    Thanks for making this update video!
    Impressive how much the base M1 Mac Mini is capable of in it’s current state. I want to have a Mac as a dedicated capture machine for my Xbox and eventually a gaming PC much later. Eager to buy but think I should just continue waiting for the new M1 MacBook Pro’s that are supposed to come out in the second half of this year

    • @JimMadden

      No problem! I’m very happy with this, and even since this video OBS had a huge update with a GitHub version and my CPU usage went from 50-60% at the high end while streaming down to 11-12% using the apple hardware encoder. Things are going well with M1! For intel based macs I wouldn’t suggest laptops for streaming or anything, but since the M1’s are so quiet they’ll be far better than before. Have fun!

    Awesome video mate! Helped me get my first setup working perfectly, I have everything the same as yourself. I'm having issues with the Elgato chatlink cable though. Plugged into the PS5 controller, I can hear audio through the headset connected however no sound is going through the Elgato HD60+s . I can only route the audio through HDMI - any ideas? I'm checking the analog audio option but still not picking anything up

    • @JimMadden
      @JimMadden  2 года назад

      Hey thanks for the kind words! I had issues with my chat link cable before and that’s mainly why I went with the discord/double mic option, but I did have it working at some point. My main issue was it severely lowered my audio quality in my headset. I wonder if maybe it’s a ps5 specific thing? Or maybe OBS can’t find it as a different source? If you’ve watched the elgato instructional video on using the cable, that’s exactly how I had mine, so outside of that I would maybe think it’s either something very specific as far as telling the audio to go somewhere, or it’s the ps5 controller.

    • @JimMadden
      @JimMadden  2 года назад

      Hmmm, that sounds to me like it may be the older capture card? I know I had issues with the HD60S and was forced to get the plus version to make everything work. Also, if your headphones are into the interface, make sure the captured game audio source is routed through that so it uses it as it’s audio out so your headphones can pick it up.

Now what I do is use discord on the Mac for chat, plug into the computer and monitor the game audio straight from OBS. It’s much better for me personally, but since you already got the chat cable it’s probably worth trying. Elgato has a video on how to set it up, and from what I remember that’s all I did and had no issues.
