- Опубликовано: 17 сен 2024
- Here is the full list of check codes we get:
-Transmission malfunction
-Active Steering malfunction
-Cruise Control malfunction
-Drive control system! Drive moderately
-Restraint system malfunction
What was the issue?
- Checked power input to the IVS, and found it to be 12.5V while output was only 7V maximum across all ECM power supply fuses.
How to fix!
- After giving in, took to a local repair shop and they discovered it was the Integrated Supply Module also called - IVM module unit (black and green relay box). Part #12527510638. Compare to $117.31 Shop price.
- 12 volts was going in and only 7 volts coming out. Be sure to check the relay output plugs. Once this unit was replaced the car started right up.
- There are some companies that you can send this unit to for fixing or they are decently priced online.
I hope this helps someone!
check your tramsmission fuse on the front and back also check there is a little black square box that contains about 7 fuses next to the ecu/dme there are all 30's and 2 of them are 20' s one of them is gonna be burn replace it them your transmission park letter would appear them you would be able to start your car.
check your Disa

G,
Good day I never sent this text, Omg I must of been hacked, I don’t drive a BMW.
Is the starter bad? Try jumping the starter with 12v and seeing if it cranks.
Thanks man, you're getting pretty famous on RUclips and that's great your work exceeds anyone else on RUclips A+++
So you really think it could be starter?, bmw can be tricky sometimes, the odd thing is I'm getting no communication with the car computer. But that could mean because car isn't on? I don't know I'm stuck.
BMW 2831 how to change transmission or to put transmission fluid in it
12.22 is a weak battery. All german cars get really sad with low battery voltage. Here is what I would do.
Try and get a jump box and jump start the car, or get a battery charger and charge the battery.
Once the battery is good, we can move from there. Remember that your battery is in the rear of the car. The starter is in the front. You may have a weak battery on top of that high volt drop from battery to the starter.
Can you put your eyes on the starter? Is there any corrosion on the connector?
Like Chris said, you can apply power to the starter and see if you get the proper crank.
+HumbleMechanic Thank you so much for your reply! We did charge the battery and it registered on the multi meter as 12.8v right after charging, we had also disconnected the ibs sensor thinking that it had been slowing draining it before when connected. Still got nothing from the car.
I did go under the car to check out the starter, from what I could barely see haha, it looked good, and I gave it a few knocks as well. I would be happy to try and jump the starter or check the voltage. Do you know how to do that? Can I reach it from under the hood somehow or do I have to hook it up from under the car? I can't find many vids or threads on doing that. Thank you soo much!!
+HumbleMechanic I'm thinking I'll have to remove the intake manifold?
did you get bmw started?? i like to know what it was. thanks
ochoa, I sure did. It was the IVM module which is located under the hood with the main fuses. Opposite side of the intact. You can find this part online and just swap it out. I only had half the voltage going out which wasn't enough to power on the car. I hope this solved your car as well.
Part # 12527510638
check the fuses in the intergrated supply module
just because you have 12 volts ..does not mean you have it when you are cranking ..so that is the first test ,,the voltage drop ..then go to were the cable goes into the starter ,,do you have power at the started ..do you have power at the solenoid when the key is turned ..I think you do ..I think your starter is trying to work but ,,on of three things ,,starter is bad ( you are getting a small movement ) ..battery is bad ...take it out and take it to be tested ( free test ) .... or worse case you have mechanical damage ...your engine is seized ...try turning it at the crank bolt .
Crankshaft sensor is the problem, if you had a 0b2 hand scanner your could reset it and it will start and drive.
look behind the kick panel passenger side and see if there is something there?
I agree they are junk, but it does read codes. I'll test the battery with load. Anything else you can think of?
HOW CAN I KNOW WHICH WIRES TO CHECK POWER FOR IN AND OUT?? I ordered the ivm and still nothing. I ordered it from ebay and supposedly its OEM.
I know its a little bit late. But i just get the same problem on my 645smg. The problem fixed.....redicilous!!!! Excuse me my english, ill try to explain. The + cable is going to the small "house" in the engine, and from that "house" going down to starter. My problem was, that the nut on the screw under that plastic cover was not tide well! :-D yes.....thats it. All day long thinking, wtf going on.
My brother I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart !!
because you saved me a very large starter project, after changing the IVS box with that of a friend I still had the same click-click problem and from time to time it starts up suddenly I said to myself I'm good for a starter and then I came across your help and indeed the bolt of the terminal + under the hood was loose.
I squeezed it and then it started right away.
a big thank you to all of you for your help.
I wish you good
Hi can you help me i have same problem
Where is the integrated supply module bmw 523i e61 automatik 2005 petrol
Thanks
my 2008 550i had this problem... after days of messing around with fuses and plugs etc etc I opened the trunk un plugged the battery ibs wire and boom she fired up.been 2 years still starts every time lol
crazystang69 I'm glad that worked out for you and the car is running again. I've read that some cars had corrosion issues with the fuse box although it was tight. For me it was the IVM module. And she runs like butter again
Replaced stater, battery. Same problem. It wouldn't start today. Waited 5 minutes, it started. It stalled while driving. Got bunch of codes. Turned it off. Waited. Started again. Will try disconnecting ibs battery wire. Then replace integrated supply module.
This is an update. I replaced the black box he mentions at 34 seconds of the video. I believe is the integrated control module. It fixed the problem.
It takes time to connect, you are wrong about the torque drive app.
Hey can please tell what way the problem for your car not to start my car have the problem.
How do i check imput and output? Any videos?
those small bluetooth scanners are junk, you need to read the codes with a real scanner. the fact that your computer says a transmission problem is that perhaps the car thinks it's in gear or not fully in park causing your no start issue. Another thing checking the voltage on the battery is just a static reading, you should be checking the voltage while she trys to start it and see what happens. if there is a large voltage drop then it could be the battery
I agree they are junk, but I'm just running a simple test. I'll test the battery under load, anything else you can think of?
Bullshitkorner some a good but that not special made for bmw

Thank you that was the ticket
so what's the solution!!!!!???
hello there , did you fixed ? if you did please tell me how, I have exact same problem and I try to conect the scanner but I dint read anything.
Albin Lagos I did get this resolved. For me it was the integrated supply module IVS module the green and black relay box. This is located the main fuse box by the engine, opposite of the intake. It was only putting out 7 volts when it should be 12. You can get this part decently priced online and just swap it out. Part #12527510638. I hope that helps and get you on the road again.
