surrounding the Zonai from Breath of the wilds and Master works Vol.1 so its the more likely answer.
Thanks for the video Hyrule as always! Hyrule Castle is such a core and fun location to explore in both of the wilds games for the story and also the lore. That Typhlo ruins lore is sooo cool too, its great the way they evolved the lore on the Zonai. Can't wait for part 2!
I'm a bit surprised you did not mention how you can undergo a side quest to repair Lurelin Village in TotK after you vanquish all of the monsters. While it's nowhere close to the scale of building Tarry Town from the ground up in BotW, it is still rewarding at the end to see the village fully repaired to its former glory and the townspeople will allow you to use their services (like the inn) for free. It had a wholesome moment play out in a cutscene, which was the closest we got in TotK to the Tarry Town side quest.
I study, clean, sleep, & get ready for bed to these videos every now and again when I feel like it. Your effort in making these videos is appreciated 👏🏼
My headcanon re: Typhlo Ruins - The ancient Sheikah created the darkness shrouding the island to protect the forbidden history. When their tech and shrines disappeared after BOTW, the darkness lifted as well. They had knowledge of the future, whether through some magical divination or simply listening to Zelda recount her life while in the ancient past who can say?
I thought that in BOTW, Dorian told the yiga about the orb and that it had been 'solved' (due to threats of violence on his kids) but that he didn't steal it himself. We/Link fight to get it back from the bladesmaster
I mean, you do see hyrule castle in aoc. But only like during the calamity, but im pretty sure the great hall is there. If i remember right i think it has like a silver lynel

I haven't played Tears of the Kingdom yet but what you've described here reminds me a lot of the Maya. They're often depicted in common culture as a barbaric tribe but in reality they were highly advanced, moreso than the European conquerors of the time in many ways. They're also still similarly mysterious to us as the Zonai were in Breath of the Wild, and even their ruins and art look fairly similar
I'm pretty sure that the tapestry doesn't show the first appearance of the calamity, cause the guardians and divine beasts didn't exist when it first appeared. The first appearance was well over ten thousand years ago. Great video btw. Loved this series. Keep up the great work.
I bought Totk the day it came out, and I still haven’t beaten it yet. I think I’m just not ready. I got far enough to finish all the dungeons on my first playthrough and then just stopped playing for some reason, personal stuff probably, had a lot going on at that point in my life. Anyways recently I made my gf play botw and I played along side her and we just finished, so now we’re playing totk along side eachother. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna finish it this time, but I’m gonna be so sad for this story to be over
It is not confirmed, but the dueling peaks are a nod to the artwork in the manual for the original Zelda for the NES. Link is overlooking Hyrule from a cliff, and there are mountains in the distance that somewhat resemble Dueling Peaks. Though the split is not as pronounced as BotW.

This is unrelated to the videos topic but With TOTK having constructs that seem to be far more resistant to the corruption of Gloom/Malice I wonder why the Shika technology based machines are so susceptible to the corruption of Gloom/Malice. Maby constructs are resistant to to the corruption of ganon due to them being inherently based on light energy to power them, without the light power constructs fall to pieces. The sheka tech runs off of some kind of blue fuel and they seemingly can stay dormant with out the fuel and be just fine. So maby ganon just used the Malice as fuel for the guardians and corrupted them that way Trojan horse style. The only construct we ever see be taken under ganondorfs control is the seized construct. But it seems that it isn't really taken under control and is actually puppeted by Gloom tendrils. What is probably going on with the seized construct is that it is just Gloom is pupetting its empty de activated shell of the seized construct to attack link. The seized construct has long been deactivated and what your fighting in spirit temple isn't a construct anymore but a marionette puppeted around by strings of Gloom.
i do like the theory that the light dragon made the path in the dueling peaks... it would kinda make sense since she goes back in time essentially for many thousands of years...

22:26 While it is a funny idea it's clearly stated that the ones that draconify lose themselves. Zelda wouldn't be able to make that decision as she basically didn't exist. She was just a dragon flying through the skies without any purpose for well over 10 000 years. Sure she knew that the Demon Dragon a.k.a. Ganondorf was bad, but I think that's because she can feel what's good and bad and simething as simple as being able to tell "This guy's my enemy" isn't something you need to think very much about to figure out.
When you've finished all your Location Videos i'm going to rewatch them all over again, unless you make a Compilation Video and i'll watch that instead.
“Massive amount of time” “Massive favor” “Massive help” “Hog, pig-like beast” “Ancient sheika technology of old not seen for ages” I appreciate all the effort and detail in this video, and don’t get me wrong- it’s very impressive- but it’s just full of redundancy and it’s really grating ‘:/ Besides that, good video!
a theory i just thought of but what if botw and totk is the final reincarnation of Ganondorf before demise makes his big return in a future title I'm only basing it off the fact the mastsword is finally reacting in some way
Please tell me this doesn’t mean there’s not gonna be more lore videos on Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom I can feel there’s always more content to be made from exploring this world I will of course be happy to see the new videos to come from Echoes of Wisdom but I really don’t want to see the lore videos on BOTW and Tears ending

“Massive help”
“Hog, pig-like beast”
“Ancient sheika technology of old not seen for ages”
I appreciate all the effort and detail in this video, and don’t get me wrong- it’s very impressive- but it’s just full of redundancy and it’s really grating ‘:/
Besides that, good video!
Thank you
a theory i just thought of but what if botw and totk is the final reincarnation of Ganondorf before demise makes his big return in a future title I'm only basing it off the fact the mastsword is finally reacting in some way
Cool Video Bro.
Thanks!
No problem.
Hello!
Hello!
@@HyruleGamer omg! lol
I love smoking me a blunt and listening to some Zelda Lore lol
Too right, enjoy!
The great hall is actually in age of calamity
Ive watched so many of your videos and i only now realized you have an irish accent (i think)
@@otterbox8434 Close, I'm from Scotland!
why is bro trying to sell me on a vacation is kakariko 💀
My favorite location is in links dreams
Koholint island 🏝️
love these lore of important location videoes even there's always something new to learn about places that are visited for few minutes
Echoes of Wisdom just dropped so there’s plenty of lore to dive into there
alternate title: how many times can i say the word castle lol
What about looking at Hyrule warriors
day 255 of mentioning that on 5/6/2023 hyrule gamer made a video where, at 43.46, he spent 12 seconds simping about the ancient gerudo soldiers
A comment for the algorithm goddes
Thank you!

Huh?
They’re not hylian influenced in botw at all
Arent there 5 shieka towers
Low key insulting that you didn’t acknowledge the people who work out while watching your videos (jk I love your content!!)
I wasn't aware there was a HG Workout club! Love that 💪
@@HyruleGameri watch RUclips while I work out and your video was next on my list! So yknow I don’t only watch your stuff while working out but it certainly happens lol
I don't think Hyrule castle will ever reclaim its glory. I think that both Lookout landing is more meaningful for the people of the current era. And that after 100 years of horrors it would be bad PR to stay on such a dangerous place.
Heyy!!
Ooo
Hello there
General Kenobi!

Bro, not a word about Echoes of Wisdom on your channel? Not even in a community post. You're that busy playing it, hmm? lol
Not putting gloom hands under Kakariko's well was a missed opportunity.
TOTK SPOILER DRAGON MUCH?
The game has been out well over a year, I think its fair to say if you're watching a video about the game you can expect spoilers
I'm sorry if you were spoiled regardless :(
@@HyruleGamer it says botw on the title, not totk, which I hadn't chance to play until now, thanks for the big spoiler, you're wrong.
Anyway, thanks for the vids
@@HyruleGamer I know it says two parts, it reads as if this is part one, for botw
@@HyruleGamer also, people who think that can spoil stories for new audiences based on how old a piece of art is, omg no words...
Omg I actually put your videos on to fall asleep to so that was fun to hear
Awesome!
