About Young Sheldon:
It’s 1989 and 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper has skipped four grades to start high school along with his less-intellectual older brother. As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, his mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.

Crazy how everyone is on board with Sheldon’s idea but you throw the word “communism” out and everyone is suddenly against it
Muricans for you.
It's quite simple communism is idealistic, if it worked it would be perfect so describing it of course you are for it but once you connect the word to the description you know that is has never and will never work.

I suppose if you ad lived in a very small town like Medford, everyone pretty much knows everyone else. George has to live within this community, and that's what horrified him.
When you realize this a legitimate fear people had during the Cold War and that this would have been totally realistic.
@samuelstephen8147 absolutely, propaganda and fear mongering was an all time high .

Probably because if Meemaw got to talk and explain to Sheldon that communism is bad and companies have the right to change their products they couldn't have sold it as "tHeM DaDgUm CoOpErS aRe CoMmUnIsTs!" and couldn't have played to the outrage culture of people looking to be pissed off or easily offended...when a 10 year old boy's opinion means shit in reality anyways! Sheldon is calling for regulated capitalism. It was the reporter who planted the word communism, and he didn't know to push back.
Regulated capitalism is communism 😂
@@zlayer3170 It's not, by definition. Communism entails that the people own the means of production which in essence means money becomes meaningless as everything is a shared product.
THAT'S media nowadays
This!
@@Jacob-sl6ur Either the individual citizens own the means of production (capitalism, private property) or the state own the means of production (communism, public property). @Christopher Bingham In no way was what he suggested communism buddy, he was just asking if companies should be allowed to run freely without regulation
@Christopher Bingham India is biggest democracy but they still have restriction on basic necessity items.

Communism is a combination of regulation and giving production means to workers.
@Christopher Bingham Sheldon never denies he is Socialist but he never does anything to suggest it either
@Christopher Bingham Sheldon never suggests communism, the reporter if you noticed was trying to weave Sheldon into saying it. She knew that it would make everyone pissed and would help her profits a lot it seems she had the idea of “Commie” when she heard the call.
George like "Oh Dear GOD!" I was in the hospital with covid last year and saw this episode. Almost had to call nurse I was laughing soooo hard! BTW I'm from Texas.
The best episode of Season 2. Everyone was bashing the Cooper family; for example, everyone avoided Georgie for a show Sheldon was on that had nothing to do with Georgie.

shut up band kid
Hard to believe there was once a time where you could buy many things for a dollar each.
You still can or cheaper
too bad we have capitalism
Prices used to be reasonable, wages used to be reasonable, monopoly wasn’t a thing.
But then capitalism just ate itself with greed.
I love Meemaws acting
Never speak “Red Talk” in a red state like Texas.
Unless it’s the Texas kind of red because the GOP uses the same damn color. Awkward.
3:43 George: ….Oh, dear God. 💀🤣
Meemaw singing all those songs in her front yard with that flag was the best part about this episode 😂😂😂😂
From Which season and episode is that scene
I mean the USDA and stuff should exist for exactly this reason, there should be some governing body that acts responsibly to prevent companies from just going in and adding cheap unknown ingredients to reduce price. Stuff like high fructose syrup and all that is probably way more harmful to our health but yet there really arent any cheap good options if you want to avoid it. Its legal here so companies will use it in everything.
That news reporter gave Palki Sharma vibes😂😂
So literature and film students, what happens at the last of the scene, is a perfect example for 'Comedy of Menace'
i like how everyone went full red dawn on the coopers after that lmaoo
"How does my hair look?" I can't believe that SHELDON, the kid who very rarely wears anything other than slacks, a flannel shirt, and a bow tie, would ask that kind of question!
That was kind of the point/punchline 😉
😂😂this makes me cry of laughter everytime
I can’t get over how brilliant the writers are for this show! All the actors deserve awards!! ❤
Thats the media for ya. She should be arrested
Sheldon knows his politics too .
Funny how he’s supposed to be extremely smart but it’s never occurred to him that communism has faults and he’s never heard of any of the atrocities.
I mean not really if he answered like that in Texas.
Clearly not...
Well he wanted to say that a communist way at solving economic problems is better, but got missundestood, I mean of course he was, Americans hate anything communist related, it's stupid.

This happened during the “Red Scare” epoch in American history when they were still engaged in a Cold War versus the USSR, and perceived anything communism as a threat to their “freedom”.
This is how news is doing tricks to guide people's opinions to a breaking news story
What episode
Wonder how that episode went
Here is what I wonder.
How was Sheldon able to appear on television without Mary and George knowing about it ahead of time? He was a minor, so he should have needed his parents' permission.
The one possible loophole for this plot hole is the fact that Connie was there. Could she, as a grandparent, have given the greenlight for Sheldon to appear on television?
Meemaw
I think his grandmother being there was probably enough. Sheldon was accompanied by an adult, so that would have been good enough back then.
What episod is this
Sheldon was light years ahead of all Americans.
Older Cubans are moving back to Cuba because the houses are affordable and they don't want to pay the insane medical costs in the US.
that's like a minority of the immigrants coming into Florida. The truth is, majority of those that fled Cuba many years ago are actually conservatives.
That's the most laughable bullshit I've ever heard
lol......sure
Cuba? The hell hole? Ran by a government whose only out was the star power of Castro
Of course if you have dollars and you want to buy anything in an authoritarian communist destroyed country, you can get whatever you want.
Sheldon: UR BYING FOOD bro he is tryna live
«Hang on a sec» famous last words
As smart as Sheldon was, he didn't anticipate the extent of corporate greed of the news media.
Well I'm still thinking... what exactly is wrong with making bread faster and cheaper? If he was worried about the bread getting worse, he should have talked about the lack of quality control...
Nothing wrong with that just that you don't change the original recipe that it defeat the true taste.
Might as well create a new version of bread with different packaging. If the cheaper bread sell well than the 'original',the company can reduced the original bread for 60% rather than changing the original recipe.
Sheldon might be a GENIOUS, but it took him a while to realize the exit and entrance are 2 different doors. 😂😂😂
Genius* but 😂
Except they're not. People are just choosing not to exit where he's waiting for them.
Love the scene after this
As a man who grew up in small town west texas in the 80s i can relate to this episode lol.
Bro's strong in science and weak in humanities 😂😂
3:41 goddammit sheldon and images if howard and penny and Leonard saw sheldon on TV when they were little
Unlikely. Child Penny was in Nebraska, and Little Leonard was in New Jersey, and Howard in California. Since the internet was in its infancy during Young Sheldon, it is almost impossible for a young Penny, Howard, or Leonard to see a local news report out of Texas. 24 hour news access wasn't a thing back then, either. Still, it would be funny to think about them seeing it.
@@metro121482 yeah imagine if made headlines on another new station young boy in texas think communist is what needed in texas
Sheldon does have a point; the American government never asks for its citizens’ opinions, only during elections. They never ask how we feel about things like taxes.
Sheldon : "Excuse me, would you like to sign my petition ?"
Random Pedestrian : "No way you freaking Pinko"
Hes right
Here, Sheldon Cooper saying communism is what Texas needs.
3:45 oh dear god
I wonder what would have Tam thought of this?
And under Communism the bread tastes better because passion rewarded equitably drives quality upwards.
But the good bread is only for the party members. Everyone else gets the low quality bread. This has happened in the soviet union before. Communism means government has all the power and in essence becomes the new ruling class.

I am from France, and even though we are a capitalist society, we have certain elements of communism that we have deemed correct. These elements do not prevent us from living in a capitalist society. However, they prevent us from going to the American capitalist extreme, which, like any extreme, has its flaws. We have found a middle ground between both extreme
No you do not have 'certain elements of communism' in France you have a regulated market. Unless by 'certain elements of communism' you mean you only have state atheism in and you overthrow the capitalists every other Saturday, then no, you guys don't have communist elements.

"Sign my petition dammit!"
It's not a bad idea, maybe communism isn't so bad
Nope
We have a bit of socialism already, and it's absolutely necessary to support our Hospitals and infrastructure. We would be in bad shape without it because people are not responsible enough to set aside money to cover these things.
If Sheldon got the reusable rockets right, why can’t he be right on this? Lol
Well what he was describing was a controlled economy which can be applied to many different systems (Communism, Facism, National Socialism, Corpratism etc) none however is capitalism due to the fundamental fact that capitalism is a product of the free market and is only possible due to a free market.
Because Sheldon is a scientific genius, but when it comes to the human spirit/nature he’s a complete idiot. The economy is emotionally fueled no matter how many people say otherwise.
@@benivinson3693 Pure Capitalism isn't good, neither is Pure Communism/Other. We don't live in a world of hard edges, everything is a combination. Even US Capitalism has added ingredients from Socialism.
