Today Matt and Jacob drive the ALL-NEW 2025 Mahindra XUV700 Black Edition (or XUV7OO in some markets) from Melbourne, to rural Australia, and back to test out can the Mahindra XUV700 family SUV survive a VERY long drive.
The Mahindra XUV700 has a lot of cool features, including a blacked out grille, exclusive Napoli black exterior, a black interior, wireless Apple CarPlay and a few other nice features.
But how does it go driving on some of Australia's HARSHEST roads? Let's talk about that in today's video!

This test is almost 0.01% compared to what we Indians have done with Mahindras in India since its inception. It has been tested by all of India and all terrain.😀
xuv 700 : this is not torture this is my warmup😇
Bro what are you talking about we have great roads..and stop saying stuff like this its embarrassing
@@AyanBairagyaindia has pathetic roads. Only some highways are good that too heavy tolls
@@AyanBairagya did he said Anything about roads he just said things about India's different Terrains.
No need to be offended by Fkin everything

Mahindra should bring the diesel version of this XUV700 to Australia and South Africa. I am from South Africa and recently drove this XUV700. I was impressed by the vehicle. The only issue I had was the fuel economy and probably the gear box being a bit laggy on the upshifts.
Problem is the Australian government doesn't like diesel cars.
Bleak. We actually don’t have that issue here in SA. Not sure why they don’t bring it here especially since we had the previous XUV500 in diesel.
Fuel economy is low because Mahindra tune their Petrol engines, more for performance & responsiveness, instead for Fuel efficiency. Even in India their petrol motors are one of the best to drive, performance & responsiveness, is their card & not outright Fuel efficiency.
The non- introduction of Diesel engine can be due to, large order from India itself or there isn't enough sales or demand for it or taxation part & the CAFE rules!
@@imVyshakhThey won't be able to , got a $#!t load of orders in their Homemarket already . Some of them are not going to be delivered until 2026.
@@BlackHawkTejas That does makes sense. XUV700 petrol version is quite fun to drive. SA doesn't really have any strict rules against diesel vehicles. But the reason for not bringing the diesel version is most likely due to high demand in India. Mahindra is fairly popular in SA. People in SA also prefer diesel vehicles.
Honestly, the Mahindra ADAS is better than my Mercedes Driving Assistance. Mahindra is better fine tuned and feels a lot safe and under control compared to my Mercedes. You are 200% correct.
Bro got mercedes is more shocking then comparing a 14 k dollar car to Mercedes 😮
I mean, rich people in indiA are more different then anyone else in the world
@@Asura_clan Bro, I too was shocked by the Cars performance, built quality and price. Almost one third of the price of my Mercedes, but performs much better.
@@vickyherbart8396bro what do mean by copying technology, is it copyrighted or something?? Every branch will provide upto date technology and features on cars. Then you can say all cars are copy of the first one to be produced.
@@vickyherbart8396 go spew these nonsense somewhere , kid
@vickyherbart8396 world before your comment 🌍
After 🌍
If they copy design they are saving money if you think there business is run only by thar
Mahindra even uses there own engine
As an Indian I honorably disowns this kid as part of my country 🤡
By the way guys MRF is the best tryres for bad roads, it's tried and tested for decades on bad Indian roads full of potholes, some international brands don't survive as long as MRF
also, you can buy 1 xuv700 with just 30 shares of mrf
Madras Rubber Factory
MRF is international too
Nope, YOKOHAMA fits as per my usage
Always download Google maps so you have them offline. Then a lack of reception is no drama. That's what I do when I drive the Aussie outback in my XUV700.
Even if network isn't there maps do work, But needed not to discontinue the maps in between
Do you real think they didn't know where they were?
KMPL is the easiest to calculate range. It’s just a direct multiplication with the fuel tank capacity
@@sidjyothi It depends on which region you are from. In South Africa, we also use L/100km, which is a bit easier for us. But yes I understand what you are saying.
@@imVyshakh Yea but that L/100km logic doesn't help in City Condition that's where KMPL helps
@@Adwatismit is also variable from region to region, some use kmpl, some use l/100km, some use mpg
Mrf is few of the tyre manufacturers in the world who have the capability to manufacture fighter jet tires.
I drove alone with my mom from west India to eastern India (Bhopal-Sambalpur) almost 900+ kms and it went like a charm. Never felt tired, the car went through roads, patchy roads, no roads, and no pressure at all. I could have churned more kms that day if my road trip partner wouldn't have said ..we are good for today :D
I have driven 80 km past the point of zero range. Of course I have spare fuel as I do seriously crazy off-road stuff in my XUV700.
Not the best idea for fuel pump.
The vehicle manufacturers intentionally do this to ensure people dont drive on fumes
Can’t wait for Thar Roxx to been seen on road
I don't think so, it will come aus. coz in India it has 1 and half yr of waiting period 🥲
@@Curious_Mind_007 locally manufacture bhi ho sakta hai aus mai agar demand Mahindra cars ki bhare toh
176k booking in one hour in india only. U have to wait for almost 3 years for launch in Australia
@@Curious_Mind_007It will not come to aus because jeep has already filed a petition in aus for stealing the looks, so thar will no come to aus
Good to hear Jacob feels supported. That's what good partners do. Onya Matt. 👍
WTAF? Torture test? You drove a new car for 12 hours with a few KM on a dirt road.
Ah they just wanted to make another video they have already driven thar and xuv700 in Mahindra testing tracks and they got surprised that they are doing all this with thar and xuv700 but they didn't show xuv700 drive they only show thar drive in there tracks in India cuz the main focus was on thar to make some customers in the entire world wherever they sell it just creating hype because thar 5 door which will be legal to come to Australia....
Yeah just few hundred meters from the highway : "oh no we are lost in the middle of nowhere, look it's torturous offroad, I can hear the highway though"
These machines are tested in the ladakh(12000 ft) and thar desert, its nothing compared to those areas
...
@@pranabjohn8110 exactly , these guys will start shitting buildings instead of BRICKS . if they even get to watch any crazy Indian style testing..they will RIP. .Just dont know what they were trying to show off
Thanks you saved my time, after reading your comments I realised I was wasting my time for fake thumb nail video I stopped watching any further 😂😂😂
7:42 You can call it a safety feature. Like for example when you stop on the side of the road, and open the bonnet, it can alert others on the road, that there could be some problems with the vehicle & be cautious about it.
I've driven my 10-year-old Mahindra XUV500 for 1256 km nonstop and have never had a single issue. The engines on these things are amazing. However, I can't say the same thing about the plastic and overall upholstery quality.
waiting for you to test mahindra BE 6E and XEV 9E ... So cool they are
I'm seriously hyped for the Mahindra Thar, curious to see what it can do in Aus.
It's a good suv
it won't come to australia because of jeep
not allowed to launch in austrlaia coz of court case by jeep wrangler look alike thar only in INDIA
@@harleenwilliams213 Mahindra have altered it's look to differentiate it from a jeep.

The quality of parts in the export variants of the xuv700 is totally different than what the domestic models get.
As a Northern Territorian, forgive me for laughing at your predicament of being stranded in the 'outback'😂
Just few hundred meters off the highway : "oh no we are lost in the middle of nowhere, look it's torturous offroad, I can hear the highway though"
happy to see Indian brandS, showing its capability outside India.

because it’s totally wasn’t intended to farm on Indian views?
I am using last two years XUV 700 AXL awd Diesel in india.Amazing car sometimes we are driving almost 170 km. Average 120-140.We dont feel any tired..
😊 15:37 totally agree with this advice. & this is coming from someone who had met with an accident while trying to get home when i was tired. Nowadays whenever i am tired I'll find a place by the side of the road , a safe area and get a quick power nap before continuing my journey
Hi all, the roads in Indian villages are very bad, but cars can still drive without any issue. We all know that compared to Australia, driving here poses no problems.
100% when you buy an India car you drive any country and conditions😊
Dude seriously you are talking about MRF tyre... 1 share of this company cost 1500 USD. And you are saying you doubt the MRF tyres.
They never split their share... They have a very low volume of shares and low shareholders. A high price of shares does not mean company is best... However MRF is best 😅
Loved this trip on your Mahindra lads. ❤ That's a BIG car right there. Love the black edition!
I realised now that Mahindra is spelled in words in the tailgate in the Australian version of XUV7OO
In South Africa they stopped spelling it out since xuv300😮😮😮😮😮😮😂😂😂😂😂😢😢😢😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😂😂😂
Proud to be a Mahindra fan ❤❤❤
I just watched this again! Great stuff
I was hoping for more of a Whistlin diesel type of test🤣
8:17 Isn't km/L better to calculate everything. Let's say you have a trip that's 160km. With km/L it's as easy as dividing the distance by the fuel efficiency number to know how many litres you'll use. L/100km is only useful for easy calculation when the trip distance is a multiple of 100.
Booked my xuv700 awd diesel Napoli black yesterday. Excited for the delivery (in India not relevant here btw sorry)
Love the content boys; always cracks me up….on a serious note though what do you feel the long term reliability and cost of ownership would be over say 5 years?
Nice Mahindra suvs, waiting for BE 6e EVs...
Thar roxx should launch in Austrilia ASAP😊
Waiting period in india 1.5 years 😮 for roxx
@@hareeshkumarvasu6567 my dad is going to buy it i've heard it's way more reliable than the real one
It won't!! Cause Jeep sued
Bring Thar Roxx for Australia and South Africa
Its certainly on the Radar for Australian Market, Mahindra has lot gain by bringing Roxx to Australia, let's see how the guys at FCA behave!
brother the mrf tyres are built to run in the rough terrain thats ehy they are so rigid and reliable
17:12 You remind me of Charlie Kelly from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia 😂
Le MAHINDRA:-TORTURE, REALLY? WE CALL THIS AS A WARMUP🤣🤣
This is sponsored by Mahindra, but they can't even try to appreciate Indian Backpacker. A big F
Good & Happy to see Indian Engineering is well-received outside our country (in Australia and Netherlands).
Lovely video as usual...
Between, 700 Petrol Automatic recommends 95 Octane petrols not 91Octane brother!!
Do check that out before refilling next time ;-)
This car is bad sh*tbox absolute plastic crap
Gay car
Im Thinking of importing a Suzuki Dzire Petrol variant to my country because i personally think its a mid-range sedan which is quite reliable.
Is Mahindra & Mahindra is an Indian🇮🇳 brand
Do more of these vids
Xuv700❤🇮🇳
Make video on mahindra be 6 ev
How is this having all blacked out interiors?
looking forward for your thoughts on Mahindra BE 6E
Try out the new BE 6E from Mahindra.
I want to see the tiger snake guys.
It's Austraya afterall.
Australia* 🦘
come to India
In india The petrol version gives 200HP and it's fastest car in segment of 30Lakhs
And diesel also efficient and powerful but not too fast
I will recommend you to try New TATA SAFARI. I am sure you will be shocked by its comfort and performance.
Tata cars are not available for sale in Australia.
tata much better than mahendra
But it is available in fwd only😂
@Sandy-b7j be realistic. Check the sales figures. Tata cannot beat mahindra in performance and after sales service
Black SUV in a hot desert. Perfect.
As the name 📛 mentioned it's torture test not only for the vehicle but also for the occupants too..
At 17:00 something , it's like bro did just eat gooseberry his move
Its warmup for mahindra😊
Can u try to review mahindra classic Scorpio S
Hey mate could ya make a best cars for new guys 17-18 year olds can can't be more than one category like Ute's SUVs and maybe city cars like maybe sedans or performers?
This car looks okay. Although it is a bit outdated, generally speaking, it is still quite sturdy.
It looks better than any toyota suv that's for sure .
It has been 1 year since launch, and this car is having all modern features needed
It's bad
Travelled with scorpio about 1800 km in 2 days (not complete 48 hours )
2:32 "we have terrible roads" . come to India bro.
Do one for scorpio n too
Matt resembles like Rip in Yellowstone
Change the tires to soft Misclene or Yokohama and Boilla ...it glides...
hahaha 1100 kms of well paved highway is nuts.. I have driven like non stop 1750 kms in Indian highways - traffic, potholes, rains, you name it.. 1000+ kms are pretty routine stuff
in my Mahindra obviously, manual and non ADAS
I am watching from India 😊 love you brother ❤
1:36 See the discontinuity b/w panels (door lining) - hats off to RND budget!! 😇
Driving on plane road, what kind of torture test?
Google maps has offline download mode
MRF can't compete with Mischelene ...or Yokohama...change the tires and see the difference...
MRF are one of the best tyre here
Am waiting for torture test where is it?
I don't see proper appreciation for the MRF's there my friend, that is trouble alright.. The car was designed based on tires
It's not front wheel drive right
You haven't done any experiments yet😆..In India we take it to the mountains off-roading and that thing just soars up like a monster 💀
Mahindra and Tata are really coking🎉🎉🎉
Diesel or petrol?
Where is Mahindra ROXX 5 door
Honestly this is nothing for this Mahindra mid range elephant .it's just a smooth ride.
We use Km per Liter because we fill fuel in Liter and we mostly like to know how many KM can we cover in 1 Leter of petrol we cout the amout of fuel that we burn not the Km we have traveled
torture test the jimny 5 door
What's the top speed you guys have clocked?
I touched around 180kmph in Bangalore
I am not sure why people use litres per 100 kilometres. Kilometres per litre makes so much more sense. I filled 10/20/30 litres and I know what range I can expect from that
16 degrees is warm for u guys 😳
Thanks riview indian car mahindra XUV 700 i support do you channel ❤👍👍👍👍👍👍
get a 4x4 / AWD variant and it will be a winner
The petrol doesn't get it. And I'm not sure if Mahindra has launched the Black edition diesel in Australia.
Yah testing kha ho raha hai
My xuv goes through more torture than this on my daily work route.😂
Where is the tough part for xuv700😅
Xuv 700 is definitely a # tag.
But u could get better performance in the diesel version... could ve achieved a better milage
This grew up on Indian terrains..
12 houuurrrrsss of driving is not much guys…dont make fuss about it
Now you should try MAHINDRA XEV 6
Note the economy of 11.6L/100 at the refuel in Ouyen, note great economy on the highway,
Show us kangaroossss
Indian army uses Mahindra in all terrain …. Right from the Himalayas to the deserts.
We got Mahindra in Australia before GTA 6
Thanks
MAHINDRA,From India 🇮🇳 to the World 🌎
Thank you for saying "petrol station" instead of a "gas station" , because a "you-know-who-an" country calls a liquid ,a gas.
Handsome Australian bro
Mahindra should send these cars to serious testers rather then sending to noobs
