To celebrate my book #Facepaintbook www.lisaeldridge.com/facepaint/ I’m making tutorials based on the looks of some of my favourite makeup muses that appear throughout the book.. First up, the fashion and beauty icon Marie Antoinette. This film shows how to interpret her signature look - perfect for a costume party. I hope you like it. X
The makeup look that I’m wearing in the introduction is this... on my eyes is Lancôme’s Hypnôse Doll Eyes Palette in Taupe Au Natural - lisae.me.uk/26978-27052 , Cheeks - Lancome’s Blush Subtil in Figure Espiegle - lisae.me.uk/27130-27052 and on my Lips, Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Heaping Hazelnut - lisae.me.uk/25725-27052
In the film I use MAC’s Pro Studio Fix for the base, for a cheaper alternative Stargazer’s Pressed Powder in White is great.
Thanks to my gorgeous model Bo Jong / bo.jong

I can’t guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients but everyone's skin is different and it's possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.
I only feature products I like, or want to try. The products I use in these videos are either purchased by me or sent to me by make-up companies to use in my professional capacity as a make-up artist for fashion and celebrity photo shoots, red carpet etc. I am also sent products by many of the top magazines to judge for awards.
I do not accept payment and am not sponsored to make any of the films on this channel. Some of the links under the videos and blog posts on my site are affiliated however and as stated before, I only feature products I like, or want to try. - Хобби
I think the model looks even prettier with that pale make up. Makes her skin look flawless and ethereal.
First thought: Whaaaat, people used to watch someone put on their makeup? In public?
Second thought: OH WAIT, that's what I'm doing right now.
LOL
Some things never change, I guess!
I swear to God, I thought its you wearing the makeup in the thumbnail Lisa!
I thought so too!
me too...still looking at the thumbnail
ME EITHER!!
Me either haha ! I thought it was Lisa with blue contacts
OH MY GOD, me too!
I was waiting for her to do her make up! lol
I can really see now how beautiful this makeup look is especially back then. She looks like a porcelain doll.
Your models are always so besutiful! This models skin is unbelievable! 😍
I meant beautiful* I'm too lazy to delete it and rewrite it
+Lewis Massey You should be able to edit your comment, but I agree about the model's skin!
+Lewis Massey you don't have to delete it. You can edit and just change the one word. See the little tiney triangle ? to the right and top of your comment ? It has an edit choice. It only works on your own comment.
The model looks like she's already wearing foundation before it's even applied! Such beautiful skin. The end result makeup is gorgeous!
the model's eyes!
How you have presented it here, I can see why people back then thought this was a beautiful look. There is an art in applying the makeup, it's a wonderful process.
Gosh I love these historically themed tutorials! They're just wonderful!
So gorgeous! This is my favorite Marie Antoinette look I've seen! Way to go! =D
Your skills are truly outstanding! I can totally see you winning an Oscar someday...
Two years later and I still come back to this video whenever I'm feeling my Marie-Antoinette obsession rise again. I love your technique and personality, but I equally love your infusion of historical facts and trivia. Lovely video, honestly.
So beautiful. It's always a nice lesson watching your videos. Thanks again!
+Sona Gasparian Thanks Sona X
Awesome video! I've been reading a bit of your book at night before bed. It's so cool learning about the history of makeup. Thank you for doing all that research.
+Heidi Crowley So happy you are enjoying it! X
I would like to see a modernized Midieval make up.. it was gorgeous even like that...
FINALLY an accurate Marie Antoinette-tutorial! I've always been annoyed by how much eyemakeup most makeup artists put on when they recreate her look. So beautiful! Hope I'll be invited to a costume party soon so I can give this look a try. :)
I loved this so much. Marie Antoinette is one of my favourite historian people! The model looks so elegant and powerful at the same time with this makeup. Love it!
I love this! I find Marie Antoinette very interesting and your model looks amazing all made up like her. Can't wait to read your book. xo Anne
4:51 so cute when she smells the balm
Wow that makeup look is amazing! I love how you always tell us a bit about the history behind each makeup look you do I learn so much form your videos !
This was such a beautiful video. I still can't get over how the model looked with the wig and costume. Absolutely fantastic.
Beautiful! She looks like she stepped right out of the period! I was over the moon to see this video uploaded today. Thank you, Lisa :) ♡
I really love history and makeup so learning more about the history of makeup is amazing to me. It truly pleases me that you share all this information with us.
You did such a wonderful job not only showing how this process would have looked but also in how you offered different bits of history and explanations about how this would have come about. Marie Antoinette is probably my favorite female historical figure. Her glamour, her classiness, the simple way in which she desired to live versus indulging in how she was forced to live in a gilded cage of etiquette, and finally the final tragedy of her thirty-seven years of life. If you're interested in the hair of this period, I suggest Will Bashor's 'Marie Antoinette's Head.' Some of the hairstyles were almost three feet high! Thank you for this video.
although the makeup is not very wearable she looks stunning in it! She definitely needs go like this for some carnival party with a small venice mask in hand. gorgeous!
Jesus Christ, she's a vision of beauty!
French really reached the peak of aesthetic, and i don't think anyone surpassed them since.
Amazing - the best recreation of Marie Antoinette that I've ever seen !! The book is ASTOUNDING - absolutely love it !!! xxx
I'm fully enjoying these historical makeup tutorials! They're lovely and listening to you talking about the history behind the makeup or character is fascinating. Marie Antoinette is my favorite royal! Such a character!
each additional step pulled the look together - not that I ever had any doubt. Marie Antoinette knew what she was doing, as every step was essential. that is the loveliest lip colour ever! this is probably the first and only time I've wanted to buy those mac 'toothbrush' makeup brushes...
I am do glad you did this makeup look! I absolutely adore Marie Antoinette; her fashion choices, her personal life, her reputation, everything! So this was a real treat to watch ❤️
Absolutely beautiful, can't wait to get your book in the post!
