I wish I could relive the day I heard this one for the first time. That goes for every Tool song.
Been a fan for a long time but somehow missed this album. Recently discovered this track and can tell you that even as a long time fan, this hits different. I've started trail running with this and keep setting faster and faster times. It just keeps giving.
I remember my first Tool song, it was in 2001, I was 16, I had the radio on in my room and Schism came on. Life changer
Never been so early. This song got me hooked to Tool along with Schism.

For anyone who doesn't believe progressive metal is.....hard.....accessible.....funky.....soulful.....lyrical.....RIDICULOUS.....this song is an absolute MASTERCLASS.
The section from 4:30 - 5:00 gets me Every. Damn. Time.
Seriously one of the greatest grooves I've ever heard!
Hell yeah! So many great parts of this song, but that section has some of the nastiest bass I've ever experienced. LOVE IT!

the production on the 10,000 days album is just so beautiful. Justin's bass line is just pure filth :D Maynard's screaming is like no other vocalist's, it's just the perfect expression of rage.

Reflection is a real gem, Tool's most underrated track, IMO. I've really been digging that one recently.

" This song completely excoriates judges and lawyers who put people in jail for pot. "Who are you to piss on my black kettle?" (the pot calling the kettle black). Am in my sixties. Lost my cassettes in a divorce, but the one I miss the most is Tool's first EP.

Has been my favorite band since the first time I heard them in 93. They're getting up in age as am I. I just hope they can put out at least two more, but we know how tool is.

It’s amazing how great music can change your day.
That actually makes a lot of sense. This band is special to many people. These reactions allow us to feel some validation that our fascination and love for the music is not entirely misplaced.
What's so special about this specific channel is that they have a really good ear, not just for what sounds good, but what is specifically awesome about each track. They don't analyze the music at a technical level, but they appreciate every single technical nuance that makes Tool... Tool. They are a rare find. Big fan here.

I kinda want to do a series on neurodivergant people listening to Tool because the Stim levels are consistently off the charts with these patterns and sounds and melodies and harmonics discordance freaking everything etc. Like Danny's drum kit tuning alone is a gold mine.
Interesting study idea. Reminds me of the movie Mr Hollands Opus. His deaf son sits on the speaker to feel the music, even though he can’t hear it, it still moves him emotionally.

Fun fact: if you go and the search for this song on youtube, the most replayed part...yeah, its the beggining, and lets face it, u cant really listen to this song once...its literally too complex to catch everything on the first go, thats number 1, number 2 the feeling u get after listening to tool is quite simply unique. Not alot of music gives u that, so when u find it, u go back to it.
