"Massive cliffhanger"? Is that where the story ends? No follow-up issue?
Yeah it’s a one shot as far as I know.
Wishlist for Doom:
1. Victor marries Valeria like Blackadder season 1, becoming Doctor Groom, Time-Lord Who Endures. They'll banter about the Hapsburgs and erectile dysfunction.
2. Bobby Drake is disillusioned with humanity and becomes Herald of Galactus
3. Galactus tries to consume Earth and fails, retracting into a cocoon of vibranium.
4. This becomes a new planet under a prophecy by Galactus, that he will eat again.
5. Colonies are estabished under and against it's de-facto ruler Iceman, to mine the vibranium.

Finally some respect for Galactus. This is why competent writers are important.
When pathetic writers like Cates creates a storyline in which Thor absorbs Galactus power, it leaves the question…why didn’t Thor do that AGAIN, THIS TIME.
I know he was upgraded with the power cosmic, but still, that shouldn’t have happened…Galactus should’ve absorbed the power right back, but Cates didn’t know anything about Galactus. Galactus HAS lost his shit many times before, this is not a new idea or storyline, but it’s good to be reminded of the potential of Galactus for these new fangled authors.

I miss when Galactus was more...mysterious and full of impending, crushing, hopelessness to defeat him or stand against him
He still is. Just through a different projection, think of it with a philosophical lense- Doom endures may represent per sake of writing imply stoic action/nature to persist beyond a struggle (galactic is the struggle) of oblivion; what matters is the perception of sought subject matter. Yeah galactic being a depressive figure can be cool:I get it-to each their own.

Jonathan Hickman writing Doctor Doom is just godly especially since Doctor Doom became HIM in Hickman's Secret Wars.
And I saw The Maker in the background of Doom's monologue.
Loved the homage to MF Doom, with the opening dialogue and the sneer.

I pondered hard what universe this would be though. I haven't seen any universes that has the xmen looking like their Krakoan ages. But we know it's not 616 so only time will tell lol

Weird Doom and Valeria playing a role Thanos normally occupies. Thanos is nowhere to be found. After all, it was Thanos who defeated the hunger after warning galactus. Thanos is normally the one who spots these things early (Doom asked who could have spotted these events early) then go about stopping it. Thanos did the same with heart of the universe story. He did the same with annihilation wave event.
That Hickman stuff is soo good! I scavenged comics of Fantastic 4, FF, New & Avengers of Time Runs Out leading into Secret Wars. Have em all now and love seeing your panels Rob as I read into it!
