Grew up in the back of one of these when i was a kid. Mum and dad had a silver one. Was brilliant.

Have one and love it! I have a newer Mercedes and when you shut the doors on both you can tell the difference. Old ones are solid!

@@wahpanda1520 the newer ones will never be affordable whit their record of for instance bursting out in flames.
Models C, E, CLA and GLA from 2015-2017 had this problem.
@@wahpanda1520Usually like 5 years after they’re out most ppl can afford a Mercedes unless it’s a AMG or costly model like S Class those will still cost a bit

When Mercedes was The Best Or Nothing
Agree W205 is a mess the quality and reliability at the worst for any german car i ever own. Cost cutting is too much make the car didn’t serve the badge at all.

I own a c200 w202, 1998 model, M111 engine. Car runs great and more stable and comfortable than most of these new japanese cars here in Africa.

Update : i am driving it 6 months now and despite some small problems it is pretty much nice and super comfortable ❤️
Nothing drives like a Mercedes-Benz
I drive a C280 with the M104 engine. I haven't been in any of my friends new cars that drives as well as mine does. I'd have to pay a lot of money to get a better ride.

2 months ago I was driving very fast, turn came, 2000 year c180 rolled over two times, but nothing happened to 3 people in the car. Safety top notch
I still daily my 1996 C36 AMG. Still runs like new and doesn't have all the computers and governing systems like newer Benz's

Merc w202 still the best Merc ever made, I've got the c180, m111, 1995 model and the c220, Allegiance, 1996 model and will not swop any one of them for a new Merc. I work n my own cars and they are like red wine the older they get the more I enjoy them.

Elegant, classic, luxurious, and these days: affordable! To maintain and own! You just have to bear with a higher parts cost and gas price per gallon since it only takes premium 91 octane.
You can put regular gas the electronics will compensate for it with no ill effect
A question for all w202 owners, your central vent has only cold and a/c air (no worm air)? I don't know if in mine is normal
W201 was the last true Mercedes. It marked the end of Mercedes excellence. Electronic nightmare.

The beginning of cost cutting at Mercedes-Benz.
I think it was still too early for the W202 for the worst cost cutting. The most evidence of accountants counting pennies was the W210.

it looked from the rear end rather Japanese.
@@apl175 The cost cutting was REALLY amped up with the w220, but they distracted customers with all this new fancy tech, so they didn't seem to mind.
@@apl175 w210 is undestructable like w202. Corrosion is just an ecology affect.

I never regret all the time I have spent restoring my 1995 C280. But it finally pushed me over my budjet due to the nature of the mechanicl transmision of the 1995. RIP C280

So they made the four valves per cylinder diesel feel more like a gas engine across the whole rev range
Yes was good car I have like this 5 years ago c class 240 v6 sport 1999 was good car now is hard too find but is OK I have my Mercedes s55 AMG 367BHP V8 am happy 😊

I had a 190 cosworth like the black one at the start of the video with the skirts well made just dam unreliable all this was 25 years ago and the cost of repairing the sun roof twice the head light wiper the rear brake caliper never got round to fixing the cold starting issues and the fuel cost is why to thus day I do not have credit cards and will never buy a merc anyway great video 😪👍

I've had my c230k for 20 years, it's got over 300000 miles on the clock,a few things have gone wrong or worn out but nothing that stops it driving..
