Dude thanks for these tutorials! You’re the reason I ended up going with an M1 for streaming.
That’s awesome!!! If you have any questions feel free to ask here or in stream! Stoked for you.
This definitely helps anyone streaming. Since you steel series is Bluetooth like mine, do you turn yours on or just plug it in? I’m not sure how that works with mine. Mine can have Bluetooth and game audio on at the same time. Biggest issue is you won’t hear your Stream-labs/OBS stuff as well Interesting workaround, glad it worked for you. I’ll have to add you on discord so we can chat it up sometime.
My setup is similar but with Xbox Series X and discord via the Mac Book while streaming (capturing via an ATEM mini but that is not relevant). Maybe your headphones work different but with my SteelSeries Arctis 5 I use the USB jack in the headphones into the Xbox via the controller (I have the chat adapter added to the controller just so I can mute in game chat easy). Meanwhile I have the 3.5mm audio jack on the Arctis 5 going straight into the Mac audio. So two cables in one set of headphones. I can hear and chat to discord, facebook or whatever via the mac while at the same time hear and chat to the xbox. My stream mic is the Elgato Wave 3 so if I want to mute the discord chat so they cannot hear me I just mute the Elgato mic (if I am not streaming) or toggle the mute in discord via the stream deck. No latency. I can use the headphone mic to go the two directions as well but the stream mic obviously is a better solution. It was a happy accident I just tried before I went down any other more complex solutions.
That sounds awesome! It may be different because when I even tried just a chat link cable or anything that added adapters or extra cables, my audio quality diminished by a lot in my headset. I mean max volume being 20-30% what it’s capable of. Once I switched to this I never put my headphones up over 60-70% because of how much louder and clearer it got. I also am using a cheaper headset amongst other Steelseries. Nice work though!
Just one question. Im assuming you use an aux cable of some sort to connect the sound from the controller to the capture card right? Or is it just through HDMI? Cause Im pretty sure the controller needs to be connected to the capture card anyways, just want to make sure. Great video though, been trying to find a great solution like this so thanks!
Thanks for the kind words! Actually my controller was never plugged into anything or had anything running through it at all unless I was charging it.
Will this work on rust console for an Xbox series x and a ps4, trying to talk to my buddy without using prox chat :/
If you follow it the same it should!
How do you hear game chat? and can they hear you when you talk ? Example when you play with randoms in warzone
Yep! Both no problem, I have other videos explaining everything. Part 1 of this video and my most recent should help.
hey bro I just figured all of these things out yesterday but I’m still not getting my GAME audio from my xbox…. I have no idea what to do. I can hear alerts, spotify, discord, everything. I just can’t get my game audio through
- El Gato HD60 S+
- Chatlink Pro
- Xbox One
- Mac M1
I use the 3.0 usb slot, also set the audio shit in OBS to the 48Khz as recommended via elgato website
Everything has been fine except if i want to hear game audio I have to plug into my controller. This is THE last thing I need to figure out, then my stream will have zero issues for years to come
Yeah this one was tough, I THINK you have to set a source for game audio as monitor only and have your headphones in the computer? So essentially I had 2 identical audio sources for game, one was output only to stream, one was monitor only just for me to actually hear the game itself. Play around with that and let me know how it goes, we'll get you there!
Thanks bro I’m taking a break from it all for tonight since I have a stream in an hour (@slavomoney on twitch! 7pm CST😜🤣)
(I do have a workaround for now, which is plugging my chatlink into my controller. that will suffice for tonights stream as fridays are horror games so spotify isn’t necessary)
I’ll be sure to check back with you once I continue troubleshooting as your build is on par with what I use/have. Cheers brother have a great night
So do I need to connect an optical cord from my headset to my Xbox to be able to hear and talk to my mates in quarrel?
I’m not sure how quarrel works sorry!
When u search for discord on Xbox it brings up quarrel
so you have to be a streamer or have all that other side stuff to do this?
Definitely some peripherals yep! No streaming needed, but a capture card and computer with a headset yes.
Do you know if this would be any different using a switch??
Hmm, great question. If everything was identical and the only difference was the switch was plugged into a tv or monitor instead of the PS4, I’m sure it would?
Hi, I from Brazil!
Hello!
Do you know how to switch audio from discord to xbox party chat?
You can’t necessarily switch between the 2, they both exist separately. The only quick way you could is to unplug from the computer and plug back into the controller. This method basically overrides party chat. My latest video shows I actually have 2 mic’s now, and that works to use both if needed, but you’d need an extra USB mic into the ps4, ideally something with a volume knob or on and off button.
@@JimMadden Thanks man :)
@@judebobadilla3334 no problem! It’s definitely a work around and not perfect, but it helps!
Is there a way to do it with a tv
I don’t think so no! Not with a one headphone setup. You could put earphones into your phone and use discord, maybe even just one ear, then your gaming headset over top for the tv audio though!
@@JimMadden @olliesstuff I recently picked up theSteelseries Arctis 9X and I use it on Discord while gaming on Xbox. Discord I use for chatting and the headset picks up the game sound from the Xbox. How this is done is that the headset is linked to the Xbox wirelessly and linked to my PC via bluetooth simultaneously. However, when in a party chat, I need to quit Discord and then the headset switches over to the Xbox and party chat automatically.
There is still a few things I want to test out, but I'm really happy with it.
@@SpitfireSpud oh ok
How do I do party chat on the xbox while doing this
and can we get you showing us how to do this. I am new to streamlabs and obs and can not figure out what i am trying to do.
You can’t do both unless you have 2 mics, this overrides your party chat and uses discord instead
pc can talk to game chat and discord chat thooo?
Nope! I have 2 mic’s now, one for discord and stream, one for in game chat.
Do I need a pc
Like a computer in general? Yes, not specifically a PC though.
Cam lens?
Sigma Art 35mm 1.4!
so you need a pc
The best solution is switch to pc
The video is about using a console, not a gaming computer.
So no actual tutorial on how to do it? Just you talking
Hahaha, I mean if you skim through it on mute and don’t watch Part 1 then sure.
You talk too much
Sick! Feel free to never watch the video again, or on mute.
