I just wish I'd found this channel years ago, I could have saved myself a few quid, Moike the poirate is a gem, he did save me a few quid on the NXZT PC case btw, thanks for that btw Moike ;) x
I really want one of the CTE cases but cant decide between the c700 and the t500. As for the cables you could always buy short extension cables or hub so you have sockets outside the case for very regulerly unplugged devices. If you have a 3D printer you could make a little holder that looks like a hub to hold the ends of the extension cables neatly on the desk.
Very nice case indeed. Is that case going to fit on the self behind you Mike? Thank you Thermaltake for sending your products for Mike and Lady Kath to review at MUB Central. Take care everybody and be safe out there. Cheers
Hi, Mike. Very nice case. But I still want it's big brother, the C750. Personally, I love the 90 degree mobo rotation. I had a couple other cases like that.
Wow what a showcase! Such quality and good design to give you so much flexibility at a great price! For me i like the idea of the motherboard io being at the top as use mine a lot with enclosures and usb's but the access would drive me nuts lol Great review Mike , Kath and another gem from Thermaltake🐈👍
I just got this case for stupid cheap at an auction, I don't use the grommet out the back for my wires, its annoying having to pop both the top and side panel off and fish the wires in to plug something in, I dangle all the wires out the the back towards the top where put your fingers in to pull the back panel, I use one of the tie downs with a Velcro strap it came with to secure the wires so no tension on the connectors, So if I need to unplug something or add another cable, all I have to do is pop the top off and plug it in and pop it back on and be done.
I have seen more than one video with someone putting 420 rads on the front and back, and this thing is bigger than o11d evo xl which does officially support 420's all over the place, so what is up with Thermaltake and these official specs? I mean on video was using Thermaltake radiators for godsake!
It's really funny how hard it is to convey how this case looks in person... I got the black variant, and I'm very satisfied... I couldn't have imagined how huge it is and how much space it has... Everything looks disproportionate on camera because you're used to seeing the graphics card take up the entire case, and when you look at the GPU here, your perception doesn't register that the card is over 32cm long, and you instinctively compare the whole setup with a case that's 30% smaller... Look at how empty what he made looks... He's missing at least 5 more 140mm fans... And even then, if he doesn't add an LCD or a water pump, it'll look empty :) This case is a masterpiece... My first good case was the Antec P180, and it was like something from the future compared to the tin cans that everyone around me had :) But this C700... it looks like nothing else I've ever seen... such a simple design with a minimal touch of futurism and exceptional performance, while giving you complete control over airflow... this is perfection!!!
I swear I have been visualizing this exact layout for some time now, and something closer to the Thermaltake CTE T500 since around 2016. . I waited for like a decade for Silverstone to do something like this and finally ended up conceding defeat when i went ahead and purchased an Alta F1 last year knowing all the limitations at... wait for it... $300!!! I would have kept the case if my GPU performed well in it (Pulse 6800XT) but due to the flat laptop style heatpipes it would overheat in 90 degree rotation. I sent that case back. I had convinced myself I would at some point be contacting Protocase or the like to build me a custom enclosure similar to these cube-ish designs at who knows how much money, but thankfully I won't have to. I think this is my next chassis.. I'm stoked to see it's well thought out and decently priced! I'd love to say I could utilize the CTE 750 but that's probably not true.. and I think I like this better than the CTE C500. But it's great to have a nice variety of options with this series, I really think TT outdid themselves. The 700/750 are like the culmination of of a Silverstone FT or RV 02 and a Caselabs Merlin SM8 all in one package, minus the crazy cost of either one... brilliant!
@@mikesunboxing Ya it's cool. I like the 90 degree format for 3 reasons. I think the GPU hanging vertical looks the best and it eliminates sag, and to me the mobo I/O at the top seems ideal. Of course those are subjective reasons and I can see why it doesn't work in everyone's situation with their desk and all. I have my PC on a short table next to my desk. If I had to nitpick this case it would be exterior I/O should be on the front since you can access mobo I/O at the top... and at least on the 750 the cables should run straight out the back closer to the top panel. Maybe there is a reason why you can't, especially on the narrower CTE 500 but I wouldn't know for sure unless I seen it in person. Anyway thanks for your review, you gained a new follower..
Picked mine up for £100 and will soon be building in it which will be a lot easier then my old reliable 700D got an arctic liquid freezer iii 420 to put in looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
yes if you want to add hard drives, add/remove usb connections etc, put in a keyboard usb etc its a real pain, also the cables to the graphics card put pressure on the outputs as the cables have to bend 90 degrees to plug them in. add .5m to all your cables. Ok for a do it all during the build and never touch again but otherwise its just hardship for no return.
Thank you for this video Mike. Good that people are thinking out of the box. This case is not for me however. I find it quite confusing and especially very ugly. But that is of course my own humble opinion.

This 700/750 series is nice by CTE orientation and sacrifices take some getting used to by this old fashioned PC builder. Although made primarily for extensive liquid cooling builds it still has lots to offer to us old fashioned air cooler guys. I personally, got burned too many times on liquid AIO CPU cooling kits due to their propensity to lose their pumps just outside of 2 years regardless of brand make of AIO kit. The difference between this CTE-700 and the CTE-750 are really minor, the rear back I/O grommet is replaced by a 1 by 2 inch open rectangle. 4 top USB 3.0 connections instead of 2 and that's it.
" their propensity to lose their pumps just outside of 2 years regardless of brand make of AIO kit." that's not common at all, you have VERY bad luck (but also, interenet, so perhaps liar due to aircooling fanboyism, but I dont like assuming the worse, so I wont)
@@mikesunboxing tks for the answer! I checked the specs on the radiator you used and it is 27mm but from the angles of the video i couldn't be sure if there was another 20mm of space

i think if i was using this long term the cable extensions would be a must and some form of breakout box would be useful

I totally agree!
Nice to see some variation in case design - fantastic review from Mike as usual - thanks
Very welcome thanks mick
How could you resist the urge to put an ITX mobo in it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It is as a tough choice 😂
I have this exact case!!
3 x 140mm 🥰🥰🥰 great to listen to thank you, agree would want this in standard layout to be honest
yeah it really would be a great option to a wider range of potential buyers in a more standard layout

haha glad you like it! It was a bit too big for me, but if i had the room it would be a good choice
Just got the argb version, great case to build and use
shame it is a little too big to fit in the background of our little studio, would love to do a full custom water cooled build in it
Good job ! 😉👍

i actually agree with this, i am also not fully sold on the IO aspect of the CTE cases and have said this a few times.
Nice design but i don't like the vertical mount way. Also only ONE fan up top is too little i think.
