With this price, it’s hard to criticise Indian and Chinese cars. Great value for your money. I prefer Japanese cars but I’m glad we have cheaper alternatives.
i owned a chery i wasn't to much of a fan tbh a huge down grade from what i had before hand. but i got the xuv700 ax7 and i love it so much its on par with what i had before the chery maybe alittle better
I never liked Japanese cars, even before Chinese EV is a thing. its like you are buying 60s tecnology in 2000s, cheaper reliable but never feels good. and I always prefer European or USA style handling, Japanese handling is not necassarily bad, but it always feels bad. and the NVH is usually a disaster. now we have Chinese cars, fancy and practical at the same time, and they are cheap.
Most people have that preference because Japanese was the only option till now for normal reliable cars. We have used Mahindra and Tata cars for decades and they're just as good if not better plus they're affordable
I have got 2 of these in a span of an year now and they're outstanding. The 2024 - not a black edition one is a bit better (can't put my finger on what has changed) but it just feels better. Had it been for Thar, they have shot the sales through the roof - I can take bets on that ! Hopefully with Stellantis folding up, Mahindra gets the green signal to launch the Thar
Well, the Thar Roxx isn't there in Australia [yet]. If Carsauce is watching this comment section, I do have the Thar Roxx available for sale [from India]. You do have to import to Australia, but we might be able to assist on that. If interested Matt or Jacob, you can get in touch with us for further details. I might be able to help you in reviewing one provided you want to come to India.
What's the point in reviewing in India if they can't buy it in Australia anytime soon. Just for fun purposes like they drove the normal Thar back in Chennai plant? 🤔. Also isn't importing this car can get one in trouble coz of the Jeep lawsuit or can anyone bypass that by buying it here n importing it to Australia, that seems too much trouble isn't it. People shouldn't import this car coz too much money will be wasted for processes rather than the actual car, that seems a poor financial situation.
Wait for Mahindra Born Electric, BE Series. They are some of the most futuristic looking cars in an affordable price. Mahindra BE05 is going to launch in india soon. One of the best looking car ive ever seen 🔥
MRF - Madras Rubber Factory, been around for a looking time. Pretty high-quality tires. Stateside, the only Mahindra's we get is the Roxor and tractors. I hope they get here because I feel it will sell very well. Are these selling well in Australia ?
I never heard of xuv petrol tuned as I think they use old Porsche ECUs said by a Indian journalist they are hard to crack. diesels are a different thing they have piggy back ECUs for those and they have a good upgrade from it. I think the petrol could be tuned might be a bit difficult as it's not been done before or not that I know of
Mahindra is dong fantastic job for half the price of tesla model y long range AWD, soon Mahindra BE 05 EV etc series launching half the price of tesla model y AWD. That is what is i am looking at. Hell with tesla rest are catching up as an EV enthusiast. Its decade late still .
It's tested on GNCAP and it got 5 stars, ANCAP has a different testing protocol but this car is definitely engineered and built well structurally and also has active safety features.
I would choose XUV700 for the following reasons 1. Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max requires 95RON fuel and is less efficient. XUV700 runs on 91RON. 2. Chery's active safety systems is very intrusive and not calibrated well. 3. XUV700 has an australian ride and handling tune and rides better than Chery. 4. 3rd row access on the XUV700 is on the curb side unlike the Chery. Also it is one touch fold and tumble. 5. XUV700 Aisin torque converter auto is better tuned than the Chery's DCT 6. XUV700 gets physical AC controls unlike most chinese and some euro cars these days.
In India XUV 700 ax7 L dark edition comes in white interiors but how the hell are the interiors black there as there is no black interiors for dark edition too in India ply reply
Why don't you guys say anything about the issues people are facing with the infotainment? Considering the price point, yes it have a 360 degree camera, but the video is very laggy and of low quality. on top of that, very very bad at night. Looks like a sponsored video to me!!.
Drive both of them and see the practicality and then choose. Do check things like how easy or difficult it is to get in and out of the car. No car reviewer tells you that. Especially if you are buying small cars. I have a Hyundai Venue and getting in and out of the car is a challenge. Especially for the Indian women who wear sarees. Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon are much more practical vehicles than Hyundai Venue. That's why I ask you to check the practicality.
Yeah, the same was said about Japanese, Korean, Thai & Chinese cars. Currently the most popular in Aus is made in Thailand. The Teslas we get are made in China and are known to be far higher quality than those made the US. At least the Indians are passionate about cars and know which side to put the steering wheel on!
Hysterical how many Australians who live in a tiny country, think they are more demanding that the billion Indians and billion Chinese consumers, yet would not buy Australia made cars ....funny

Mahindra is overwhelmes with the advanced bookings of ROXX. No chance they can get hands on it by themselves for next 3 years
@@LplusRatioLolSecond hand they can take from India after making some Indian buy it, simple.

MRFs are the best tyre brand India can offer no cap
Ask them to see MRF share 😅
Not really. It’s Vredestines.
I have three Mahindras but haven’t got the suv yet. Might be on the cards.
Just the PikUps?
@@CarSauce nope one Scorpio, one work pack and one well body.

They are trash tyres, no car guy in india thinks that MRFs are good. They are just cheap and that is exactly why companies use them.
Great and fun to watch your reviews! Can this Petrol engine be tuned for more power? Any clue when the diesel would be available
I wish they had the diesel upon the initial release with the AWD.
Thanks! You could, but I would wager it’s already got a pretty high boost to the turbo already

Very good value for money will they eventually release a hybrid SUV
In 2026😊
7 seaters are so weird. You put a baby seat in and a pram and you end up with a 5 seater
they get the black edition we get the blaze edition wtf!!
Goodone guys... is there a hybrid variant in the pipeline?
For that price this is actually the best car to get
A steel wheel with a completely different brand (and, by the looks of it, diameter wheel) is not a "full size spare".
I noticed that too. I am reading through comments to see if anyone else had picked that up... Was disappointed to see that.
Great value, but no mention of ANCAP safety or safety at all apart from radar. Or did I miss it..?
No ANCAP rating, they haven’t tested it
It's tested on GNCAP and it got 5 stars, ANCAP has a different testing protocol but this car is definitely engineered and built well structurally and also has active safety features.
Can you please ask Mahindra what grade of oil to use in xuv 700. Because in India they are not revealing the grade of the oil.Thank you!!
Castrol oil guide says 5W-30 API SP for the gasoline engine. The diesel will be different

How XUV700 is doing in Aus?
Nice review, daddies 👍
It lacks an illuminated driver' side mirror... it fails the wife test.
XUV700 vs Tiggo 8 Pro Max, what would you choose?
