  • This one is for all the disbelievers out there that are under the wrong impression that it's hard or even impossible to bend with an Evertune bridge. Some say that the same goes for True Temperament fretting.
    If true, this guitar has to be one of the hardest in the world to bend on as it has both an Evertune bridge AND True Temperament fretting. Well, here's a reality check for all you disbelievers out there...
    It's NOT harder to bend with an Evertune bridge, and True Temperament fretting won't affect bending even the slightest. End of story! So, once and for all, consider this myth BUSTED.
    Drop the issue and accept the truth! Instead, embrace the development and buy yourself a new guitar with an Evertune bridge and True Tempermanet fretting. You will enter a new universe when it comes to enjoying your guitarplaying. You have my word on it...

      @@MalmieYngsteen This was my concern as I know you have to tighten the saddle to the end of it's "sweet spot" to allow for bending, My concern is that with it tuned that way, and the saddle not being in the middle of the sweet spot it might loose it's essence of an evertune bridge

    Hmmm. I'm tempted by an ESP LP that has evertune, and I was going off the idea when I found out there were springs holding the tension. I hate soloing on a guitar with a trem because the springs are fighting you when bending, and I bend an awful lot. Anyways if you set this up right does it feel just like a hard tail or is there some in between?
    You seem like an honest guy so be nice to get your view. Nice playing as well!

    • @MalmieYngsteen
      @MalmieYngsteen  4 года назад +2

      Hi. When the evertune hits the end it starts to act like a normal hardtail, the springs then no longer are engaged and are out of the equation. However. As you have to bend a slight bit before the Evertune disengage, the endresult is that you have to bend slightly more than on a normal hardtail. You have to bend that little bit until it stops compensating and from there you have to bend the same amount as on a hardtail. So the netresult is that it will take slightly more force to bend to the same pitch as on a hardtail. This also results in the fact that you have to bend the string more to achieve the same pitcchange. Worth taking into consideration if you like bending massive bends as you would sometimes go over the neck edge before you achieve the same amount of bend as on a hardtail. But that is only a slight problem if you bend extreme bends. In my clip I'm bending half an octave without problem. I bend by pushing, but if I did it by pulling the G-string I might go over the edge.

      It's not that difficult to set up the evertune, and yes, the TT is custom shop. There are readily available necks but not with the traditional strat headstock as it is copyrighted.

    I own a Evertune equipped 7-string guitar (Kiesel Aries7) and since it's the first and only Everytune bridge i've ever played on...I do have one question :) Obviously the guitar is able to bend and I watched a dozen videos on how to set it up properly...but I would say that bending is still harder (more resistance) than other guitars i've owned. I'm not sure if that's due to the evertune, the fact it's a 7-string, or the string gauge being heavier than normal for me. I have a 6-string evertune on the way (PRS) with 10's and I am really curious to see what the difference is and to see if it has the same resistance as the Kiesel 7.

    • @MalmieYngsteen
      @MalmieYngsteen  4 года назад

      The Evertune does not add any extra tension compared to a guitar without an Evertune. However, there is an ever so slight bend needed before the evertune hits the end stop and the pitch of the tone starts to go up. From my experience this creates a need to bend sligtly more than on a non-evertune guitar to achieve the same amount of bending of the note.

    • @nw379

      @@MalmieYngsteen I received my 6-string from Evertune (sent them a PRS SE to customize) and it's beautiful - stays in tune and plays perfectly. Now that I have a good comparison though (PRS SE with evertune and a PRS SE with stock bridge) I would definitely say that there is a small difference in the amount of force I need to exert to bend a string. I totally understand what you were saying about needing to bend slightly more on Evertune (and that can definitely be fine-tuned to be almost be unnoticeable using the tuning pegs) but even with that aside, there is still a bit more tension that i feel on the strings when the Evertune is present. It's not a big deal for me and it's 100% worth it for the guitar to stay in tune :)

    Do you still need True Temperament when you have an EverTune? I heard because of the nature of EverTune, it keeps intonation correct?

    • @MalmieYngsteen
      @MalmieYngsteen  4 года назад +1

      Evertune keeps the intonation perfect in relation to where the frets are but the true temperament also adds a sweetened tuning that puts the frets a couple of cents plus or minus in a calculated way to make the notes harmonize even better. The sweetening can be done in different ways depwnding of the style played. This one is aimed at rock. So yes the true temperament adds another dimension to intonation.

      Hi. I'm glad you like this solo. It's from a new song by my projectband Silwerwoulf, titled How long, that will be released in a while. As of today I don't have tabs, but I might do that eventually. This particular solo is hard to put in writing as it incorporates a lot of heavy bendings and details. Maybe I'll do a videotutorial instead to make it easier to understand how it is supposed to be played.
