I am concerned with increasing driver distraction and vehicle complexity, both. Most people are already not using their existing systems fully, and are getting stressed by to many choices. These deep menus on display screens are excessive.

With MBUX you don’t have to worry about that. Just talk to the car. It works already brilliant on the A class, so on newer models it will probably works even better.

I bought an Audi a6 on the review you gave it , you go into much detail that everyone can understand. Tempted by the c class but there's one issue on the burmester system its only fitted to a select number of top spec c300 premium plus models, other premium plus same spec models dont have it, don't know the reason for this. Great reviews!

Great review. I’m driving one of these for a couple of weeks while my Alfa Giulia is in the garage for a tiny warranty fix. It’s a nice luxury car but with an incredibly cheap feel to some of the plastics and switches. Also, the drive is no where near as exciting as the Alfa but it was the closest car they could give me.

Mercedes Benz is over rated! Good exterior designs of course.Interior is subjective though.
Built quality is poor compared to BMW . I was once a Merc fan but no longer due to poor built quality .
Mercedes is very good at advertising and they have managed to build a cult around their brand . Some people just worship the three pointed star regardless.

Yeah I agree with you. The build and mechanical quality was not the best on the previous C-Class. I had a C300h for a month, on two separate occasions. (Two different cars with the same engine configuration.) The diesel hybrid. This was even in 2015, when they were launched. Drove nice but once you floored it in sports plus mode the gear box would go into limp mode....in both of the cars I drove! You'd have to stop the car, restart it before it cleared. The plastics were quite scratchy and cheap to the touch. I've met others who've had issues with their C-Classes as well. More serious than the ones I've experienced. I think the BMs have stepped up their quality overall, especially with the G30 5 series and the 7 series that Mr Ritchie has. Saying that, this new C-Class looks awesome in and out. I hope they've resolved all the issues from the previous model.

    • @RandomShart
      @RandomShart Год назад

@@maxmorris4562 driving experience is usually overrated, as in the difference doesn't really matter for most people. if you like to thrash your car on B roads then sure go with BMW but most of these cars will spend their life on the motorway or in traffic, so comfort should be prioritised in those scenarios.
The main issue I had with my last C class was reliability. It spent a lot of time at the dealer with problems, usually for electrical faults. Hopefully this one is improved in that respect. Looks a nice car.

“Mild hybrid” does NOT drive the wheels when the engine stops! It is strictly to spin up the turbocharger electronically until the exhaust turbine takes over, thus reducing turbo lag. It is neither for fuel economy only or anything else other than turbo performance.
The Auto Stop/Start is only for when you stop in traffic to meet California emission standards. It actually reduces fuel mileage and wears out your starter.
I have a 2023 C-43 AMG and am in the habit of disabling that stupid “feature” every time I start the car. It’s great that the button is on the same dial as the starter.
The air conditioning is automatic in mine so I have no idea what you are talking about with your a/c. Might be a UK vs USA thing.
Best car I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned done if the best.

I like the car as a whole, but I am tired of Mercedes having an 'AMG Line' with everything. If I want one with all the bells and whistles, I have to get an AMG Line. Mercedes is supposed to stand for luxury, comfort and elegance, and that's what I'm after. It is not supposed to be "sporty" or "aggressive" in any way. If Mercedes can package all the bells and whistles in an 'Elegance Line' package, with burr walnut, beige Nappa leather, and the upright star on the bonnet, then shut up and take my money. Until then, I'll hang onto my W211.

Having had 3 BMW 3 Series, I looked at the C class. No 6 cylinder, cheap plastics, mad steering wheel, gear stalk which you use all the time is made out of the cheapest feeling plastic ever. Infotainment is even more confusing than the BMW, seat materials from a taxi. Sound system is epic if you can afford it. Nightime lightshow looks great but reflects everywhere when youre driving. Great looking thing though. Ultimately its way too expensive to live with compared to BMW, Audi etc

After driving this car for a week I can tell you this review is biased in favour of Mercedes let me tell things he didn’t mention there is hard plastic around the central console where your left knee rests and that is very uncomfortable and very hard and cheap material for the asking price of this car, the rear seats have less room compared to a 3 series, if you are over 6 feet tall the people behind you will struggle for legroom, the buttons on the steering wheel are so sensitive the driver info on the dash changes without you realising and the economy is nothing as claimed it’s pretty heavy on fuel compared to a BMW 3 Series the ride on the 18 inch wheels does feel a bit stiff on uneven roads too

My Accord had rear AND side cameras, remote start on the key fob, real exhaust tips, better android auto Integration, and a few others. The Accord also felt stronger, like it would last much longer than my C300.

@Blue B c300 has full 360 degree camera system. Remote start on application including much more remote features then an accord from 2016. Most modern cars such as audi don't have real exhaust tips, even the new accord coming out does not. Mercedes android is wayyy better then 2016 accord. Light-years ahead. This mercedes has many many features a 2016 accord did not. Too much to list.

I'm sorry, the definition of mind blowing of a car doesn't refer to exterior nor interior. But what's hidden under the hood.
The ICE and geartrain of this car is still ice age, nothing jaw dropping to say the least.
Did you know all the concept of ICE is reciprocating and it's wrong right from the beginning? Yes, it's true. Engines had been wrongly and stupidly developed since day one. Reciprocating concept is not suitable to generate power. In fact it's poor in efficiency.
My question is what is going on with the world? Cars are stupid boxes with wheels. These aren't anti gravity flying machines. Should be the simplest vehicles throughout the universe. Why can't we get it right even until today?
Listen up Mercedes! Tell your R&D department to come up with something really tangible, really really ming blowing. Until then no Christmas for everybody.

I'm sure there will be an electric version at some point. Also electric cars are getting a tad more expensive to buy and run these days. Ask those who own them Sir. Energy crisis.....Some fast charging points will now cost you as much as 35 - 40 pounds, and you have to wait 35 - 40 minutes for that privilege. Infrastructure still has a lot of catching up to do as a good number of these charging points do not work. If you don't have a charge pod on your driveway or garage, then it's not going to be cheap to run. I've even heard from some of my customers that charging an electric car from home now is no longer cheap. If the government had not intervened with the energy relief package, I can assure you people would be leaving their electric cars at home. Be careful what you wish for....
