    I didn’t know the Karstark’s were half its forces!! What did he think would happen killing him. Soooo many mistakes and he had such a good advantage at first.

      @@Elle-tb8ti i was also surprised to learn this, but you have to remember that Robbs forces were also quite depleted at this point. A large portion were also Roose Boltons men, he was smart and kept his men as far away from the front lines as possible (according to the books at least). He was always going to struggle without the support of stannis or renly, the Karstarks withdrawing their support just made it worse.

      It is a strategic suicide for sure, but one can't help to respecting him for his action. He basically does the 'right thing' as his good father Ned Stark would have taught him - and in the GoT right thing to do isn't necessarily the best thing to do for survival unfortunately .. Jamie Lannister on the other hand tend to do the 'wrong thing' for right reasons. Different sides of the poll all together but both great characters for that reason.
