Still one of the greatest PPVs in sports entertainment
Correction, that's sports *edu*tainment. The Ginyu squad considers their show to be educational.
Jiece had an Australian accent in the English Dub way back when, so they decided to keep it.
Cool, thanks!
So in order: Ginyu's name is a pun on gyunyu (milk in japanese); Burter's is a pun on butter; Guldo's is a pun of yogurudo (yogurt in japanese); Jeice's name is a pun of the word cheese in japanese, while in english may also be a pun of juice; Recoome is Kurimu, meaning cream.
Recoomes merch makes me cream...ayyyyyy bye. Also interesting thx
Wonderful. The food puns continue
Never knew that but I'd imagine it's just intended as cheese, not juice, since the other ones are all dairy
@@leetfukkYeah its just a happy coincidence that it also sounds like juice
Ohhhh, that's why Ginyu's attack is called milky cannon
Frieza does actually have a father and a brother. They show up in movies and stuff.
Guldo actually had trouble keeping up with Gohan and Krillin, he can only stop time for as long as he can hold his breath, and Gohan and Krillin were able to get pretty close to him every time he had to breath and resume time, so he was panicked and on the back foot. Then he switched to holding them in place with his telekinesis instead of his powers over time since those weren’t limited to his air supply, but since time wasn’t stopped, Vegeta was able to strike.
That’s how it went in the original anime anyways. Here Guldo doesn’t even use his time powers except to steal the Dragon Ball and throw a steamroller at Krillin, and we don’t see Vegeta take action, but the result is the same.
25:13 "OMG IS IT GOKU?!?"
She started playing with her hair. We're nine months away from another Goten.
Lol Chicago got the hots for goku… despite how dumb he is 😂
@@ghostflame9211 Her name is Laura.... show some respect! Hehe.
@@ghostflame9211he is quite the himbo
Ok to be fair, Goldo can stop time however he must hold his breath to do it. So he can't freez time for too long.
Well that's something at least
Fun fact in the actual show the Gohan/Krillan vs Guldo fight took an entire episode, this was because the show was catching up to the manga and had to slow down a bit.
"Find me in the alps" is one of my favorite references because it was used in the TV version of The Big Lebowski. "This is what you get when you find a stranger in the alps" instead of "When you f*uck someone in the *ss" i use "find me in the alps" to this day at work when im annoyed with the day to day crap there 😂
And I always thought it was "fight me in the Alps" :/
The fact she knew it was a quote from wolverine...respect lol
Even if I hadn't been utterly obsessed with the character in college, I think I still would have known that particular quote.
Also one of the few reactors ive seen recognize the Old Spice reference
Interesting fact: the Ginyu force song was recorded for DBZ Kai, the 20th anniversary, abridged version of the show.
Nail is basically the second strongest character at this point even over the Ginyu Force together
That's how I tend to handle enemies that stop time.
9:15 That's not Little Green. That's Guldo.
Nail is actually stronger than Recoome. He could've done some damage.
HELL YEAH NAMEKEMANIA IS IN YOUR HOUSE BROTHER!!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the VA for Jeeze in the American dub was Australian or spoke with an Australian accent and here they just went over the top with it -can't be sure, I only watched the Latin dub back in the 90s
The original English VA for Jeice was Scott McnNeil from the Ocean dub, who gave Jeice a Brummie accent. When Funimation took over the dub, the new VA changed it to an Australian accent for reasons unknown. When Kai was dubbed, the voice actor changed and Jeice got a New Zealander accent.
@@ArxaneWhat’s Brummie?
@@alexanderren1097 Googled it when I first read the comment: means someone from Birmingham
@@nicolasgiaquinta8948 interesting. Thanks
Oddly enough, that wasn't a piledriver, but he drove him into the ground like a piling.
The whole classic wrestling vibe of that episode is perfect.
They did Recoome in this a LOT better than what they tend to depict him in most media, in most stuff he's just a basic big dumb (but hard to put down) guy. Even though his personality really does scream "wrestler," also it helped that some of the guys behind the show are wrestle fans.
Plus the music they play for Vegeta is the theme for "Dragonball GT" which tends to be the black sheep of the series and kind of known to be a poorly planned and paced out sequel series to the show.
Also cute thing, the party pooper song Guru sings is something the VA's dad would sing to him when he was younger whenever he was being melodramatic. His dad saw the episode and asked "When do I get paid?" lol
That's E1M1 for Recoome's music, btw.
To be fair, most villains can get beaten once you get them monologuing.
True true
The funny thing is, they didn’t change the Ginyu’s that much. Yeah they cut a lot of the fights but like, the rhyme Recoome says is actually from the English dub. The wrestling angle wasn’t played up as much but they really were a super campy team.
28:05 No, he originally had an Australian accent in the dub of the anime, which was years before this.
The time stopping is not that overpowered. They never explained how it exactly works but when he holds his breath then the time is stopped so he can’t perform death moves or anything powerful just get to a position with an advantage
I think Nail could have probably beaten some of the Ginyus.
IIRC, Nail is stronger than Vegeta prior to taking this beating.
@@patbracken He's around the same level as Recoome. He could 1 v 1 them and have a decent shot at winning, but if it was 2 v 1 or 3 v1 he'd probably lose.
They really didn't change the Ginyu force did they
She got the Wolverine joke.... hot. 👏👏👏
The Frieza song is real.
I actually thought his "best in the world at what you do" was a CM Punk joke not gonna lie 😂
I love her ❤
Guldo can stop time for as long as he can hold his breath, so that ability is only somewhat useful, Burter is very quick, and Recoome is basically the group’s tank
So in the original show, Guldo (little green dude) could only stop time for as long as he could hold his breath. He's also not the most physically fit, so he couldn't keep it up for long.
Yeah he can only stop time while holding his breath. Then he's worthless
why is it sooo cute when she says "krillian"☺
I'm jealouse of this girls top.
As a dude my buttons are 3fold and do nothing OR it's a fully button up shirt. A zipper would be way easier.
23:44 Nail was stronger than Vegeta at that point, I wish that confrontation hadn’t been interrupted. Would’ve helped Vegeta too, since he’d only get stronger.
Jeice is depicted as Australian because that's how he sounds in the real show. It wasn't to set-up for the relief efforts for Australia, that was just a coincidence that they could play into.
There are always only 7 dragon balls. Freeza is simply lacking an important detail.
It's Pronounced Krill in not krillian
Thanks
In fairness his name was "Kururn" or something of the like in the original. Since ya know. The letter L isn't normally used in the language for the most part. Im sure it's not completely unused but my memory has that as a thing
I find it amusing because Krilien is the name of an obscure video game character from one of the NES DragonBall games. He's some kind of four-armed alien mercenary whose outfit is vaguely modeled on Krillin's, so they called him Krilien. I think he was designed by Toriyama, even.
@@silentassason Kuririn, "kuri" is chestnut in Japanese, the pun is that he's bald, so he have a "chestnut head".
@Mari_Izu that's what it was. Thank you 😊 I knew part of it, but the exact spelling escaped my brain when I initially wrote that, lol
awoooga
15:05 no you didn't get the joke
In case no one mentioned it already, every show that Vegeta mentions in ep 19 is real. They are all real American adaptations of Tokusatsu, save for Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills.
Tokusatsu is the genre name for shows like Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, Metal Heroes, etc. and their American adaptations (Power Rangers, Masked Rider, Beetleborgs, etc. respectively). Ginyu Force is a parody of tokusatsu.
TTAFBH is an entirely American attempt at tokusatsu and that's why it sucks. Miniscule budget, terrible acting, and none fo PR's charm.
Vegeta..Is the Greatest thing because this is How it Actually went Down in Real DBZ..Kiririn..And GOHAN..Were Annoying..AF😡
The floods weren't that long ago lol 😂
Long enough that I figured that particular fundraiser would be done
This episode is 12 years old dude.
in the original jeice sounded austrailian so teamfour star went with it
