I've found that ruffly flowers, like crepe myrtle, are wonderful for cyanotypes because of that variation in light and shadow across the edges, very evocative of small flying creatures. They also dry and preserve well without needing to be flattened. Always inspiring, thanks Jane.
I have a small press and use lots of books but i definitely want to make a bigger press like yours!! I dont do anything with all these pressed plants so i love all the inspiring ideas. Thank you so much .

Two coincidences and a question - I recently burned many years of accounts and bank statements from my previous business (a cheese shop) #sosatisfying - and also just acquired an old school lab bench for my ‘workroom’ (scraping off generations of chewing gum from underneath #sodisgusting - but also ………… can you actually make a living from the (wonderful) work you are doing?
Hi - chiseling off that chewing gum is something isn’t it! I do earn my living through this work - I run an online creativity membership called The Studio Club and sell craft kits/ supplies as well as my art (sporadically). RUclips pays me a little but certainly not enough to live on. Just x
