I'm proud to say, despite it being years late, I had my GWAR cherry popped last Friday at The Masquerade in Atlanta. It was everything I expected, and everything I didn't expect. While it's a shame I'll never get to see Oderus perform live, I'm happy to say I've been a fan of the group ever since their appearance on Jerry Springer in the 90's and on the Beavis And Butt-head video game piqued my interest.
@@Godlike_Virus I have zero interest in seeing GWAR w/o Oderus. It's too obvious an essential component in the band is missing...It'd be like making KoolAid without sugar. No thanks! (No disrespect to the band, sincerely)

True story: I lived in Richmond, VA from 1999-2001, working in traveling surgical sales. Our cat jumped from our 2nd story balcony and disappeared. My GF put up posters and got a call three days later. Sadly, I was out of town - my GF went to an older lady's apartment not far from ours off Ashley Park Drive, by the hospital, and our cat Murphy was there safe and sound. The older gal's son found him in the parking area. The son was "a guitarist for some silly little band called GWAR" (mom's words). My GF wasn't a GWAR fan - I almost threw the cat back off the balcony again in hopes for a repeat performance. In short, GWAR rescued my cat. I still don't know which GWARian rescued 'ol Murph (he's dead now), but thanks to GWAR for not shoving him into a meat grinder or whatever ;)
You guys remember how Dave used to always say GWAR is the band that can literally go on forever, because you can keep swapping people out of the suits? I know his suit is a damn big one to fill... but he'd want things to continue.

Really wish I could make it out to Richmond for the tribute and GWAR-B-Q. I am glad it is continuing. It is a great festival to help a noble cause and at the same time bring together a bunch of kick-ass bands. All hail Oderus and Flattus!! RIP Dave and Cory. MAKE GOD ROCK!!!
