Hey I’m 17 and just bought my 98 c230!!! I’ve researched so much and absolutely love the car. It’s got small transmission issues but it drives insanely smooth. They are beautiful cars
Hi there, i am a proud owner of w202 200. "forever" Mercedes means, that Mercedes Built the cars with the Motto "best or nothing" before. And they were meant to last life long. You can not say that from the following models anymore. Even my Mercedes Benz Mechanic says, the w203 is a less reliable car already.
Nah, your complaint should be "no supercharger " ... my c230k is fast as hell (it's been molded, buy still)...buy I drove a non-supercharged c240 and its not the same whatsoever....it felt so slow...like a stock Honda or something, not like a Benz.

One of my favourite Mercedes-Benz models. Also a proud owner of a w202, mine is a 1994 C200 Diesel, after 27 years and 1 334 000 Kms still going strong.
@@bringme1152 yes, when I bought the car I thought that car had 270.000kms, but after 3 years the valve cover gasket, and head gasket started leaking, upon replacement, I my mechanic called me and asked to talk to me, he showed me a timing chain with about 1.000.000 Kms and then showed me mine, mine was more worn out, that's when I found out real numbers of Kms that the car had.

I’ve just spent £995 and brought a ‘99 C Class W202 with a 12 month MOT to do a charity run from the UK across France and Spain into Morocco in North Africa. Through the Atlas Mountains, across the Western Sahara desert, Mauritania, Senegal and finally ending up in The Gambia where the car will be auctioned and the proceeds given to local children’s charities. Needless to say I chose my car wisely. This 23 year old car may have a few dings and localised rust spots on the front wings but it has passed every MOT since electronic records began in 2006 without any advisories. It’s previous owners have kept on top of maintenance and with 83,000 miles on the odometer the car still drives and looks like new inside - everything still works as it should. She still has ice cold air conditioning, cruise control, central locking and electric windows all working as they should. An amazing testament to the build quality of these cars.
I bought this exact car in white with a carbon fiber interior(mehh wood grain looks good) 108k miles, all for $2,500! Insanely great car for the age! I was born in 2000 and this car is older than me and that’s pretty cool! It’s got it’s quiets but overall I can still gap a few cars here and there and I added a tint and it definitely helps to make it look much more sport! P.S the emblems made me a Mercedes fan 🤙😩
the w202 is very special to me. We had a w202 C240 AMG since i was 5. was the first car I learnt to drive in and the first car i owned when it was transferred to my name. still runs perfectly today.

I'm just watching this video because I'm in Armenia and there are tons of old mercedes c classes driving around. A lot of the taxi drivers uses W202 c classes, some are kind of beat up but it's really impressive that all these taxies are first generation C classes from 1993-2000. The means all these cabs are between 22 and 29 years old. I remember when the C class first came out we looked down on it like some light, dinky mercedes but nowadays I'm really impressed, these things have really held up. They're very tough, long lasting cars. Interesting not many of the c class cabs here are diesel, in fact I haven't seen any diesel mercedes, only the vans and trucks. I think it might be that diesels are hard to start in the cold. Anyway, yeah the C class was a worth successor to the 190E, these cars are tanks. They're really excellent cars. I by the way drive a 2006 E 320 CDI. It blows me away, it's like have a 440 Hemi it has so much torque, I keep getting in drag races with V8 cars and it can lay down. I'll also say mercedes are better cars then BMW's. BMW's are great but they don't have the industrial level of design that Mercedes has, I would much rather have a automatic. I can just control the power and hold onto the steering wheel and focus on controlling the car. Shifting gets tiring, I enjoy how comfortable and smooth my mercedes is, and a torque converter is better and last longer.
I own a 99' c230k thats been lowered, supercharger pulley is changed, aftermarket intercooler, aftermarket locking/unlocking rear-end....it was built to drift/race. I've had that little i4 to 155mph. (It would have hit 160, but was shaking so much I had to let off lol) I love it and it will never be sold. (I've had it for almost 7 years now with no problems except the ignition)
Me too!! C180 elegance, beige exterior, beige interior, model 1994 with only 180k km! My dads car who is not driving any more, so I really think of starting to use it…greetings from Athens!
My father had every c class till the 2008 Model. He had the previous one in black. Interestingly he had this Model the w202 basically twice. For some years as the pre facelift Model in blue with the same as shown in this video. And as the next one he had the one shown in the video. With the same color. So i grew up with this car and itll always have a special place in my heart. I love it. We drove all the way to Morocco with those. No issues
My C230 Kompressor is silver, has black interior with “Carbon Fiber-ish” patterns where the wood is white gauge clusters and black and gray seats.Oh but I’m missing the amazing cup holder. They’re so unbelievably hard to find.
Very cool! I’m guessing yours is a “Sport” trim? They have a lower cladding badge that says sport on both the driver and passenger fender. The SLK I had available earlier this month was a “Sport” and featured the same carbon trim you speak of!
One think you dont mention about the key and the front doors handles. They have infrared sensors on them. If you put your key near the sensor and hold the lock button the windows and sunroof close. You can also lower with the open button. For that age that was something.
Good video. I totally agree and bought myself a 1998 C180 Classic. Bog standard, yet with a steel (!) sunroof and the orginal Becker radio. Old M-Bs are better engineered than any other make and I have tried many (Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Volvo, Peugeot, Chrysler, Alfa, etc.). Yet my C70 Coupe beats it with regards to rust and the 5 cilinder in the Volvo is one of a kind. I'm not sure which car I prefer, that's why I have both :-).
I handed my 2000 C230 Kompressor down to my son at 133,000 miles. I had purchased it from the original owner in 2017 (garage kept) in GREAT shape. My son has continued to keep it in pristine condition with still under 150K miles. Other than routine maintenance, synthetic oil ever 8K miles and a set of tires it hasn't needed much other than some trim replacement and just replaced an ignition coil. Next up - new headliner that's been creeping loose and of course replacing the broken POS center cup holder. Anyone know of a better solution/mod for the center cup holder?
What did you guys do to fix the sagging headliner? My grandfather just gave me his '96 W210 E280 and everything on the car is basically in perfect condition, except for the headliner.
Great video. I had a Metallic silver 1997 C200 W202 for 15 years with great reliability that may be as good as W123. I only upgrade it when a good offer came about with a new E200 W212.
My first car is a c180 1997 elegance model, my grandpa gave it to me since he can't drive anymore because of his poor vision and his age (84 years old), so i took it before 2-3 months with 114.000 km and now i am somewhere at 115.200 i think, I LOVE IT, it is just powerful and beautiful. Fun fact everyone loves it. I am 18 years old and everyone is telling how lucky i am cuz i got a nice car 😂. I want to keep it for as long as it can last ! It is amazing car
I owned a C230 kompressor, automatic and in a perfect condition. Running on 258,000km, I have been driving it for 3 years smoothly without any serious issues. But just recently I started considering the Peugeot 406. Is it a wise decision to swap my Benz to the 406. Advice needed AsAP.
I think 202 had the best front end look in a C Class. Quality wise, 203 feels feels nicer to drive. Better suspension, more engaging steering, better quality interior and more useful functionalities. I've had the C250 TD manual (202) and C270 (203) manual.
I run a 1998 Mercedes C220 CDI turbodiesel with a 5-speed automatic as my daily driver. 367.000 km and still going strong. Very easy to drive as it's pretty narrow (1.72 m wide) and the engine has good torque (300 NM). Great fuel economy too (5,7 liter/100 km). But it also has got some major disadvantages : it rusts terribly, seats are uncomfortable, AC system is unreliable and the steering is too light and devoid of feel.
The mercedes W115/114 was the very first C-class and after that model the W201 - 190 came. They were not offical named ''C'' but they count as the real first ones
I have a W201 "original C-class that was not a c-class yet", from 1991, starts up first time everytime, 500k Km with it's 75hp diesel engine, the only thing wrong with it are it's 30Y.O plastics, costs less that 500€ year in maintenance
Hola Sres..... MARAVILLOSO. Matriculado nuevo en marzo del año 2000. Saludos desde el puerto de Mahon España 🇪🇸.

They are fantastic cars, I just sold this car last week to a gentleman in the southern Virginia area. I’m really going to miss it, perhaps one day I’ll have another W202!
I have a w202 c 220, American 1999 model. I bought it in 2012. I swear it's the best car in the world until this year when the air flow meter and atiator went bad. Speed balance built like a sedan amoured vehicle, sweet steering. I feel like crying cos I want to trade it for a first generation honda CRV.
@@ScriptureWisdomAndInspiration hahaha I won't try that again. I was angry with the brain box issue and felt I should sell it for a simpler drive around vehicle that is very easy to maintain but now I understand the c class perfectly now so I will keep my love and save money to add a honda CRV 2k model Cos it hardly gets spoilt. I don't really like new model cars. They look like toys and they are no more made of steel and iron
Older Mercedes and BMWs were built worth a damn, the 2017 W205 I leased (new) was a total POS, the engine threw a rod with less than 50,000 miles on the odometer and despite it being a leased car, MB corporate threw a hissy fit over having to pay the dealership 15,000EURO to replace the engine (the block was damaged when the rod ejected through the hood). That was the first and last Mercedes I will ever lease/own. MB customer service is horrendous.

Great video. I had a Metallic silver 1997 C200 W202 for 15 years with great reliability that may be as good as W123. I only upgrade it when a good offer came about with a new E200 W212.
Grandma has had two of these W202's.
A 2000 C280 in silver like this one, and,
A 2000 C240 Kompressor in tan.
Hahahah I'm also 18, driving my dad's C220 1999. Elegance, still goes strong
@@nikolajovanovic1505 U ARE A LEGEND
@@GigaChad-hn2xu you too my man 🤣👍
Absolutely love ur videos, keep up the good work.
The Dislike is from BMW owner 😂
I have a 2000 model year C43 AMG in burgundy. Only 25 imported into the US that year and only 1 in burgundy.
Update : still driving it, now with 380.000 km on the clock !
The mercedes W115/114 was the very first C-class and after that model the W201 - 190 came. They were not offical named ''C'' but they count as the real first ones
What a great car! The last of the real ones!
This car is the best class c ever made until today
What can cause 202 to break an exhoust cam and what could be the possible damage
The sun roof can also raise up in the back when it’s otherwise closed.
Lovely restoration.
I have a W201 "original C-class that was not a c-class yet", from 1991, starts up first time everytime, 500k Km with it's 75hp diesel engine, the only thing wrong with it are it's 30Y.O plastics, costs less that 500€ year in maintenance
I have the c230k with over 300k on the clock..still going strong
Pls can we arrange for one unit of c class 230 kompressor to be shipped to Nigeria??
can i ask what this car went for? I have been trying to figure out fair market value for one with low miles, so i dont over pay lol
but better than the w202 is the w204. this c class is qualitatively the best mercedes has ever built.💪
My favorite is the w203
yes also beautiful and has the best engine in the c32 amg@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess
looks great with the shiny wheels on!
My first car, Just like that slk but 6speed 200 kompressor, So good! and my new car the w202 1998, Love it!
Hey i have the same car and same year but the trunk doesn't open all the way when i open it with the key how can i do it plz?
Check the springs that hold the boot lid
Please 🙏🙏🙏 is dis car still available?
Hola Sres.....

MARAVILLOSO.
Matriculado nuevo en marzo del año 2000.
Saludos desde el puerto de Mahon España 🇪🇸.

How much do you want for the SLK?😮😮😮
I have a 2003 SLK320 and a 2005 C230 (W203), I would love a W202.
Is this C230 by any chance still available for sale?
Excellent video good command on all features.
Please is this car still available
What is the difference between this and the 1995 c280
The 1995 C280 is an inline 6 cylinder M104 , this one is 4 cylinder M111.
@@OmarOsman-j1v oh ok thanks for the response.
I have one as well mines is slammed and blacked out, a true masterpiece by Mercedes😍 but I’m interested in buying this one too if you’re not located far away (I’m in California)
They are fantastic cars, I just sold this car last week to a gentleman in the southern Virginia area. I’m really going to miss it, perhaps one day I’ll have another W202!
@@Markdasmiths ohhh dang that’s unfortunate for me, but I’m sure that guys gonna love that car
Hi.
By "blacked out" you mean all black on the exterior including the wheels?
show me your mercedes! wanna see how that looks
@@marcisvasilis6938 got a Instagram or sum I can send the pics to?
Is it good to have a single wiper? It's the only thing I dont like in this car
my first merc was a W202. TIll 2020 when a Holden rear ended me. :( great cars still miss mine
Hello, is it still available?
The w202 is good but in my opinion the w204 is the best. No rust, no issues.
Please is the w202 still available for sale? And how much is the car? Am from Nigeria Please inbox me
It's sold around 2ml to 2.3ml
@@abbasadam757 can it fly for 700k

You still could see true Mercedes cues on the design that dissapeared with the next gen

So this model doesn't have heated seats?
Have you sold it yet?
