We've always dreamed of going wine tasting in Napa Valley - but knew it was going to be a splurge. If you've ever wondered how much it actually costs, we're here to help! While most of our travels have been pretty budget conscious.... We were prepared that this part of the trip would be more and justified it as being part of our honeymoon. One way we did save a bit was by booking an AirBnB with a kitchen and making the most of our meals. If you plan on eating out I'd factor in some extra dough. During this summer with California's regulations be sure to call in advance to make reservations for everything. Even places that don't typically need reservations are requiring them this year. One thing that could also provide value is that many of the wineries offer a free tasting with a minimum purchase. If you're planning on buying wine anyway - this may be a good value for you. We had a wonderful time and Napa will forever be in our hearts.

Anyone else visited Napa Valley this summer? What was your experience like?
We are headed there in a couple of weeks. While making reservations, we were a bit shocked at the tasting prices, but got some deals thru Groupon. Although a couple wineries that were a must for us, and no Groupon deals, we bit the bullet and will pay the high fees. Luckily, we are close to Temecula, CA and members at a couple of wineries there.

Wow! You saved our Napa trip with the Laird winery! They had a spot for tomorrow and they accept picnics!!

Heads Up! St. Clair Brown winery and brewery is NOT in the middle of grape plants and hills like you would expect. Their tasting place is close to First street downtown Napa. They made a very nice patio with lemon trees on part of a parking lot. The waitress is very nice and you get to try 4 different wines and also if you buy the beer flight you have 3 options to try. Now I paid the same amount that I paid in Domain Chandon winery which is one of the most gorgeous wineries we had the chance to visit with food pairing included.
This is a very good point - while it is beautifully done, it's not the same as some of the larger wineries. Thanks so much for watching!
