DO NOT try to contact Luka to get in touch with me.
Lahko mi pišete tudi v slovenščini.
That's great timing, was only wondering this week where to find a large fabric shop 👍
It is very brave, to try to do something new, where you have to figure things out as you go. This is inspirational. Great role model for your kids. As usual awsome video.
You have a friend in Kranj. 😉
Bless you Mariah, another fun and informative video! For an American (my mother's parents from Slovenia, father's parents from Italy) to get to see slices of life in Slovenia - well it's quite a treat. Your skirt is beautiful. I love the way it swings freely. You're a champion! And I'm with you - I love the red, black graphic fabric too. Just take it step-by-step with the robe.
Beautiful, love them, my style 👍🙌✌️🤩
I would be very interested in your story, how you started working here in Slovenia after you moved, what was your first job, what did you do and even what do you do now.
This reminds me when I was little my mother liked to make skirts and other things and I watched it and adored this is touching you are so creative 🤗 and it was common when people go to to some family or friends to buy some fabrics as a gift for females it was a simbol of respect
Oooh! I love that idea!
You look great Mariah 👍❤️ and your family too of course🤗
Thank you!
The part where it said "Mariah's thinking face" is the truest statement. I always enjoy when you make that face and ponder for a bit. :) Great job! Proud of you friend!
Mariah, you are in a Heart if Europe where society of most all nations took care in the past about their OUTFIT, lifestyle etc. It a tradition of Slovenia, rest if Balcans and all the neigbouring countries too. Not just for the upper class but it was also a middle class ting and in the past also workers.
you are a real pro. Looking forward to see the clothes finished on model Mariah. 😊 and that fabric, that pattern is really so great... 🥰
Beautiful Fantastic have a great day pozdrav from Montreal Canada
You are actually able to make your own clothes? Oh, My! You are really something!
Looking great as always :) Keep positive !
Omg pooor Luka 🙏😩
2nd to comment! 😃 you can get lost for hours there...Hope you show us the final product!👍🏻 Enjoy the making...🙋♀️
You need to visit Giesse Scampoli then 😁 it’s in Gorizia right next to the border, prices, fabric 50 to 80% cheaper 🙃
if you google "šivalnica kroji" you should get plenty of of patterns :)
You can do it!
The mask thing :-(
Great store
I just discovered this store a few weeks ago but its only open for online pickup! Would love to wander around for hours like in your video. I also don't have a lot of pattern drafting experience but a ton of sewing experience, any leads for finding patterns in Slovenia?
Do you snowboard? Let's all go snowboard
I have, but mostly ski. I haven’t done either in over 15 years 😬
I have JANOME SKYLINE S9! Pozdrav iz Hrvatske!
These shops are like black holes, I totally relate :)
Hahaha exactly!
Kdaj bo še kakšen video v slovenščini. Obožujem vse tvoje videe, kar tako naprej.😊💓💪✌
Kmalu 😊
💓
Mariah, what do you consider when buying a sewing machine for home practice?
My skill level. What is something I can use now and what is something I can improve my skills on for the next few years.
👍👍👍
And all my mom had was burlap... I can still feel the itch...
Try Burda magazine - www.burdastyle.de and in English; www.burdastyle.com/sewing-patterns.html. I think in Slovenia you only get the German version in print at newsagent's, but you can also shop online for individual patterns. Good luck!
Was it hard to switch from imperial to metric units and have you switch?
I did switch and it’s now SO MUCH BETTER! Metric for the win!
Make a video how did u and luka meet
Dear Ms. Mariah,
I trust this message finds you in good health and high spirits. I loved your video presentation and its content. I am reaching out with great enthusiasm about the possibility of collaborating on a new clothing collection. My ambition is to transform technical drawings into tangible, high-quality garments, and I believe your expertise in fabric selection and design could be invaluable in bringing this vision to life. I would be deeply grateful if we could discuss how you might assist me in this creative endeavor.
Looking forward to the opportunity of working together.
Warmest regards,
Osman
If you want to step up on Metrazo you should contact Jessica Jagec to make you custom fabrics: instagram.com/jessicajagec/ (a girl from Prekmurje) :) ... so your creativity will not have limits :)
:o)
How about some kimono style robe? There are a lot of easy DIY videos here on YT, and you dont need extra material for sleeves. And its pattern free😃
Great idea 💡
@@MariahDolenc yeah i bought some basic cotton 'tetra' fabric from svet metraze, and was going to do the same😀 just some basic kimono robe and it is easy to make (i'm just a beginner in sewing) 😊
We demand a new video!
Hahahaha
For a Spanish speaking person to pronounce your last name correctly, it will have to be spell Dolens. Fun fact, I read, that Mariah a variation of the name María only began to be use in the United States, till the 1990s thanks to Mariah Carey.
Not true, c is like ts, not like s. :) Those are two different letters.
@@saralampret9694 I speak Spanish, I think I know.
Ok
To be more correct you would spell it “Dolents” because the c is a sharp c so it sounds like ts. I don’t think it is used in Spanish, but in English it is similar to the way “pizza” is pronounced.
And I came before Mariah Carey was known 😂 “Moriah” is a biblical place so I think that has some influence. I don’t know!
@@MariahDolenc To tell you the truth, I had already forgot the context in which I wrote this, you are right we don't have a ts sound in Spanish, hence my explanation on how your name will have to be spell for us to come up with the desire pronunciation to English. La Real Academia Española says that, if we don't speak or read a foreign language, we can pronounce it as we see any given word, that is why we Spanish speakers tend to mispronounce your last name, cheers.
Patterns and stuff: Maybe Ana from www.flikepike.si/ can help you out.
raj za ženske, pekel za moške
Nice mask 😂😂😂 NPC
Please no makeup no more.. naravno je nsjlepše.. verjetno bi se tudi Luka strinjal
