Thanks again for the in-depth comparison and for covering such an important aspect of modern cars.
ADAS works at high speeds but AEB might necessarily not since most systems do not bring the car to a complete halt from speeds above 80-100km/h. You only get warning and a light tap on the brakes, not full braking force. And, yes, it detects stationary objects as long as they are vehicles. ADAS systems work based on the imaging produced by the camera/radar. That's why it's categorically mentioned that these systems can only detect pedestrians, cyclists/motorcyclists, or vehicles.

It works based on the imaging produced by the camera and radar. In this case, our dummy was made to look like a human (5'10, limbs/arms wide open, etc..), which is why it worked and detected it.
Hey, 1. Refer the AEB test standards to understand the performance requirement as per regulation. 2. Honda stopping and releasing in few seconds explains safety feature for rear ending from another vehicle 3. Would want to know more about the dummy you've made😀
Good video to demonstrate new users what technolgies are coming or existing in the cars so that customers not only see the designs or features like big screen in the vehicle but also safety features great work
The cars roll off after Emergency Braking to avoid a rear collision. Since you have margin in the front, it can be utilised to give more room for the vehicle behind to brake as well
Don't know about mg but as a person who have driven volvo, they give most of the control to the driver. They only kick in at the last moment and try to reduce the damage than outright just avoid it. This is done to avoid unnecessary intrusion of the safety systems. I am not trying to defend volvo here but the systems between different manufacturers are tuned differently.
You are misleading people. I have been using Astor for last 2 and half years. ADAS is perfect. It has PILOT mode which starts working only when you cross 40 km per hour speed. I have been driving my car extensively on highways without any issues whatsoever. Don’t misguide people. And there are enough of people here texting in their Chinese sourced mobile commenting about mg as Chinese gimmicky car. All ADAS functions of Astor work exceptionally well. For that matter even auto headlamps work only when you cross 40km/ per hour speed. First of all you don’t even know the settings of ADAS . There is a pedestrian detection switch which should be enabled. ADAS works well even in city stop and go traffic if put on adaptive cruise mode.
Not only this any day radar based ADAS are more superior than camera based. Radar based works very well irrespective of climate/ fog / rain. That way Hyundai/ Kia have both system. The poorest of them is Honda.
If i am not wrong MG Astor was the first budget consumer suv that introduced adas in India way before creta, safari, nexon, seltos etc. But AEB in this astor has literally failed. I hope its not the same with the other adas features. MG image in India is very low, and with adas failing it will hurt their sales even more.
Vow. You don’t care about the critics and sales numbers. You don’t need influencers to boost the sales. You don’t need competitive ads! You don’t need to throw in gimmick features and turbos just to compete in boosting sales. When it comes to automobiles and machines, reliability is the first to be seen. The No.1 smartphone brand don’t give you the latest hardware. But gives you the reliability. The loyal customers who buy those smartphones and cars will be consistent and never turn up to other brands or envy other brands. Being sold in less numbers doesn’t mean it has less value. It’s unique and those who bought them are unique as well in choosing. Value them as Independent thinkers who seeks reliability and those can be considered reliable, professional, trustworthy and loyal 😊
I own an ICE XC40, and she has saved me a couple of times from the worst. The only explanation for this Recharge messing up, that i can think of is that it's faulty. Whatever the reason, the result here is quite surprising.
As an Astor owner myself, I am happy the MG isn't the only one to fail the test. 😂😂 It has a Volvo to "look down upon". 😂 Having said that, the response of the ADAS system in the car used for the test is very surprising. I've noticed auto emergency braking work quite well with my car and I keep it at low sensitivity. Even pedestrian collision avoidance has worked a few times. It hasn't failed in my car as spectacularly as it has in the test car.. Very surprising.
why is distance being used to review the adas ? i think distance wise it should be both neither late nor early . i think verna was best !!! there should be prior warning and then brakes if user doesn’t brake !!
I watched the whole video, I only saw AEB, but ADAS is a bigger module, you should also discuss lane assist, driving intrusions, warning systems, reading signs and everything that comes in package.
As long as we don't compare results at night, rain or fog, these videos dont make much sense as you cant distinguish between radar+cam and only cam system!
These systems work well regardless of the time of the day. As long as the headlamps are working, there’s no problem in detecting/imaging the dummy. Wasn’t an issue for the cam-based Honda. For foggy/bad weather conditions, we will have to plan the shoot based on the weather forecast. Maybe we can do a short video around Dec/Jan in Delhi. Let’s see…

Curve's charging port😂😂😂😂... is it a feature or what.?😂😂😂😂 18:56
Yea have the same question
😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
Error 404 😂
Honda being new Volvo in this test. 😅
honda was actually the first company before the teslas of the world to introduce level 3 autonomous driving tech in Japan. Obv this is an iteration of that so it will be polished
Great video guys. Also please see if guys can also test this using 'Late' senstivity option since this is most apt in India
It's really helpful for us. Can you please do a test on Creta, 3XO, Thar Roxx and Alcazar. Please.
Is cruise control mandatory for AEB to work? Just wanted to understand how vehicle perform in higher highway speeds rather than 40
No, it's not. AEB works independently. But yeah the same camera/radars are used for Adaptive Cruise Control.
Other brand SUV's but hyundai sedan why?
U could had used Creta( it also has adas )
Not fair.
Excellent video by the way.. need more of these kind..
3:39 too many "HAVE TO include"...feels like you had to do it out of compulsion even when you didn't want to include.
Honda ADAS ❤ SUPER
Hazard lights should automatically be turned on during emergency braking
Looks like the tester is biased towards Kia Hyundai and Tata Mahindra... But really don't wanted appreciate Honda at the best level high basis
Pls test in night and low light conditions. Does camera based adas not worked in this conditions?
19:10 why curvv’s charging port is opening while braking😂
Actually it's a safety feature not to block the charging port.
@@darakarthikeyasrivatsa8337 to charge after crash 😂 ?
@@aldrinpabraham6932 😂 Tata engineers living in parallel universe.
Can you tell me if the AEB of Xuv700 is working in front of card board. Because as per dealer it's detect only metal objects. I'm confused. Cz my xuv700 is not working even for pedestrians.
It works based on the imaging produced by the camera and radar. In this case, our dummy was made to look like a human (5'10, limbs/arms wide open, etc..), which is why it worked and detected it.
@@autoX But in my case it doesn't even stopped in front of live human. Don't know if the problem is in my car or for all the same.
Loving these old school videos. Its got the early 2000s feel to it❤
Please do a video after proper service from Volvo and MG.
Hey,
1. Refer the AEB test standards to understand the performance requirement as per regulation.
2. Honda stopping and releasing in few seconds explains safety feature for rear ending from another vehicle
3. Would want to know more about the dummy you've made😀
i own mg hector and aeb works perfect. infact I have switched it off considering the uncertain indian traffic.
Fantastic Fantastic Video....Appreciate ur efforts and completely exposing MG & Volvo standard....Subscribing❤
26:17 why Charging port always opens during Braking????
Mg Astor seems the best one, gives a close warning to the pedestrians
Honda is the clear winner in ADAS Comparison
Good video to demonstrate new users what technolgies are coming or existing in the cars so that customers not only see the designs or features like big screen in the vehicle but also safety features great work
Did you switch on Astor pilot, please clarify..
Elevate and seltos ❤
The cars roll off after Emergency Braking to avoid a rear collision. Since you have margin in the front, it can be utilised to give more room for the vehicle behind to brake as well
Don't know about mg but as a person who have driven volvo, they give most of the control to the driver. They only kick in at the last moment and try to reduce the damage than outright just avoid it. This is done to avoid unnecessary intrusion of the safety systems. I am not trying to defend volvo here but the systems between different manufacturers are tuned differently.
Honda is the best in market but people are fool what we can do. I bought honda city in jan 2024 and its the best
Tesla system is also camera based only, no radar. People saying radar in tata is better than Honda elevate will get a rude awakening
Appreciation for your Hard work ❤
For your kind information, MG Astor was the first indian car/suv to have ADAS and not Mahindra xuv700
Gloster*
Now make a night time/ rainy/ fog day with elevate you will come to know the true nature of camera based ADAS.
Don't bother my friend they ain't gonna change their opinion, tata has paid them well
@@BroZedd Aa gaya chapri
What's the performance at higher speeds like 80 or 100?
If i am not wrong MG Astor was the first budget consumer suv that introduced adas in India way before creta, safari, nexon, seltos etc. But AEB in this astor has literally failed. I hope its not the same with the other adas features. MG image in India is very low, and with adas failing it will hurt their sales even more.
No, the Mahindra XUV700 was the first to introduce ADAS in mass-market cars.
Honda is Honda ❤❤❤
As an Astor owner myself, I am happy the MG isn't the only one to fail the test. 😂😂
It has a Volvo to "look down upon". 😂
Having said that, the response of the ADAS system in the car used for the test is very surprising. I've noticed auto emergency braking work quite well with my car and I keep it at low sensitivity. Even pedestrian collision avoidance has worked a few times. It hasn't failed in my car as spectacularly as it has in the test car.. Very surprising.
Both are under Chineez Brand . It's very distinct 😂now .
Hands down! Honda sensing technology is the best!
why is distance being used to review the adas ?
i think distance wise it should be both neither late nor early .
i think verna was best !!! there should be prior warning and then brakes if user doesn’t brake !!
I think volvo may also rely on thermal sensors for adas braking, and might be the reason that metal dummy was partiality detected
Why did the charging flap opened with the car break or stopped ?
Thanks for the video!
I watched the whole video, I only saw AEB, but ADAS is a bigger module, you should also discuss lane assist, driving intrusions, warning systems, reading signs and everything that comes in package.
Yes, this is only the first part of the video. The second part is going live soon. Stay tuned!
Eagerly waiting for the second part.
Release after the breaking is a good thoughtful implementation as it reduces chances of collision from following vehicles.
You missed the Toyota innova hycross which also had an ADAS
oh the thumbnail image 🤩🤩
As long as we don't compare results at night, rain or fog, these videos dont make much sense as you cant distinguish between radar+cam and only cam system!
These systems work well regardless of the time of the day. As long as the headlamps are working, there’s no problem in detecting/imaging the dummy. Wasn’t an issue for the cam-based Honda. For foggy/bad weather conditions, we will have to plan the shoot based on the weather forecast. Maybe we can do a short video around Dec/Jan in Delhi. Let’s see…
When the so called radar systems fail to do the task in broad daylight, how can one be rest assured that it'll perform better in the fog or rain.😂😂😂
Mightly impressed with Elevate!
I actually like my XUV700's ADAS its non intrusive for daily driving and only engages when something really goes wrong.
Good work, guys.. fantastic vedio.. try to test adoptive cruse control and lane keep assist .. please
We have covered it in the second part of the video. It's going live soon. Stay tuned!
