      This is a more detailed video that I actually used to do the removal. ruclips.net/video/ea3mA_UFla8/видео.html I had no clue it was so easy. And with an OBD1 car, I knew I wouldn’t get a check engine light. The engine bay looks 10 times better without all those pipes, hoses and valves in there!

    • @WorkingWithWimberley

      Yes you can do it. You might get a check engine light from doing it. If you remove the air pump, you don’t need the air pump hoses anymore.

    Question. Can the air pump be used to power air bags? How much psi is coming out of that thing?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  6 месяцев назад

      It pumps fresh air into the exhaust at the manifolds to dilute the exhaust gasses and provide more oxygen to ignite the air in the catalytic converters. I doubt if it could be used for something else, but I'm not 100% sure. I have no clue how much PSI it makes. You may have better luck in one of the LT1 forums.

    What benefit do you get for deleting the air pump?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  7 месяцев назад

      As I state at 0:16 I’m just doing it to clean up the engine bay. There’s no significant benefit. It would be a slight weight savings and less parts on the engine. That’s about it.
