1. Rolling sounds wake your spouse when you go to the bathroom at night 2. The gap between the wall and door ensure your pooping sounds can be heard as well! 3. Poop smells vent into the room because the door doesn't fit flush against the wall.
Please accept my humble thanks @SuperTinyTurtle Your gospel has saved my soul. For theirs was only a tiny voice, but truly the voice of reason in the cathedral of super nifty sliding doors.
Did you do anything to the gap from the door to the wall when it is closed? I just installed mine and it’s on an outside wall and I have kids usually running everywhere and they can still look through spaces between the door and wall
There is not one on this door. But I have used a recessed type pull. If you google recessed barn door pull you should see something. You gotta notch out a section a wood with a router or similar tool and the recessed door pull will fit in the notch and not be in the way of the wall.
Sorry, I have not actually used a lock on this style door. I am not sure if a locking system is offered for the barn door. However, the pocket style doors have a locking system that is available.
The problem with these barn doors is how the bottom attaches. It’s not securely attached. When someone has bumped them on accident or my kids hit them on purpose they can literally fall off the top and thus come crashing down and kill a kid or seriously hurt an adult. They are very unsafe, I have a few and might get rid of them. My dad is old and even when he fell close to one cause he’s old the door almost smashed his head in. Haven’t seen a single person ever make a video on this
I agree they are not as safe a a regular door. However, this one has a system on top where it won’t come off the track. You have to take a screw driver and unscrew the mechanism to get it to come off the track.
@@msmommatoni it’s on there but if someone runs into it or hits it, like my young autistic 3 year old he’s easily hit it off the guideline and then you can swing it outward and pull it off the top hinge and the door can come down and crush the child or my kids chase each other and can’t stop and slam into it
I ripped out the old jamb completely. Then used 1x6 material to make a new opening/jamb. Then used 1x4 material as the casing to finally trim it out. It can be done without ripping the old jamb out but you will have to use a filler where the hinges were. I figured I could achieve a more professional look by doing it the way I did.
@JustinBiddix How do I copy this clink? Everytime I try it just brings up the box to reply to you. Or can you provide another way or link? I really want this same door.

All true! And should be considered for sure

If your spouse can’t put up with your shit then eh time to go lmao😂 good install
1. You try to explain this to a woman and she won’t care bc she wants barn door
@@djmystery7235 Right on!!
That’s gorgeous! Nice job installing!
Thanks!
How do you lock it ? Or it can't be blocked?

I hate flappy flap flap doors. Annoying lol.
Im doing one next week.
Such a space saveer!
Yours looks great! 😊🇬🇧
I’ve got this same kit and I’m having issues with the instructions, if you could spare a second to answer some questions that’d be cool
Yeah I’ll try to help. Hit me with questions.
Looks really good!! How long did it take you to install?
Thanks! About 2 days total
Out with perfectly functioning door, in with another one that just looks better 😂
Very accurate comment
What does it look like on the other side though?
How flush is it to the baseboards? Do they have spacers to adjust?
This one was within an inch or two. It came with spacers. You could trim them to adjust if you need to.
Is that vinyl flooring if so what brand and pattern?
How to lock it?
is there actually a handle on the other side? Seems any handle would hit the wall.

No lock??
We got it and love it!
What lock or locking system do u recommend

I need this.

Couldn't they fix that just by putting another track on the bottom?.. Or am I being crazy here?
There should be a bracket on the floor that keeps the door from swinging out. It's called a Barn door floor guide.
@@msmommatoni it’s on there but if someone runs into it or hits it, like my young autistic 3 year old he’s easily hit it off the guideline and then you can swing it outward and pull it off the top hinge and the door can come down and crush the child or my kids chase each other and can’t stop and slam into it
Let me know if your getting rid of them I’ll stop by to pick them off your hands
How to lock from inside
But can you lock it? 👀 genuinely curious
Not this one. There may be a lock kit that I am not familiar with
There are lock kits you can buy that are for barn doors.. it’s pretty much done type of latch system that keeps out locked
Wait a minute it's 2024 those are already old style now they have new style doors instead of barn doors
What did you do to change the door jamb?
I ripped out the old jamb completely. Then used 1x6 material to make a new opening/jamb. Then used 1x4 material as the casing to finally trim it out.

No
How do you lock barn doors?
I’ve personally not seen a lock on one. Probably like a screen door latch would work
@@JustinBiddix ok thank you, yeah I was wondering as I would like a barn door for bathroom
Was it all one kit? Which?
It was all in one kit at Lowe’s. I’ll try to find a link to it

😊
How hard is this for a single person to do? I have 30year metal louver doors that I hate.
It’s easy if you have decent tools and some basic carpentry skills.
Can you lock it?
No
Sweet! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks!
I thought this video was supposed to show you how to install the hardware?? 😳
No sorry, just a before / after
Now he can't use the wall outlet on the left!
I dont mean to be rude but you are wrong. The door is no where near the outlet
How to lock 😂
Hell no
Bad video
Record a good one and share!
Did you keep same door frame ???
I changed it. You can keep it. But it looks better changed and trimmed out differently
Looks cleaner with the new threshold. Going to do the same to mine.
