Tesla enabled 12.3 on our Model 3 for a month-long trial last night. We had v11 for three months at purchase. The difference is night and day. Tesla nailed it. It is really good. The future is bright!

I think Craig Irwin's opinion will miraculously change when the Toyota or other legacy automaker goes bankrupt and can't pay him anymore to say ridiculous things.
I've "Felt The Heat" in Tesla Kitchen, since I bought my first 4 Shares, at $290! Then saw it drop to $181 😳; then jump up to $917! Then drop to $460! Then shoot to $2,200 and do a 5:1 Split! Those "4" became 20!
Since, it has been like a Basketball at a Harlem Globetrotters Game, and done another 3:1 Split!
First shares (4) became 20, then 60! (I've bought more, in ither Account Areas (Canadian Side, In Retirement Account), then in TFSA, and in my Cash Account, but I keep the First ones separate, for a "Barometer!"

It's quite clear that most analysts are not very good at doing their job and it's sad that fund managers take their advice. Now days there are better retail investors that do a better job covering Tesla.

200 per month or 12k at purchase will continue to be too expensive for the majority of owners. I have fsd from 2019 at 6k. I will not pay more than that. I don’t care if it becomes perfect. It’s just too much on top of a car loan. I could use that money for many other needs or invest it.

I am a Tesla fan. As far as energy storage Tesla has 2 factories that make only Tesla Megapack batteries and nothing else. It can power thousands of homes for hours. They cost $1.2 million each. Most people don't know about it but it is already sold out. There is an article about this. Also Apple Inc. already bought 85 of these Megapack batteries. There are plenty of articles about this.

Tesla should take FSD charged on a per mile basis. Compare it to telephone usage. I am old and don't drive much but would like to use but $10,000 or $200. per month is a big hit on my finances. Think how cellphones were per minute and then graduated to monthly packages with unused time carried forward.
I am retired and don't drive much either. I wouldn't pay a dime for FSD for in-town driving, unless I go blind some day, but I might consider paying for one month if I were taking a trip.
Ask Irwin how we can buy a Toyota Solar Roof + Powerwalls. I just put in an order for a Tesla Solar Roof and 3 Powerwalls.

Investor hand holding: It costs a little time but if you don't do it the main stream press turns on you and basically tells people to stay away - this in turn affects product demand, not in big numbers but 10% is not out of the question. One of the biggest upwards changes in Microsoft's PE ratio was when Bill Gates decided to do detailed revenue guidance for investors. Its dumb - but certain investors are just one quarter jockeys before switching horses.
I get worried when Dan Ives is wearing anything that approaches normal attire. The value of $tsla is inversely proportional to how close his attire resembles normalcy.
I agree with Dan. Part of a CEO’s job is to provide guidance and vision for the company during quarterly calls. He references Jenson Wong as an example.

Yea. Free V12 trial. Always wanted a V12 ICE car just for the power. Now I have a faster M3 with V12 FSD even better.
Unless you expect your valuation model to be accurate to the dollar, that take is a bit silly. All valuations are directional estimates, no harm in rounding.
I use FSD daily for a 100 mile round trip commute, if it didn't get any better than it is today it's worth it to me. Of course we know it will get better, we see the improvements on an almost daily basis.

I don’t think general people would spend over 10k for FSD but robo taxi would be super profitable.
With every sequential price cut Tesla has seen its market share grow and still remains highly profitable. A 3% fall in sales in China next to 30% falls by the legacy companies tells its own story.
Global sales for Tesla Q1 2024 will still be up on Q1 sales 2023. I’d look at Toyota global sales which are down 7% - we therefore see the reality that the biggest car company in the world is losing hundreds of thousands sales quarter after quarter and being taken by Chinese EV companies and Tesla.
Tesla’s energy business will double in size again this year and with ground recently broken in China for a new Megapack factory, probably double again in 2025. At that point it will have grown 8x in 3 years and generate at least $5bn in profit at a 20% margin.
The only Tesla business I’m not crazy about is the domestic solar roof business. So hard to scale.
All in all things still look excellent.

It could be possible but only in limited terminal to terminal applications.
Over the road you'll always need a fat trucker to come out to kick the tires, check if the seal is intact, put chains on, etc.
Deliveries are rarely straight thru so someone will need to schedule where to shut down for the 10 hr break and live unload in the morning .
It will be an uphill battle just for the legislation to support that no human is present in the cab.

I don’t believe a robotaxi is going to make anyone that much money long term. When the supply of ride share suddenly explodes the price will be forced downward.
How much money does your car need to earn per day to justify a higher than 12k price???
What happens when you are competing with hundreds or thousands of other teslas and you start only making $20-30 per day? And you have to deal with slobs in your car?
I’ve never seen anyone talk about the actual business model for a robotaxi capable car.
There has to be a separation in fsd pricing between those that will join the robo fleet vs those of us with zero interest to let slobs in our cars.
ARK and some others think that the cost per mile could be around $.50. If the owner gets 50% of the fare, and does maybe 50k miles per year, that would be $12500. Of course then you might have to buy a new car every five years. It's probably going to make more sense for Tesla to operate a fleet, than for individual owners to loan out their cars.

Stephen - people that have long term cash to invest in Tesla with the 10 year vision like you and many others here. In fact, most investors using their income and hedged debt hoping Tesla stock goes up over the year once bills come due. If u look at most Tesla consumer stock purchaser peeps- they are regular every day people living check to check and tough timing hedging bets for 10 years. That said - these investors must see growth to live - none care about fund managers. They just want to be in market and survive and read buy stocks to be rich

You and the RBC guy should have pointed out the car Hardware is for inference compute is minuscule at 100W than the AI FSD training set created off car by NVidia and Dojo chips. Two separate parts of running AI FSD on a Tesla.

I have a very bearish outlook on the nature of humans. When my FSD Model 3 is able to go out and robotaxi to make me money, mine will stay in my garage because I don't want some losers puke on the seat or used condoms or used baggie of white powder left behind. Same reason I don't invest in rental properties...people suck.

Expecting your pride and joy to come home pristine every day after adding a nice bump to your bank balance is naivety. It involves work and perseverance which is called business. Same applies with property rentals or any other business. The entire global economy works that way and it all involves customers that very often suck but that’s the job.
You can probably restrict in different ways. Friends and family only or maybe 50+ year old women during office hours in the business district. I think tons of people have similar concerns.
