How come you didn't mention that basically all materials beneath the upper dashboard are made of hard plastics now ? I have never seen that in this price class.
yeah all these stupid reviewers are all too positive. I have 2020 c class and there are NO hard plastics anywhere. Half of this cabin is hard plastic. Shame on you mercedes and this reviewer!!
I bought an Audi a6 on the review you gave it , you go into much detail that everyone can understand. Tempted by the c class but there's one issue on the burmester system its only fitted to a select number of top spec c300 premium plus models, other premium plus same spec models dont have it, don't know the reason for this. Great reviews!
Chip shortage is one possible explanation. Glad you enjoying A6. You could jump on a Mercedes forum and ask the experts. You could drop this video in too 💪
A6 is a great car had it nearly a year now ,it has the tech pack and comfort & sound, I think it would be a mistake to give it up just so I could have that lovely c class interior, what would you prefer?
Great review. I’m driving one of these for a couple of weeks while my Alfa Giulia is in the garage for a tiny warranty fix. It’s a nice luxury car but with an incredibly cheap feel to some of the plastics and switches. Also, the drive is no where near as exciting as the Alfa but it was the closest car they could give me.
I am concerned with increasing driver distraction and vehicle complexity, both. Most people are already not using their existing systems fully, and are getting stressed by to many choices. These deep menus on display screens are excessive.
With MBUX you don’t have to worry about that. Just talk to the car. It works already brilliant on the A class, so on newer models it will probably works even better.
Yeah working extra and saving money like mad because I don't know what things will be like in the future. I want enough in my account to afford the whole lease or buy outright
The MBUX system voice control will turn the heat on/off and adjust the temperature. And the system can control the windows up/down, the media radio on/off and volume, the panoramic roof open/close, reading text messages/sending text massages. and more just say (Hey Mercedes)
As w205 c43 owner previously, any annoying rattling noise inside the cabin? I loved my car but the build quality, man, i am lacking words to describe my disappointment. Thanks and i really enjoy your review!
Mercedes Benz is over rated! Good exterior designs of course.Interior is subjective though. Built quality is poor compared to BMW . I was once a Merc fan but no longer due to poor built quality . Mercedes is very good at advertising and they have managed to build a cult around their brand . Some people just worship the three pointed star regardless.
Yeah I agree with you. The build and mechanical quality was not the best on the previous C-Class. I had a C300h for a month, on two separate occasions. (Two different cars with the same engine configuration.) The diesel hybrid. This was even in 2015, when they were launched. Drove nice but once you floored it in sports plus mode the gear box would go into limp mode....in both of the cars I drove! You'd have to stop the car, restart it before it cleared. The plastics were quite scratchy and cheap to the touch. I've met others who've had issues with their C-Classes as well. More serious than the ones I've experienced. I think the BMs have stepped up their quality overall, especially with the G30 5 series and the 7 series that Mr Ritchie has. Saying that, this new C-Class looks awesome in and out. I hope they've resolved all the issues from the previous model.
“Mild hybrid” does NOT drive the wheels when the engine stops! It is strictly to spin up the turbocharger electronically until the exhaust turbine takes over, thus reducing turbo lag. It is neither for fuel economy only or anything else other than turbo performance. The Auto Stop/Start is only for when you stop in traffic to meet California emission standards. It actually reduces fuel mileage and wears out your starter. I have a 2023 C-43 AMG and am in the habit of disabling that stupid “feature” every time I start the car. It’s great that the button is on the same dial as the starter. The air conditioning is automatic in mine so I have no idea what you are talking about with your a/c. Might be a UK vs USA thing. Best car I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned done if the best.
Great looking car but it has too much technology if you ask me, how are manufacturers allowed to put that large screen on the middle of the dashboard but on the other hand using your phone is dangerous 😂😂 and is that a 2L Renault engine 🤔
I like the car as a whole, but I am tired of Mercedes having an 'AMG Line' with everything. If I want one with all the bells and whistles, I have to get an AMG Line. Mercedes is supposed to stand for luxury, comfort and elegance, and that's what I'm after. It is not supposed to be "sporty" or "aggressive" in any way. If Mercedes can package all the bells and whistles in an 'Elegance Line' package, with burr walnut, beige Nappa leather, and the upright star on the bonnet, then shut up and take my money. Until then, I'll hang onto my W211.
I replaced my E350 with a new A250 and every time my partner sits in the seat she threatens to leave me for putting her through such discomfort. I’ll never buy another car with such uncomfortable seats again. Pity to hear the C has the same issue.
Maybe I am showing my age but the latest cars are just gadget bins that have no real benefit moreover can be downright dangerous for excessively distracting the driver. This is the only way they can convince you to pay £10k more than their rivals.Take out all the silly gadgets that 90% of buyers will never use and price the car accordingly..Make the Burmeister standard, ditch the stupid Tesla copycat screens and have normal buttons for air con etc.Keep the mild hybrid diesel and the an adjustable suspension.Sorry for the rant.
Having had 3 BMW 3 Series, I looked at the C class. No 6 cylinder, cheap plastics, mad steering wheel, gear stalk which you use all the time is made out of the cheapest feeling plastic ever. Infotainment is even more confusing than the BMW, seat materials from a taxi. Sound system is epic if you can afford it. Nightime lightshow looks great but reflects everywhere when youre driving. Great looking thing though. Ultimately its way too expensive to live with compared to BMW, Audi etc
After driving this car for a week I can tell you this review is biased in favour of Mercedes let me tell things he didn’t mention there is hard plastic around the central console where your left knee rests and that is very uncomfortable and very hard and cheap material for the asking price of this car, the rear seats have less room compared to a 3 series, if you are over 6 feet tall the people behind you will struggle for legroom, the buttons on the steering wheel are so sensitive the driver info on the dash changes without you realising and the economy is nothing as claimed it’s pretty heavy on fuel compared to a BMW 3 Series the ride on the 18 inch wheels does feel a bit stiff on uneven roads too
I'm sorry, the definition of mind blowing of a car doesn't refer to exterior nor interior. But what's hidden under the hood. The ICE and geartrain of this car is still ice age, nothing jaw dropping to say the least. Did you know all the concept of ICE is reciprocating and it's wrong right from the beginning? Yes, it's true. Engines had been wrongly and stupidly developed since day one. Reciprocating concept is not suitable to generate power. In fact it's poor in efficiency. My question is what is going on with the world? Cars are stupid boxes with wheels. These aren't anti gravity flying machines. Should be the simplest vehicles throughout the universe. Why can't we get it right even until today? Listen up Mercedes! Tell your R&D department to come up with something really tangible, really really ming blowing. Until then no Christmas for everybody.
Really? I bought this in June and I'm not impressed. In fact, I regret getting it. My fully loaded 2016 V6 Honda Accord had more features than this car.
@TheMercedesTraveler For one, my Accord was a V6 and I believe it had a better zero to 60. My Accord had rear AND side cameras, remote start on the key fob, real exhaust tips, better android auto Integration, and a few others. The Accord also felt stronger, like it would last much longer than my C300.
@Blue B c300 has full 360 degree camera system. Remote start on application including much more remote features then an accord from 2016. Most modern cars such as audi don't have real exhaust tips, even the new accord coming out does not. Mercedes android is wayyy better then 2016 accord. Light-years ahead. This mercedes has many many features a 2016 accord did not. Too much to list.
You can buy a 4 banger C Class for 50 K and find yourself at the bottom of the heap of Merc owners or spend 5 K more and buy an M 340i and at least your not at the lowest level of ownership and everybody with an E 350 (also a 4 banger) laughs at you. Merc. the car for non car people.

I’ve had a 3 Series - it was nice but felt like a more expensive version of Peugeots and Mazdas I had driven before. My current C Class feels like it’s in another league.
I'm sure there will be an electric version at some point. Also electric cars are getting a tad more expensive to buy and run these days. Ask those who own them Sir. Energy crisis.....Some fast charging points will now cost you as much as 35 - 40 pounds, and you have to wait 35 - 40 minutes for that privilege. Infrastructure still has a lot of catching up to do as a good number of these charging points do not work. If you don't have a charge pod on your driveway or garage, then it's not going to be cheap to run. I've even heard from some of my customers that charging an electric car from home now is no longer cheap. If the government had not intervened with the energy relief package, I can assure you people would be leaving their electric cars at home. Be careful what you wish for....
@@Carfan678 Exactly my friend. Like me, I'm not ready to join the EV revolution yet. Does not meet my current requirements anyway, and they are quite expensive to buy brand new. Especially the ones with over 350 miles of range, which I would need currently if I was to get one.

Not really
100% agree.
Get fined for using a mobile but is fine to get blinded by the various graphics and distractions.
I like the tech of the new C Class, also like the bigger screen too, everything is perfectly done interior and exterior wise
😂 Such an entertaining review. Love it ❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Watched this review before getting the new c300e as a company car. Definitely going for that tan interior now!

Once again, a great review from Howard ;-))...
This particular cyclist was so focused on ruining the shot, he forgot to.
This is on carwow levels, keep up the good work and I wish you great success in your endeavours

Same with my 2019 E Class cabriolet unfortunately
It's a little bit improved on the new one
E class slightly improved too, part of it depends on what trim you get.

I am convinced 👍
Quite an upgrade compared to the previous model. Will be interesting to see how this stacks up with the updated BMW 3 series.
I love the styling of the merc but from what I’ve heard the 3 series has better driving experience. Not sure which I would choose.

Nop np more engines Renault...by the way is a good engines..
Of course renault engine
No only 180 have renault motor
Renault engine is only for the 1.5 diesel on the A classes 2018 above
Test drove it yesterday, its soul less, too many screens not enough nice materials. Will be irrelevant in a couple of years

Nicely said. They haven’t had an elegance line since 2017.
What I’m reading here is “I can’t afford a Mercedes so I’m going to be a Karen about them…”
@Frankie5Angels150 I can afford but I chose lexus because merc is just too flashy and too gimmicky for me. Hard plastics and fake exhaust don't help.
So much technology that it even transports you from the roundabout on Moredon Road to another one at Haydon Wick in a split second!… Local knowledge 😀
LOL strong creative.
