High noon, the moon and stars came out to play
Then my whole wide world went zoom
(High as a rainbow as we went flyin' by)
Faster and faster we were higher than high
For once in my lifetime I was finally free
And you gave that to me
I don't know why I love this song. It's not from my generation, I don't understand the lyrics. But the singing is like silk and it takes me away to a better place. I just can't explain why
Zoom ..yes one of the most underrated songs... listening to it gives me a good feeling!!!!I love this song
Beautiful song!
Zoom and Golden Moments are still played on the radio in some countries in 2023.❤️
That's how good these songs are, timeless music, from a time some of us grew up.
Played every day on smooth radio UK this song really touchs deep in your soul wow what a sensational voice did Freddie Campbell have no one else could sing this like him. It's just beautiful
Today a peruvian online radio played this song.
Mellow magic every night
Ah, the 80's...how i miss those days...😥😥
reminds me of summer 1982 going to the school discos and drinking cans of beer before we got tot the disco ,when Zoom was played we'd pluck the courage up and ask girl to dance, Great days when we were young innocent teens living in a carefree No Hi Tech no Net or cell phones laptops ,we would have our ghetto blasters or a Walkman that was the hi tech and a video player , the 1980's what a decade
im with you on that, amen

Around the time this song was in the charts we had a teacher in school called Larry who was very fat. His nickname was Fat Larry. Thanks to this song we re-nicknamed him Zoom.

This track will live with me forever - pure heaven. Was played on the car cassette in the early 80s - mum dropping me off at college. Lovely memories.
#2 single in the UK, didn't even chart in the US! Got to love this country.
Probably because of Only Fools and Horses
AWESOME SONG
@@andrewhailstorm4081 Graham Dene of Capital Radio London heavily pushed this song. I suspect it ended up on Only Fools after it was aired on Capital
A big hit in Australia as well.
It did 98th spot. Very underrated song, tbh.
There is just nothing more to comment in this section. All wonderful I wanted to say has been written. Super classic !!! 💯❤️💞💖💐👋🌟 Praise the Lord for the Fat Larry's Band. May their souls be singing with our Heavenly Father until Eternity. Amen. 🙏🍀❤️

I like your comment about the Zoom Call long time ago though❤😊
Amazing how it takes you back in time...lying on a beach watching the stars...with someone special...in the moment ...no cares in the world...zooooooom wish we could be back there before social media when we were really in the moment and not looking for a phone but for a shooting star....feels like another lifetime...we are so blessed to have had this time...the kids now won’t know what they are missing...hope they’re still looking for stars in the sky and zoooom like we did....❤️🙏🐬 stay positive and keep smiling when your not wearing a mask that is 😂🤣😂🤣💙 blessings for all those still listening...❤️✨ be love....
Drummer "Fat" Larry James died Dec 1987. Singer Freddie Campbell died Jan 2013. The band folded when "Fat" Larry died. And so do the beautiful musics. Peace brothers...
My memory song 😍
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Nicely said sir. Lovely song that makes those days and memories seem even sweeter and more treasured.

One of the most uplifting songs ever, in love or not ❤️
Hello Sandra, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus?
Hi Sandra,hope you’re okay?
@@Trevorjennings679 what virus?
@@sandramclaren5772 I mean the COVID-19 virus. Hope you’re safe from it??
@@sandramclaren5772 it must be his pick up line ("the virus") - him and David Taylor have a bit of a thread going on here in the comments. So far as I've seen none of the Ladies they've tried it on have fell for it. I mean - One can clearly see Why 😅
Beautiful song. Takes me back.
I absolutely adore this wonderful song
Bring back good memories

I unashamedly love it since I heard it back then...life is short...ENJOY IT while you got it..!!!
Touches my soul and evokes a warm 1980's summers day with relatives and childhood friends you'll never get to see or talk to again.
First time hearing this, and man, I felt my soul again.
I blame myself for clocking 30years without knowing this song till I heard it last week on a local radio (Lord bless the man who requested this classic)
This is top among the most awesome songs I have ever heard! !
From now I'll make sure anyone round my way gets to hear this blissful gem of a melody
Fat Larry's Band what a underrated band! !!
Much love from East Africa UG
Here in September 2020
What a song it deserved more RIP Freddie and Larry you did well
I remember playing this on my record player in my bedroom over and over. My poor dad banging on the ceiling shouting, “Turn it down!” LOL
When you listen to their voices and how strong the melody arrives to you. You feel an incredible force with which you can go for anything
One of the best tunes ever , a real classic , still reduces me to tears after all these years .
***** That's hilarious coming from someone calling themselves George Michael.
+George michael lol
+David Leppard isn't this just feel good music great sound
+Kevin Smith wow nice one lol :)
+David Leppard it's ok-ish but not exactly tear reducing what part reduces you to tears?
This was my late sister favourite song. I remember her playing it all the time when it come out. I always listen to it now in memory of my sister ❤😢
This BRILLIANT ‘Zoom’ ALWAYS takes me back to when I visited my wonderful aunt in Melbourne 1983, when my eldest cousin and I were “singing”😂 to this with the help of the odd glass of Johnnie Walker!!!! The beautiful everlasting memories!❤️
Ah, this beautiful song takes me back to the early 1980s. A simpler time and great childhood memories, before life started to become complicated and a grind. I expect i'm not the only one who feels that way when they hear this. RIP Fat Larry, your song makes me want to be 12 years old all over again. I remember humming this whilst walking to school.
Yea great comment mate and very true for most of us 👍
I was 16 when this was out I'm 53 now and still love it.
Can u ever imagine anything coming anywhere near as good as this on the x factor... No me neither
Nail on the head xx
It would be a shame to sing and arrange some this good only for it to be judged on the X Factor.
Stone cold banger ‼️ ‼️
Love this song 🎶 heard it on the radio in work, so glad to know the band and song 🎧 2024 and it’s still ZOOMING ❤
