Thank you Robbie as this will help me in many fishing trips next year 👍
Nice selections Robbie. Whether it be with bait or lures we will all enjoy watching you get back into the cod!
Only 3 days to go!
Thanks so much mate, I'm looking forward to casting lures again. If it rains I will be happy with bait, but I'm really looking forward to casting lures again. And more kayak fishing.
@@robbiefishing It's gonna get WET from tomorrow on.
Melb 4cast is for like 25mm!
YOU got lured in! ;o)
The smaller size budgie smuggler has seen me many a big bass around the 50cm mark and os a favourite of mine as well.
before I go cod fishing, I'm now getting the bigger version of the budgie and a couple of other lures you showed here.
The koolabung codwalker in that 70mm size is definitely on the list as well...
Thanks Robbie, yourve reignited the cod bucket list
Thanks so much mate.
Great to watch as always Mate! Thanks for sharing and good luck for the upcoming Cod season !
Thanks so much Robert.
Thanks Robbie I have caught most of my Cod on a no 62 stump jumper
Mate I'm so bloody keen to feel that first boof from a cod, hopefully we're not too flooded out between now and then or i might have a bit of trouble reaching a few of my favourite spots😅
Tight lines and can't wait for the opening day video🎣🤟🏻
Thanks mate, good luck for the new season. There sure has been a lot of rain around the region.
Great selection mate and good run down. Love the koolabung go so well for an inexpensive option. Would be my go to if I ever get to go cod fishing
Thanks mate, they're cheap, reliable and catch fish. Can't go wrong!!
Nice choices! 👌 I have the orange and pink codwalkers as well. Oar-gee plows, 2 size 1 purple stumpjumpers, a couple of lunches, no sumos.... yet haha. I haven't actively targeted cod yet, mainly redfin lol hoping to hit happy valley soon and land one 😁🎣 good luck this season! Go out and land some big ones 💪
Thanks mate, I hope you can get onto a cod soon. I know there's a few stocked impoundments over there that fish very well apparently.
Like the choices. Good stuff my friend.
Thanks so much mate.
Another great video Robbie 🎉🎉
Thanks so much Dane. 👍👍
Great choices Robbie, can’t wait to see some cod fishing vids from you. I love the koolabung cod walker @ as well, great lure. so good luck with the fishing 🎉
Thanks so much mate. 👍👍
Hi Robbie
Always enjoy your Fishing adventures .
We dont have M Cod here in NZ so i
Especially enjoy the vids with surface lures and the sometimes dramatic BOOF!!! as you call it🎣😲
Hi mate thank you so much for your kind words.
Good one mate look forward to the cod season👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much Cam..👍👍
Can’t wait for the next cod video mate! I’m soooo excited for opening! Good selection of lures you have there, I think my favourite is a top water lure or a spinnerbait. Keep it up mate.
Thanks buddy. I hope you can get onto a few cod this season too mate.
Great video mate. Good to see the budgiee in their mate. I hope to send a few into the trees this season 😃
Thanks mate. I hope you can get out, we need a new 664 cod fishing video. LOL 🤣
Looking forward to the first Cod video 👍, I moved up from the SW Vic coast a few years ago and it took me a couple of years to get interested in fresh water fishing and another couple to “crack the code”, thanks Robbie for the info and tutorials - may your first fish for the season bust the $1.00 mark 😁
Thanks so much David, I hope you have a ripper season mate.
Great stuff mate I can’t wait to get into them
Thanks mate. Good luck. 👍
Spent a good few hours yesterday sorting through mine. Good luck for Friday mate.
Thanks Butch, good luck to you too if you're heading out.
@@robbiefishing unfortunately work has got in the way of actual opening day but I’m heading to Bundalong on Tuesday for 4 days.
Swing by if your in the area.
Good job mate love the content
Thanks so much mate.
Hiya rob
Nice to see the assortment of lures , some are very similar to the lures we use for pike and zander... mate good luck on the cod opening.
Thank you
Take it easy mate and hello to the gang...
😎🏴🎣
Thanks so much Mike. I've watched quite a few pile fishing videos, and can say that you are spot on. A lot of pile lures would be perfect for.our Murray cod.
All the best to tou you all. 🇬🇧 🇦🇺
Back in the 90's, I had an old Hilux with a sticker on the front windscreen. Sticker said Stumpjumper 😂
Haha awesome.
I taking both bait,&lures we got 34 mls last weekend down around maryborough vic and getting anther 30mls for next two days down this way . Going to try the bardy grubs this opening only fine 5 lot of work getting them .worms and yabbies pluses lures to drag behind the boat . Good luck robbie hope u catch a meter cod 👍
Thanks mate. I hope you have a great opening too. There's certainly enough rain around the throw a spanner in the works.
I wish you the best cod season yet. Go get 'em.
Thanks so much mate.
Good day Robbie, some great looking lures there, thanks for the tips. Here's one for you, try some Bushman Insect Repellent, you can purchase it from Woollies and the like, it comes in a tube, pump pack or spray can, I reckon it's the best if your in the outdoors fishing or hunting etc, it's not sticky and it works well, doesn't smell to bad either, lol. cheers buddy, take care and stay safe. 👍
Thanks so much mate. I have used Bushman in the last and to be honest I prefer the good old Aeroguard.
Nice mate like you I have been spending a lot of time getting ready for cod open you have a pretty good kit there mate I’m sure you will find a cod or two let’s just hope the weather holds out cheers mate and good luck
Thanks so much mate. Good luck to you too. 👍
Ah the video that makes me buy more lures each year😂😂😂😂.
Haha sorry about that. LOL
Go get em Robbie
Haha thanks mate.
hopefully you will have a great cod season this opening buddy. Im hoping to head out as well only if i test negative i wont be going anywhere if im still postive haha
Thanks mate. I hope you're better in time. 👍👍
(Reworded question) I’ve noticed you’ve been using the red coloured hooks lately for the Redfin bait fishing. Any reason for this over the traditional “silver” colour hooks ?
Ahhhh that's what you meant? LOL 😂 Sorry mate, you forgot one word and it was the most important one... Hooks. LOL
The only reason is because they were the only baitholder hooks that I could find that size.
It's getting harder and harder to find regular bait holder hooks. There's all different fancy hooks..wide gap hooks, circle hooks, true turn hooks etc... but all I wanted was bait holder hooks and the only ones I could find were red. LOL
Bring it on mate I caught a cod in my town on Saturday so they should pop off there
Awesome, good luck mate. 👍👍
Love ya work Robbie. Your like most anglers. Take a million lures and only use a handful
Thanks mate..haha yep, that's about how it works. 😂😂
cant wait for cod season gonna be heaps of fun my goal is to catch a legal fish to do a catch clean cook.
Thanks mate, that sounds great. Good luck. 👍👍
Which season are you in Rob? Here in ontario canada we just broke out in heavy snow today. First official day of winter is dec 21st
WOW it never snows where I live, not even close.
It is almost summer here now. First day of summer is 1st December.
will any of the new zerek slickbacks make it into the box this season if they get into stores in time? zerek just released a copy of the wilson slickback and given the hype around the wilsons the new zereks could be worth a look if you can find some
Hi mate, maybe they will at some stage.
I was just down there baits fishing lots of carp jumping but didn’t want the worms and these couches where your stranding now very confutable bait fish 😂
LOL I saw the couches there when I filmed this. Why on earth would someone go to the trouble of carrying two large couches all the way down there?
@@robbiefishing I know I strangle getting my bike down there let alone 2 couches
Don't forget the stump jumpers!
Yankee bass fishermen would have kittens at the size of some of the lures we use for cod, unless they also fish for muskie.
Haha wouldn't they ever. Their bass fishing looks like a lot of fun, but not as much fun as our cod fishing. LOL 😂
@@robbiefishing American bass are totally over-rated compared to the local alternatives. A 'gigantic' bass is 13lbs. Even golden perch get up to 15 KILOGRAMS. Murray Cod make them look like toys. Then up north you run into barramundi that go up to 6 feet long and 40+kg.
Hey Robbie do you run a monofilament leader locally or only in waters where damage can occur to the braid? Cheers mate 👍 🐕 🤠
G'day Mick, I rarely ever use a leader. If I was fishing somewhere rocky or targeting huge cod I would probably tie one on.
King Robbie
I reckon you’ll have a pretty quiet cod opening with those lures Robbie. Nah I’m joking! I’m pretty excited to go out for a fish on Friday. Good luck, I hope you have a good cod opening
Thanks mate, I hope you have a great cod opening too. 👍👍
It would help.
Hey Robbie what the best for Murray cod, it’s my bday in 8 days and it’s my dream to catch a cod, what should I use?
Hi Minny, I find cheese is the best bait. It doesn't catch as many big fish, but is a great bait just to get a score on the board. 👍👍
@@robbiefishing ok thank you, what is your favourite lure? I live around south west Queensland
Hay Rob seen one of ya vids about the black bug in a dam usually means no yabbies not true a.
Whent on the case for some yabbies
There were a few of those bugs still got a heap of yabbs around 20+ cm plus there were lots of little ones
Thanks mate that is excellent to hear.
Hey Robbie! Do you use swim baits because I am keen to give them a try this season 🤙🎣
Hi mate, I have caught cod on them, but I don't use them a lot.
Any recommendations for Redfin lures?
Hard to go past the Strike Tiger curl tail grub in Bananashock or whitebait pearl colours mate.
@@robbiefishing thanks mate
What size?
Hey Robbie, my family is friends with David who makes predator lures, his family would visit my families farm in the mallee! His son has a fishing page called Cuzzy bros fishing, he does some pretty amazing fishing
Thanks mate. He sure does, I went to school with Daniel. 👍👍
Hey Robbie. Is there cod in Reedy Creek near Bowser Rs?
Hi mate, there might be a few.
I guess there is one way to find out buddy. Have a great opening.
Omg mate you’ll need 43 rods on Friday haa . Ps the first spinner bait looks like a hills hoist clothes line 😅
Hahaha thanks Camels. I may need to borrow your work vehicle to carry everything. LOL 😂
Wow got enough but I suppose with how often you fish you would also lose a few as well
Wow, no Stumpjumpers or Oargees?!
I have a few stump jumpers, but don't even own any oar-gees.
Where are the frogs 🐸 you normally use?
Oh yeah, I never thought to pack any. I must add some. I've.got quite a few. 2 different types, the Damiki and the Chasebaits. Thanks for the reminder. 👍👍
@@robbiefishing Australian Bass like them as well.
Hey Robbie me and my mate own our own handcrafted lure company we are from Canberra and I’m just wondering if you would have time to fish one and we will send it out to you thanks for any consideration
Hi mate, thanks so much for considering me. Unfortunately I just can not commit to using the lures at the moment though sorry. I have so many lures that I still haven't tried yet.
Okay thanks anyway ❤
ROBBIE, you know you're going to sook if you get one of those trebles in your finger . Remember the Lil trout one
Ha ha. I can laugh I've done the same
Haha thanks mate. I did last year, did you see that? I had to paddle my kayak back up the river against the current, and then put it into my ute and tie it down and then drive myself to the hospital, all with a hook stick in my finger. Haha 😂😂
@robbiefishing yes I saw it. I got a 4.0 hook in my thumb. I was getting worried about you throwing the lures on the ground and forgetting they were there
Ha ha.!
@@alexanderwright9064 haha I am totally capable of doing that. LOL 😂
Enjoy opening Robbie- bring on the boofing
Thanks Mick, I'm looking so forward to it mate. Haha
They do catch plenty of fish. But they catch much more fisherman 😂
Lures DON'T catch fish, they catch fishermen/women! Rex Hunt.
Haha that is very true. It's more about the sound and action, not the fancy paint and pretty eyes. LOL
@@robbiefishing BANG! ;o)
Don't you hate it when your lures play extreme barrel of monkeys 😂
Hahaha yep.
HOLY SHIT THEY WOULD NEVER FIT IN A TACKLE BOX LOL 😂 PAY TO TAKE ALL HOOKS OFF LOL AND PLACE IN A TUB WHEN YA USE RIP OUT A SET OF ASSISTS HOOKS LOL TAKE OFF AFTER USE BE CHEAP AS.
Haha that would save a lot of time untangling lures. LOL 🤣🤣
