Me too I legit can’t watch his videos unless I’m eating too. I could have eaten thanksgiving dinner 5 min ago and I watch one of his videos I’m hungry again…
Listening to you talk about eating dumplings when your stomach is a little off, reminds me of when my husband and I were first together. We were supposed to get together after work but I left work early because I felt seriously sick to my stomach. I called him and left a message for him that I was too ill and to not come over. He came over. He got me started having fried rice and wonton soup when my stomach was upset. Today we live in the country and to this day when my stomach is upset, he'll go to town and bring me the cure!
I’d been having serious stomach issues for the last few months to the point where I was going a week at a clip without eating solid food and literally couldn’t keep water down. My wonderful, patient wife slowly got me eating again. Never got upset if she gave me something to eat and I couldn’t. For me, there are two life lessons here: 1) The ability of good food to heal and restore never ceases to amaze me. 2) I’ll never take my wife for granted. She loved me the most when I was at my worst. Not everyone in this world is lucky enough to find a partner who is their best friend.
@@wickedmikes5281 that is so sweet to hear. I'm happy for the both of you. The right food certainly can heal. Something else that can help stomach ailments is kasha. It is an anti-inflammatory. I keep some on hand and cook and eat it as you would oatmeal. Doctor it up to make it more palatable with sweetners, cinnamon, applesauce, whatever. Tell your wife hello and don't forget to tell her how important she is to you. Blessings.
The plates at Monster Curry look monstrously huge, but trust me, they're actually not as big as they seem! 😅 I used to go there for the set lunch as a student and polished off the entire thing with ice cream for dessert easily.
hey mike, at mingfa, you should try the 'mee sua' instead - that's the really fine noodles. not every place offers that as an option. It's the best because it picks up the sauce best (high surface area to volume ratio), and go for the minced pork noodles (the vinegar makes it delicous).
Hi Mike Welcome to Singapore again, if the half boiled eggs from Ya Kun are overcooked like the ones in your video, you can asked for exchange for free!
Thank you for the great content Mike! Also, that giant plate of Japanese curry is mesmerizing. Love watching you eat. Good thing I just finished eating, but you always make me want to eat more.
Hi Mike, for the Bandung drink , you should stir, if not will be very sweet and for the ya kun egg , you should let ya kun know on the spot thay the egg is over-cooked.. the egg is not supposed to be like that and supposed to be runny. You should also put soya sauce and some pepper too , this will enhance the flavor :)
Welcome to Singapore! Monster Curry was my first date with my husband, and usually I eat sooo much, but as it was the first date, I had to act like i was “dainty” and couldnt finish the food 😂 seeing this video brings me back! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Mike. If you're planning a hop across to Malaysia, might I suggest about 2 hours North there's a west coast city/state of Malacca that's a cultural/historical centre. The food there is a real eclectic mix of the flavours SE Asian mixed in with Portuguese and Dutch influences but rustic, spicy and dialed up a few levels. Find a local foodie guide and you won't go wrong.
That rose syrup drink (or in Singapore we call it Bandung), you actually have to stir it so the milk & the syrup are well mixed..your drink is supposed to look pink 😆
Love the delicious, and eye-mazing curry dish you presented, AFTER that weightlifting bit with the bowl, UP, and down, and UP, and down. WHAT’S UP WITH THAT, Mike?! It’s a GREAT BIG bowl, with a MOUNTAIN of magnificent flavours in it, OF COURSE it’s HEAVY! But the beautiful curry dish isn’t about your muscles. WHO CARES how heavy it is. Just get to the food, and let us experience and RELISH it WITH you! THANK you. 😁👌👍♥️🐞😃🥢
Mikey, u wld notice there are small bottles of thick sweet soy sauce and white pepper on Ya Kun tables. U can put a dash of pepper and two squirts of the soy sauce to mix in those eggs. It's a game changer I tell you!
oh my God Mikie 😳 you are definitely not from this planet. But wherever you're from I wanna be there. You eat food with such pleasure and the descriptions are like a being at a lecture. I love to cook and you love to eat. when I watch you I can taste what you're eating. You bring food to life
All awesome, Mike! I totally agree about the noodles and dumplings when I'm under the weather, and living in Flushing I have all of this local. But growing up Italian in NYC, it was pastina or tortellini in broth as a kid. Same comfort bowl. Everything you explored looked great!
Monster curry portions look intimidating but if you have a good appetite it's easy work! The honey toast desserts are pretty good too, for those who haven't tried it 🙃
@@ledinh.2281 Yeah my family sometimes goes there, usually 1 main, 1 salad and 1 dessert is plenty for 3 people with average sized appetites! Cuz their salad are pretty hefty too. I'm a little disappointed that you didn't eat the cabbage salad and red pickled ginger on the side of the curry rice. That's 1 of my favourite thing to eat at monster curry especially the cabbage salad that actually helps cool off a bit of the heat from the curry.
