Excelemte video. Now I love my camera more. Excellent editing and your calm way of speaking allows you to concentrate on the content you teach. Thank you
Awesome footage of one of my favorite places to dive. I had an internship at (formerly still called Aquarena Springs) in 2003 and haven't had a chance to go back since then. Great to be reminded and see how this place has changed since then. Really nice job representing this beautiful place.
I wasn’t a fan at all of the hdr feature…I know that some really liked it bit as soon as you take it underwater it gets weird….maybe I can make a video about this
Amazing footage! I saw both your underwater tests for the Gopro 12 and DJI Osmo Action 4. In your opinion, which one is better for filming underwater? I had a Gopro 11, and most of my footage came out overly green. Also, have you tried the Insta 360 pro underwater?
Thank you! Honestly I like the hero 12 better as opposed to the DJI…you will need to slightly adjust the white balance with either of those cameras as you would with taking any camera underwater…neither is a bad option though, I have not tried the insta 360 pro yet but I may have to for a future video
I had it in an underwater housing, it is so much more protected that way and it’s not like you are loosing too much quality shooting through the additional glass…I would only worry about that with real cameras that have nice lenses on them
i would love to see something similar with the dji osmo action 4, i have seen that you have videos about the best settings under water for gopro, do you consider to make also one for the action 4? Best regards and keep on going!
Sure thing! I did make an osmo action 4 video…I have the link below: DJI OSMO ACTION 4 UNDERWATER TEST - AVOID THIS CRITICAL FAILURE! ruclips.net/video/zaiUz2tBDrA/видео.html
silly question but i have not used gopro yet, i ordered hero 12 and it's on its way...question is - do i need a waterproof case to use it under water or the unit itself can be taken down underwater without waterproof case?
do you think the HDR mode would allow you to see better when you're looking down into water from a boat or something? kinda like how polarized glasses help you see deeper in the water
You can! You will set up different profiles that each have their own setting and then you can switch between those different profiles while you are underwater
Not the biggest fan of the color filters, as you get deeper they really just make the footage monochromatic. The new GoPros do a pretty good job with underwater WB and if you need better color, it’s probably best to add more light as opposed to the filters
Hey Scott! I recently moved to Texas. I was just wondering if you had any dive site recommendations. My wife and I are tech divers for what it is worth. Thanks!
Beautiful shot, bro. I have a gopro hero 12 but still looking for best app to use for editing. Could you recommend me what application or software you use to edit your footage?
This is in San Marcos Texas, in order to access this spring you will need to take a course called the DAC before being able to dive here as a volunteer diver
That’s a good question, who knows what the 13 will have in store…the 12 in my mind is a highly refined hero 10 that has the processing power that it needs to shoot the high quality footage that it can without the issues that the older ones had like over heating, ect….if they add a bigger sensor to the 13 or if they make it shoot in 8k or something rediculus then it may be buggy….personally i would buy 2 hero 12’s…even though spec wise the 12 isn’t the biggest jump from the hero 10, they still seem to perform the best that I have seen so far with minimal bugs and other issues
Do you still need to purchase a water proof case? I recently used my Hero 12 (first time owner of a GoPro) and used it as in out the box with no additional case and was submerged in water and mud on an obstacle course. I thought it was built to be wetter proof but there was water in the ports the next day. I have insurance but I wonder if I broke it.
nice explanation keep it up . I also have just started the RUclips channel and planning to do the same as with the go pro 12 .I have subscribe to your channel ;-) how much battery back up to got under water ??
Wow, what a blessing to have such clear water!!
We are very lucky to have it!
Really nice footage, thanks for your time and making our choice easier.
You ou are very welcome, thank you!

Just stumbled upon this video before buying the gopro. Shout out to your work mate!!!
Thank you…I hope you enjoy your Gopro!
Most interesting for me would be some HDR samples. Cause HDR would be the only reason to upgrade my older GoPro.

So did you have the go pro in a case or was it just naturally under water with no case?
I had it in an underwater housing, it is so much more protected that way and it’s not like you are loosing too much quality shooting through the additional glass…I would only worry about that with real cameras that have nice lenses on them
Did you use the waterproof housing? Or was it without waterproof housing?
I want to know if it is by default waterproof.
It is by default waterproof but only to 30 feet…you will want the underwater housing
i would love to see something similar with the dji osmo action 4, i have seen that you have videos about the best settings under water for gopro, do you consider to make also one for the action 4? Best regards and keep on going!

I love this video mate, thanks for sharing and congrats!
Good day, sir. The soundtracks in this video are amazing and breathtaking ! Where do you find them?
Thank you! This came from artlist
Looks great! I got the Hero12 today and incidentally, I plan on taking it to San Marcos, ha ha.
Very nice! I hope you enjoy it!!
Hi!
Have you done any changes in post? Thinking about upgrading from my 7. Thanks for amazing video!!
Nick
Hi Nick, I have made very slight adjustments to the white balance but for the post part this is all on camera…and thank you very much!
What kind of light do you use? Of is it All natural light in very clear water
Yeah this is all natural light…it’s in a natural spring with very clear water
Do you need the waterproof xover if your not going that deep in water ?
No you don’t need it, it is still nice to protect your camera with it though
@@scottbauerbelowi was wondering how water doesnt get into the battery area and such, but i guess they got it sealed tight
Wow...time to start saving those pennies to get one now!
Yeah they work great, I haven’t noticed any bugs yet and I think the color looks great with these…
silly question but i have not used gopro yet, i ordered hero 12 and it's on its way...question is - do i need a waterproof case to use it under water or the unit itself can be taken down underwater without waterproof case?
It can go to 20-30 feet without the underwater housing
@@scottbauerbelow thank you! i got it, i have tried it under without underwater housing...
do you think the HDR mode would allow you to see better when you're looking down into water from a boat or something? kinda like how polarized glasses help you see deeper in the water
Awesome!
pretty sure the answer is no, but Is it possible to change the settings while underwater? Or do you have to surface for every single change?
You can! You will set up different profiles that each have their own setting and then you can switch between those different profiles while you are underwater
@@scottbauerbelow wow, that's stellar, thanks!
4:20 which camera does the person use?
That’s what I want to know!
Hi! can I also ask for your setup, do you think a purchase with extra water protection is needed or just the camera works fine
I would recommend to get the housing….even if you aren’t going that deep it will help protect your camera
Hello scott..what do you mean by the housing?
You can do that without any protection for the camera?
Does it need a case to protect waterproof???
I would avoid taking it below 15 or 20 feet with out the underwater housing, I think it is officially rated to 30 feet
Hi am looking at purchasing a go pro for holiday snaps and underwater footage of my kids, is the hero 12 on its own good enough for this
Hi! Sure, I think so!
What are your thoughts on using the coloured filters over the lens?
Not the biggest fan of the color filters, as you get deeper they really just make the footage monochromatic. The new GoPros do a pretty good job with underwater WB and if you need better color, it’s probably best to add more light as opposed to the filters

I buy this camera soon!
Thanks for information Bro 👌

Thank you! I edit my videos in adobe premiere

Have you got a link to the song you used? Awesome footage
I am getting a lot of positive feedback about that music, it’s an artist called tiko tiko and they are on artlist
@@scottbauerbelowtiko tiko makes great stuff there. 👏🏼
Hi whats the name of the song?
I am buying this camera

Cool
can we get hero 12 vs dji osmo 4?
Of course! I’m working on that now : )
where is this place? Can we rent scuba gear there?
This is in San Marcos Texas, in order to access this spring you will need to take a course called the DAC before being able to dive here as a volunteer diver

you only need a case if your going below 33ft underwater, other than that the gopro is perfectly fine with water

Thank you so much! I would say the battery will last slightly longer than an hour depending on your settings
gopro12 or x4 for diving?
GoPro 12 for sure!
@@scottbauerbelow color better?
So which did you like better, the DJI or GoPro?
It’s a toss up to be honest but I think I’m leaning more on the GoPro side!
How deep are you?
10 to 20 feet depending…
good 😊
Where is this?
San marcos river in Texas
Video should have statet depths
