    Legit tried FSD tonight for the first time tonight. On the way home from the grocery store, pop up notified to press down on the stalk, the kid said to do it - I asked if he was sure "of course!". Blown away. Took us home, stopped at red lights, took a right on red after waiting, accelerated without hesitation, took me to my driveway. It was like a theme park ride.

    My 65 year old mother literally uses FSD every day in her Model Y and it drives her all around town with minimal interventions. She's getting very comfortable with it learning its limitations and strengths. It is actually quite amazing. Her elderly friends are scared of FSD but she has totally embraced it. She always talks about how smart it is and how assertive it can be when merging in traffic. FSD is going to be so useful for elderly drivers and will make the roads safer.

In 2006 Hyundai Sonata had more rear seat room then Rolls, Lincoln, and etc cars. I have one. People getting in the back for the first time always comment how big it is. At 18 yrs old, it still isn't any smaller. CR has always been biased. As a former 30 yr subscriber you can take my word for it.

Tesla announced they spent $1B in Q1 2024 and plan to spend $10B in AI compute this year. Every Tesla has a $1000 AI Inference computer in it, with 6 million cars that’s $6B. Yes but the original claim, and chart was comparing with Autopilot, and the video was comparing with FSD. I assume that the M-B was not using Drive Pilot, but only their more basic Drive Assist. I think the video should have been done with Autopilot, and explained the relative cost difference. M-B Drive Assist is a $1,950 option, no yearly charge.
      M-B Drive Pilot costs $2,500/yr. Autopilot is included in basic price. FSD was 199/mth or $2,200/yr. Now half that. Given FSD is less cost than Drive Pilot, Drive Pilot should be compared with FSD.

    Seems to me that the only item that is significantly holding back Tesla's future perception is a court case started by a low-life opportunistic who bought 9 shares. A Delaware judge rubbishing a contract voted for by over 75% of sharholders in 2018. The lawyers who argued the case, looking to gain almost 6 billion worth of shares in the name of looking after shareholder interests. This action provoked a vote to reinstate the original contract. Now, we have to wait for the slow and ponderise process of justice for a result that should never have been an issue.

    Just got my free FSD trial on my Model Y. First time tried it yesterday, from the middle of a busy mall parking lot to home. Amazing. Through busy town traffic, different types of intersections, and rounding one intersection corner a jaywalker jumped out into traffic and the car saw her before I did! Home safe to my driveway with no interventions. Go Elon and Tesla!!!

    Tesla FSD destroyed any remaining credibility Consumer Reports had. OEMs that got a higher score will be licensing the software from Tesla, the automaker that was rated near the bottom.

  • @BradAkersphotography
    @BradAkersphotography 25 дней назад

    The dumbest part of the CR report is the keeping driver engaged. The jump from L2 to L3 is not just liability. It is the fact that the driver does not have to supervise and only required to intervene within 10 seconds so that makes absolutely no sense.

  • @777Outrigger
    @777Outrigger 26 дней назад

    In defense of Consumer Reports, they gave the lowest cost for maintenance and repairs for a 5 and 10 yr period to Tesla, at about $500 for 5 yrs and $4000 for 10 yrs. And that's not counting fueling cost savings. ..... Man, but what a fail on FSD. They need to improve their testing, LOL.

    Years ago, Uber had their own autonomy program run by Levandowski. Exact same technology as Waymo, Cruise, Zoox, Aurora et al. Similar to pre-FSD 11 in structure. End to end is only Tesla - end of discussion. If one looks at some of the old interviews, it was mentioned that without the learnings of the prior versions, the end to end in 12 would not have happened. A bit like Everest climbing. Can't make the ascent if you don't first go to base camp and get acclimatized.

    The problem with any company purchasing Tesla BEV’s is the depreciation hit they will take as new Tesla prices drop (in the master plan). This is what happened to Hertz, who’s business model is even more sensitive to depreciation losses than Uber’s. With lowering of COG’s over the next decade for Tesla I don’t see a point where buying Tesla’s for a RoboTaxi fleet, makes business sense for a company other than Tesla, even with the lower cost Gen 3 unboxed model.
