I was living in London in 1982 while my dad was producing a movie called KRULL at Pinewood Studios and I would hear this song playing on the radio and it just stuck in my head and I bought the 45 record.
Bless him….. I went to visit my elderly mother last weekend. She is 80 and she played this wonderful song over and over. She said this song brings her wonderful memories. I am 44 and I have been playing this song all day.
I remember this song from my first year in high school (1982). I loved it then and I love it more today. One of those songs you never get tired of hearing! If it comes on the radio when I'm in the car, my hand automatically goes to to the volume button - crank it up and have a bloody good singalong! Don't care who sees me!
My parents did the exact same for my sister and I. Whenever we drove on holidays or visited grandparents every weekend, they played The Beatles and an 80s disc. I’m 20 now and I’m blessed to have this music in my life😍
I heard this song in a restaurant recently and wondered how it got lost in time......it brought back such fond memories from a time when the world was so much simpler....been hooked on it again ever since
I dont care what anyone else says i met my 1st love with this song and still with him after 43 years he is not well but this reminds me of better times ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Was 10 years old when this came out, and could not get enough of it. This song seemed to send me to a magical starry-eyed place when I was young and green. And, damn, I still love the lead vocals, in fact I probably appreciate it even more nowadays.
My favorite when I was 4 years old. Always singing. Last year at my 26th my dad found the CD back after he bought a new stereo and played it on the new stereo. I recognized it immediately ❤🎉 finally, happy to know this song again❤❤❤
I had this song for father and daughter dance at my wedding when I was married to my ex husband, love this song so much everytime I hear it I think of my dad hes my hero love him to bits even though my marriage failed I can never forget this song xx
Don't you mean your Ex Hubby was the failure as I'm sure that is how my ex wife ended our marriage but I have the same memories with mother snd groom dance xx
my mum and dad use to sing this together always remind me of when my dad was alive i play this to remember him I'm pretty sure he is still listening with me 😭😭
I've just said, the longer you don't hear this, the better it sounds when you do hear it. It reminds me of a birthday I had when I was just creeping into my teens and one present was my first ever cassette radio player, my second present was a double tape compilation of some of the Top of the Pops hits. The first track of the second cassette was this track. As I didn't have many cassettes at the time this was played over and over. To this day, I still have that double cassette but not the player!
How about the fact that I never heard this song until I used to hang out in North Philly, where it played nonstop?!? 😂😂😂😂😂 All of the best music that I discovered has been during the times I was living in Philly. Anyway, this is a great song!
Zoom, just one look and then my heart went boom Suddenly and we were on the moon Flyin' high in a neon sky Bang, just one touch, and all the church bells rang Heaven called and all the angels sang Sunrise shine in the midnight sky [Hook] Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Then my whole wide world went zoom [Bridge] High as a rainbow as we went flyin' by Faster and faster we were higher than high For once in my lifetime I was finally free And you gave that to me [Keyboard Solo] [Hook] Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Then my whole wide world went zoom [Verse 2] Moonbeams dancin' in the afternoon Shadows blowin' as the roses bloom Lookin' down on a wonderland Smack just one kiss and I was outta whack All at once there was no turnin' back All so far above the brighter star [Hook] Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play And then, my whole wide world went zoom [Bridge] High as a rainbow as we went flyin' by Faster and faster we were higher than high For once in my lifetime I was finally free And you gave that to me [Keyboard Solo] [Hook] Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play
Doctor jay I couldn’t of said it any better I listen to it at least 3 times a day everyday I know the lyrics better then fat Larry one of my all time favourite
This is one of those songs that is more of a feeling than a memory, i was 7 at the time, , and everytime i hear it, i am transported to a place and time that is stored somewhere in my subconscious, , in fact i only have a few select songs that have that ability to transport me to a place and time that i can't remember, but i definitely feel.
@@robertobravo7714 The other songs that make me feel this way are (99 Red balloons by Nena), and ( I won't let you down by PHD), every time i hear them, i get emotional and start yearning for a time that is long long gone.
I heard this on my favorite radio station last Sunday hadn’t heard this in a long time fun memories listening to this one of my Favorite Old School Jam here
My dad loved this song, we played it at his funeral, it always makes me cry but always reminds me of him 💙
We also played this at my dads funeral. What you put couldn’t be any more true I feel exactly the same when I hear this and I still listen to it ❤
TUNE 👌🎼
may both your Dads rest in peace
I bet this song resonates a whimsical side of him…

Amen..
Your father had excellent taste. There is nothing from today's music that comes even close to this fantastic gem.
80s music forever
Good music you were lucky
My parents did the exact same for my sister and I. Whenever we drove on holidays or visited grandparents every weekend, they played The Beatles and an 80s disc. I’m 20 now and I’m blessed to have this music in my life😍

I have noticed a Steevie Wonder influence in Zoom! Great song I have to admit!!!
The hook is ridiculously catchy
Love this song, nicer times !❤
A personal favourite track of the 80s this is. It takes me back to a time of no worries, just happiness, before I knew what heartbreak was.
It's for after the heartbreak.
It works.
I dont care what anyone else says i met my 1st love with this song and still with him after 43 years he is not well but this reminds me of better times ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is my only happy song. I adore it so much. I'm the ageless Goth but this song is just gorgeous...
Had to play it again....once is never enough..
Cher you are the last Goth Girl going! There are no more Goths (NSW anyway) any more!
Always reminds me of Only Fools. When Del is with Heather's kid. Brilliant tune
Best episode of the show, felt heartbroken at the end
@@powerchicken-nf8vl such an all time classic show mate. Poor Del never got the lick he deserved until Raquel
@@IainTheWizard So true, the proposal in this episode was the saddest thing I’ve seen in the show
The song playing when the love of my life asked me to dance for the first time. Always makes me smile and wonder "What if ?"....
One of the greatest songs ever written and sung pure quality.
This song NEVER gets old!
This banger has kept coming on the radio for some reason no complaints though
Beautiful song. Great heartfelt singing. One for the lovers right ? Damn right !
Heard this on the Ken Bruce show, BBC Radio 2, recently, for the first time. Great perky tune that chases the winter blues away! X

absolutely superb tune . how simple and life fun life was back then
This is a beauty.
From a time and for a time.
It has a song from a later time that you could call it's younger brother as well.
I'm now in my 60s and can remember this huge track I often play this track to cheer me up
Always reminds me Terry Wogan used to play this on his breakfast show, great tune.
Zoom - for video conferencing. This song will be a good advert.

Suddenly and we were on the moon
Flyin' high in a neon sky
Bang, just one touch, and all the church bells rang
Heaven called and all the angels sang
Sunrise shine in the midnight sky
[Hook]
Zoom, you chased the day away
High noon, the moon and stars came out to play
Then my whole wide world went zoom

High as a rainbow as we went flyin' by
Faster and faster we were higher than high
For once in my lifetime I was finally free
And you gave that to me

Moonbeams dancin' in the afternoon
Shadows blowin' as the roses bloom
Lookin' down on a wonderland
Smack just one kiss and I was outta whack
All at once there was no turnin' back
All so far above the brighter star
[Hook]
Zoom, you chased the day away
High noon, the moon and stars came out to play
Zoom, you chased the day away
High noon, the moon and stars came out to play
