    The same way lumber is stored at lumber yard. This would only come handy in my shop to leave wood rest after planing before using it.

    I'm wodering about those basement windows and whether they could allow access for lumber ( may have widow wells that would prevent that use though or the outside yard access might not allow for that ) into the basement directly to your lumber rack? As to that slab of ash why not a piece of furniture? Marius good work there.

    Hi Marius, tanks for all your really good videos! How did you manage to get all the shelf brackets level? I mean it's pretty hard to drill the holes in concrete that exact. (I went with another solution earlier this year were I attached the stretchers to the wall first and then added the brackets.)

    • @MariusHornberger
      @MariusHornberger  7 лет назад +1

      We first attached two as level as possible, lined up the next one in between and used the hole in the bracket to mark the right position. And I'm also very practised in drilling accurately into concrete.

    • @MadebyMagnus

    Are you getting the raw lumber so much cheaper than some already ripped and planed construction wood? Seems alot of work for the little amount of money it would cost to get it at a DIY store.

    • @MariusHornberger
      @MariusHornberger  7 лет назад +3

      Yes, one of these big boards that I used costs about 7-8€. Similar amount planed costs 20+ Euro. And since I have a jointer and planer I will never buy planed lumber from the store.

    I think that was a really cool system. I say this with all due respect I believe it would have been a better idea to only use the top to holders and run them along the rest of the shop wall. The reason they would be above your head now the wood store just creeping into your floor space and shop space I think that may give you problems in the long run when it comes to building larger projects

    what I really like about Marius, is.. you can kind of compare him to Mathias wandel, only that you can expect far more advanced stuff from Marius in a few years when he finished his mechanical engineering degree, than just a bandsaw scaled up à la apple.
    And the best thing, he seems like a really nice dude to hang out with. All about having fun, where as Mathias is really full of himself and is always passive aggressive when writing comments...
    So thank you for being the one woodworker I not only watch for his woodworking, other than Frank Howarth.
    btw, you should get yourself a metal lathe, around your area there are a lot of cheap high quality ones out of the 70'. And please start using Fusion360 or something of that sort. you'll perhaps need it at Uni aswell and it will make designing things a lot more fun, and you'll get used to it very quickly!

The majority of Marius' content is based on Matthias' work--It's brilliantly executed, but very little is original. Matthias, on the other hand, is incredibly prolific. Not only has he designed, built and produced videos about scores of original creations, he also makes detailed plans and provides excellent customer support if you have questions about the build.
