    The airplane sound design was hilarious!! You've sold me on Ecamm and the M1, but let's see what Apple drops this summer first! Changing camera angles with simple buttons?!?!?!! All the controls seem so simple and easy to manage! That LUT feature is a game changer! I need to get on this ASAP!!!! Thanks for sharing this. Everything makes so much sense and it was very very easy to follow. I see what you did with the ending there. Glad I could help with this!! 🙏

    Great video as always Rafael! In case I do any live stream in the far future I’ll look into ecamm. You and Tom shared a lot of good experience using it.
    Btw using your iPad with a teleprompter to look into the camera but also make „eye contact“ with your interview partner is simply an awesome hack 👍!!

      Definitely play around with all the options and see which one feels best for you! Thanks Phil, as always, for the thoughtful comments!

    M1 Mac Minis are a godsend for live streaming. The USB 3 port is very close to the ports and may require a dock or dongle to work. A comparably powered PC is 3x the price and much larger and louder.

    Yes, one of the best features of the 16GG M1 is how quiet it is. Your livestreams are so fun too. Great summary of your set. Helpful as always!

    If I ever get in to live streaming on my channel I’ll definitely try Ecamm 😊 Great walkthrough 😊

    • @RafaelLudwig

      Definitely try them all, see which one makes the process fun and frictionless and repeatable. Only then will you want to do it more often! Next live stream is 3pm EST on Thursday on the livestreaming channel! I hope that time works for you.

    Great video as always, man👏. I’m gonna have to watch it again and take notes 📝 I’ve never done a life streaming..... and I remember Dee Nimmin telling me once that I should, but I don’t think I have the equipment yet. Thanks for the tips 🙏👊👏

    Great video, you should get some kickback from Ecamm Live. You selling it well, I installed a trial to test.
    I'm surprised that canon USB works fine in the App, I have difficulties with it, and CamLink 4K USB dongle on M1 MBP
    Definitely will consider using Ecamm Live for streaming if will get back into that.

    • @RafaelLudwig
      @RafaelLudwig  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, I did lot's of testing before going live for the first time - Tried all the apps out there, kept going back to Ecamm for the features and what was a frictionless and repeatable experience for me. Thanks for watching and the comment Aivars!

    I agree to most of the points, there are just 2 drawbacks with the mac mini and using Mac ecosystem for live stream.
    1. you can't have more than 2 external monitors (via HDMI) out from the Mac Mini, if you actually do live streaming for client or hybrid event, you want to have at least 3 external monitors.
    2. Somehow the screensharing feature is not that smooth as compared to OBS in windows, there is something about mac that cannot capture the screen in an efficient way.

  • @OCTAVIAakaQueenO

    Thanks for the information. I looked in the description for the 4K monitor your suggest to work with the M1 Mac mini? Also what audio device or mixer are you using when live-streaming with Ecamm and the M1?

    • @RafaelLudwig
      @RafaelLudwig  3 года назад

      Thanks for pointing that out, I forgot to put the 4K monitor in the description. This is the one I got for myself LG 32UL500-W 32 Inch UHD (3840 x 2160) geni.us/dnpQC It's not perfect, and there are cheaper ones and there are better ones. That was the price point I wanted to spend.
      I am not using any audio device or mixer, I have the Shure Mv7 directly plugged into the computer and use the Shure Motiv Software to do a basic EQ.
      Thanks for watching and the questions!

    I’m stuck and wonder if this might be the solution. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro. Won’t upgrade to Ventura because too old. I’m using stream yard but I have to jump through a lot of hoops and I also have to use 3rd party software for it to recognize my iPhone. Is it better just to move everything wholesale to ecamm ?

  • @LongVideosToKeepComputerAwake

    I am using M1 Pro Mac but having issues when live-streaming on OBS. For some reason it cuts the stream exactly at 11 hours and 54 minutes. Used an old intel Mac and the same thing happened. Could it be RUclips cutting off the connection with OBS?

  • @HomesickMac
    @HomesickMac 3 года назад +1

    Oh man, yeah.. simple streaming setup. My scenario is a bit more complicated because I need to connect 3 cameras (and run these at the same time), an iPad, there's Audio Hijack and Loopback involved, VSTs that are used to tinker with the sound, so yes, the 16GB RAM is a necessity. I thought of getting the M1 Mac Mini for only streaming but more and more reviewers state that it's also great for video editing in FCPX. So my intention is to wait until the next models come out and then get one. Regarding the SSD internal space needs, I'm still calculating the difference in price when getting a 1TB from Apple or using a fast (2000 mb/s) external SSD to edit off of in FCPX. I'll then need a Thunderbolt dock which also adds to the cost. Not nagging, just being realistic.

    • @RafaelLudwig
      @RafaelLudwig  3 года назад +1

      I can see how it does get a bit complicated once you start adding more than 2 cameras! I use loopback as well great little app! Thanks for watching and the comment Mac!

    • @HomesickMac

      @@RafaelLudwig I've just tested the setup where I run one camera into the CamLink and then with a converter into USB-C on the MacBook Pro, then the other 2 cameras are ran through the Atem Mini Pro - then with one USB-C to the Mac. I thought that would ease the burden on the processor and Ecamm but didn't notice a significant difference in quality when recording locally or streaming to RUclips. Will need to tinker with 30 or 60fps in Ecamm and also on the Atem because everything can make it happen (or not).

  • @honestview
    @honestview 3 года назад

    2:06 the CamLink overheats and cuts out... while the Atamos is a cheap $10 capture card in an expensive body that only has MJPEG encoding.

      @@RafaelLudwig my budget is tight .Will 8 gb work the same for livestreaming youtube reaction videos?I m planning to open a youtube reaction channel this year will mac mini 8 gb be enough?Also does Ecam put stress on the system?

    • @RafaelLudwig
      @RafaelLudwig  Год назад

      @@sakuraistrash2much Definitely the M2 Macs are better than the M1's. and most of the software is now native on the silicon Macs. Especially Ecamm. For Live-streaming and reaction videos it *should work great. As long as you aren't trying to do something else at the same time. That's when the system may get hung up.
      8 gas will work, but if you can swing the bump up to 16gb or at least a bigger SSD. A near full SSD will slow down your system no matter how much ram you have. It'll also keep the computer feeling snappy for years.
      Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    E-cam looks great… $400 yearly, not so much.

    • @RafaelLudwig
      @RafaelLudwig  2 года назад

      It's a joy to use compared to the other options for me. And $400 is only for the pro version, if you need interviews and LUTs. Also, right now there is a huge Cyber Monday sale going on 40% off for the life of the subscription about $240 for the pro version. with the code -> CYBER21 www.ecamm.com/mac/ecammlive/?fp_ref=rafaelludwig
