    Here's the latest in Helldivers 2 News!
    I completely screwed up when field testing the Eruptor yesterday morning. After testing the most current version, I can confirm that it has been nerfed badly. There seems to be an internal studio struggle between using stratagems and primaries. We got another New Update aimed at handling some new crash issues. Spitz seems to be gone at Arrowhead, and I have some thoughts on the situation.

      Tru ein all points. Btw, those debuffs for the Divers on higher difficulties basically trivialized every upgrade on youre ship. These things are a problem why the balance feels off. cause below diffs are fine

      Whoa whoa let me stop you there on the whole Spitz is the reason for the review bomb and Sony changes . That's total bs . Steam players review bomb games into oblivion and back for far far less . Don't forget that people left out of Sony's coverage area due to the forced psn link were going to obviously bomb the game also . Spitz just shot himself in the face with how he phrased the post .

      New War Bond is out. Page 1 gun is nice but tiny mag. Suits look sharp but servo assist is a let down. Been a lot of bugs this morning with a ore objective equipment not registering within the zone and the old get in the pelican but it doesn’t work and then it leaves. New suits in the store too

    The Alexus guy "Bringer of Balance" destroyed the game Hello Neighbor 2 by removing key features and then bailed before the release. Had I known he was in charge of balance I would have waited to purchase HD2. He is a real problem to Arrowhead's credibility and reputation. Just google what he did to the game Hello Neighbor 2 and you'll see why this is a problem.
    I had no idea it was the same guy until yesterday. The game is absolutely doomed with this person in charge of balancing who has a notorious reputation for not listening to the players and consistently making unwanted and unnecessary changes until the community evaporates. Helldivers, don't let them do it to this game too.

      Never mind how the AI that aims the damn thing sometimes targets weaker enemies like AT-ST when I threw the orbital closer to the tank and or hulk I'm more worried about.

      I don't mind some stratagem nerfs, let me bring more stratagems. I want more variety because I'm getting bored running the same 4-6 stratagem rotation. I want more slots to experiment and have fun. Can't do much when I need to use two slots for a weapon and drone/shield, minimum one for a big target (laser/500 kg) and one left for taking out hordes or nests etc. I want two more for trying new stuff or variety.
      The primaries are getting boring because only like a handful are actually viable/fun to use.

      @@Sir-Raph If you use the orbital Railcannon to bust a Bile Titan's back armor, a well aimed impact grenade can do the rest of the job if you hit the exposed section. But it can be a gamble sometimes.

      Seriously though, can ANY primary save you from 6 bile titans? Given that there's no precedent for a primary that's highly effective against heavy-armored and large enemies, this one getting gutted is difficult to argue for this particular reason, more so since the weapon wasn't released with the intention of handling said enemy types.
      Which is not to say that there is no basis for argument. It not being able to do what it shouldn't do (kill heavy armor/large-size enemies) aside, it's lost effectiveness at handling what it is supposed to (deal with medium-size/armor) and that (for example, being chased by 12+ hive guards and not being able to 1-shot them) is a considerable problem for an anti-medium primary.

    Said it before and it's worth repeating: The change from Top down "God View" of HD1 to 3rd/1st Person view in HD2 brings the player in to a much more visceral, engaged and intimate relationship with the weapons we are using moment to moment. In God View, basically every form of damage you do is "move mouse cursor to this part of screen, left click, apply damage". Regardless of source, gun, strategem, etc. It may still look cool, but you aren't feeling the rumble and thump and muzzle-flashes of ordinance spitting out of your weapon like in 1st/3rd person.
    In 1st/3rd Person view you FEEL the heart-wrenching 'click click' of an empty mag, you despair when your last few rounds seem to have no effect on an onrushing horde, and you definintely feel the adrenaline rush when you pull the trigger and a big multi-legged creepy crawly turns to goo in front of your face.
    Strategems are nice. Cool effects. But they are like 'magic spells'. We cast them and passively wait and watch the fireworks. It's the Guns! The guns are what we live and die with second to second. Primary, Secondary, Support, makes no difference. When we pull the trigger they have to work and be fun and effective. Because when they aren't we feel it much more keenly then when we are just a floating eye in space watching those silly little avatars get pounced on for the umpteenth time.
    So no, Arrowhead, Primary weapons are not just "the default gun you spawn with". They are what we spend the most time with when spreading Democracy and they need to be awesome as much as possible in their chosen niche/role.

      Amen. The original Helldivers forced players to all be on the same screen, which meant that you were never too far away from your weapons if you died and dropped them. Meanwhile, in Helldivers 2, your team mates can throw you the opposite direction of your equipment if you just got mobbed by hunters. That's usually the best, safest play, but it leaves you without your stratagem weapons for multiple minutes while they're on cooldown, or you need to fight hoards of enemies with a weaker primary, not designed for killing heavy enemies.
      None of those options are fun or enjoyable. There's a negative feedback loop that means players NEED a strong primary weapon to keep from getting destroyed the second someone makes a bad play.
      The alternative, and one I'm strongly in favor of, is reducing the stratagem cooldowns for weapons and backpacks by half or more. If you can run away for a minute and have your strong weapon back in your hands, then suddenly that changes the math on having ineffective primary weapons.
      There's an old saying from WoW designers, that says that "players will optimize the fun out of a game". Right now, Arrowhead doesn't understand that. They're making changes without understanding the secondary effects their changes have on how fun things are. Weak primary weapons forces players to bring stratagem weapons, locking multiple slots with long cooldowns, and forcing players to play more passively to avoid dying and losing their weapon, all in a game that *says* it wants you to constantly be using stratagems and dying because the game is difficult. Arrowhead is pushing design changes that go against what they're claiming they want players to do.
      If you want players to die a lot, stronger primaries and shorter stratagem weapon cooldowns will encourage more risky and fun gameplay. If you want more passive play and involves avoiding enemies and cheesing enemy spawns, then weaker primaries and long stratagem weapon cooldowns will encourage that.
      The most frustrating thing about all of this, is that players *want* to play the game like Arrowhead intended. Accidental player kills are funny, and playing a riskier but powerful weapon is basically exactly what the marketing material sold people on. But Arrowhead can't stand that the Eruptor was used like they marketed their game. Players *want* to play like Arrowhead markets their game, but they're nerfing that play style. I've seen this happen before, with Warframe, and it happens because the game designers resent/hate their players, and the designers don't enjoy playing their own game. Find better game designers.

      Lower mag count is justified on the Sickle (which in theory can have infinite ammo if you play the cooldown properly) and Eruptor. Just not whatever they did with the Eruptor afterwards, now that was uncalled for. Including the Crossbow which took a massive L

      Same, I used it mostly against bots. Had the stalwart and eats (for stuff the eruptor couldn't kill reliably) plus two other strats. It was great.
      Now, not so much.

      My same kit for bot. Made the player a great support\overwatch role for the team. And team roles is what kitting should be about, not random numbers on a spreadsheet

Jive under older generational colloquial context would mean hip and/or cool and would mean something similar to "Fire" or "Gucci" in more modern slang. What he's shooting for with this usage of the word vibe would be something a kin to "Slap" or whatever you kids gawk on about these days. I at least consider myself an Early Access Millennial (born in the 80's) so there's so much slang being flung about I don't get anymore.

      Pretty sure they expect us to use our brains too. Chargers get killed in seconds several different ways and if you let 6 bile titans spawn and group that's kinda your own issue but still not even that tough to kill when you consider 2 clean head shots from most heavy armor stratagems can deal with them.

    I’ve never had a game change so many little things every update to where I feel like I will never know what the gun in my hands actually does I work ALOT so when I finally get a chance to play I want to use the guns I’m having FUN with but every time I’m on there’s nerfs and buffs making my loadout useless again or they break the game again and I crash again. I’m an easy man to please give me big booms and powerful guns don’t change things I’m facing ai trust me the bugs and robots will not email you complaints about how my guns are unfair.

      It’s more so about the fact that they’re nerfing stuff that DOESN’T need nerfing, instead of shitting on the weapons that everyone is using/enjoying they need to focus on all the least played/weaker weapons so they become more VIABLE and have more of a weapon rotation in between Missions across all Squads and operations. Just my opinion I know plenty of the weapons in my armory that have sat there since day 1.

      @@icata12345 the changes they made to the assault rifle were an absolute win, just has a very small clip now but other than that ive taken it on multiple dives and not regretted that choice at all.

      I have a weird feeling they nerf these gun on purpose for us to feel more incline to use the new war bond weapons, and soon find out it more useful. (Could be a stretch idk), they’ll probably nerf the weapon after, hence rinse and repeat.

      Nope. The guy who's currently in charge of balance was also on the Hello Neighbor 2 dev team. He had a bunch of features removed, ignored player feedback entirely, and bounced before the game fully released and flopped. He's just bad at his job. He doesn't know what he wants, and he makes it everyone else's problem.

    All these weapons nerfs just don't feel good, especially when we save supercredits to buy each and every one of these warbonds that end up having most their weapons nerfed into the ground.

      So far Steeled Veterans and Helldivers Mobilize going strong. Except for the Slugger, Liberator Concussive still being bad, frankly the weapons on these two warbonds are good. Senator and Dominator got overall net buffs too. Sbreaker S&P is still bad compared to Breaker Incendiary that being said.

    The balance changes feel especially bad when people PAY REAL MONEY for something they thought was cool, only to have the properties of the weapon fundamentally change. That's what has happened to the Eruptor. And to their note about "using stratagems for the big guys", they have stratagems for small guys as well. If the player wants to being a primary for big things and stratagems for small things, that should be up to them. Why limit the play styles if it works, just because it wasn't what you intended? If it's fun and interesting, it's good.

      Honestly, I'd be on board with that. The mission timers are responsible for some of the "feel" of the game, I know, but I honestly wish we could take more time and be more strategic about turtling up to handle waves.
      Maybe have side missions, gem spots, and even patrol kills add a bit of time to the timer if you complete them successfully?

      The ONLY thing that I can think of is so niche, it's hardly worth mentioning. But if you're aiming down sights and you fire the last round or second to last round and you hit reload as your character starts the animation to arm and chamber the next round, you'll actually reload AND chamber in a new round simultaneously. I don't know how long that will be in for, but it, at best, cuts down on your firing lag time if you're able to keep track of your shots. That's not something to justify the inhumanities done to it, but it is something no other gun has. The other side to that is that it's more forgiving on that reload. I've had issues with the Dominator where I go to reload, get interrupted, go to finish the reload, fire 1 shot, and then my character reloads again. I don't know why (beyond potentially my reload button mashing but that wouldn't make sense because I never stim after getting interrupted with that.) My point being that the Eruptor will let you rearm and reload simultaneously and it shouldn't, in my experience, shaft you and try to force multi reload on you.

      I think you are making a rather funny generalization about them "nerfing the good weapons after players buy them". Everyone seems to forget that the first warbond has always had garbage weapons in it, and they brought them _up_ to make them more viable rather than nerfing anything.
      The energy weapon package was also pretty terrible, and every gun in there has been buffed except the sickle, which they took max-ammo from... which should literally never be a problem with the sickle having infinite ammo if used competently. The plasma launcher got handling and shot velocity improvements while toning down the self-kill radius.
      In the explosive package the grenade pistol is absolute fire, being able to close spawners, kill squishy things behind armor plate and kill 15+ little bugs with a single shot. The assault rifle with more penetration is amazing against all targets, and the eruptor has been stupidly OP and needed to be fixed without invalidating literally every other "anti-heavy" weapon choice.
      The narrative of the devs "nerfing" the most popular guns from each warbond seems to keep coming up despite hard evidence that it doesn't exist... but it sure is easy to say without backing it up.

    The more I see them balance the game. The more Im convinced the original minds behind the weapons have been replaced. They keep completely revising the weapons every time after release. Despite having them ready to go for release for years now. All this content was made ages ago to be drip fed to us and everyone of them is janky from the start.

After going to the steam discussions it turns out that the lead dev in charge of game balance is the guy who wrecked Hello Neighbor then dipped when the game failed.       If they only want primaries to be for mob clearing, then why should the machine guns supports exist? Why should half the mob clearing call-ins exist when they insist all our slots need to be for heavy killing? Why are they making so many heavy, slow firing, primaries stated to be meant for tackling heavier threats if that's officially not what they want primaries to be used on?
      And that's putting aside how half the call-ins literally fail to do their jobs in the store demo videos- like the 500kg bomb doesn't kill the bile titan it's dropped on, the missile pods miss a stationary target in their demo, the strafing runs don't kill half the garbage they claim it's supposed to kill (for some baffling reason the demo is trying to kill a Stalker with it)

    Bro you still have to use stratagems with the eruptor. You have to use a flamethrower or one of the machine guns to kill hunters and fast moving swarms. It doesn’t matter if you can sometimes one shot a charger. It makes no sense to nerf it because it can kill a charger.

    Ive said it before and ill say it again: I don't feel like I have enough tools to consistently take out the hordes of enemies that are thrown at us. We just want more consistent tools to take out bigger enemies and groups of 30+ devastators while our stratagems are on those 4-5 minute+ cooldowns

      The game is supposed to be challenging. You are not supposed to be some super soldier that is undefeatable, you are a cog in the wheel being given weapons and equipment built by the lowest bidder.     Eruptor is absolutely not viable one bit. It is awful in all senses, competing with the crossbow for most dogshit weapons ever. I usually never get salty about buffs and nerfs, but I do want a full refund on my demolition warbond. Everything sucks ass after in-game changes.

    With the Elite spawn rates you can't rely entirely on orbitals or bombers - the refresh is just too low for when you've got 4-5 Bile titans chasing you. The need for heavier weaponry on the ground is there.

    At this rate they might as well give a upgrade system. Heck they practically have setup already. We could use the samples and requisition points to do the boosting.     Eruptor opened up taking Stalwart or MG and still let me have something to put down medium targets and lean on 500kg and Precision Strike for stuff like biles.
    Removing the ability to 1-2 shot Commanders and Stalkers killed it.

      The eruptor opened up the ability to take stun nades against bugs. I can close holes with the eruptor and it was good at clearing chaff. The team play of stunning chargers and hordes was engaging.

    The bothersome thing to me about the Eruptor is that the devs seem to think that a weapon should handle like garbage in exchange for the utility of blowing up holes and fabs. Either that or take up a back pack slot while being a support weapon. But the Eruptor is no longer worth utilizing when it's little more than a bad Dominator with excessive time to chamber each shot.

      Me too man me too. They have no concept that 1 player is NOT 1/4 the power of a 4-man squad. Not even close. 4-man squads face the exact same number of patrols 1 player does *at a time*: 1. They can kill any single patrol/breach/aggro'd POI in vastly less time then a single player. Especially when that single player just killed the last patrol/break/POI and stuff is on cooldown.

      Every new update just removes more fun. They make us weaker, but make the enemy stronger, especially the bots. The result: only a fraction of the playerbase is fighting bots, as it is no fun anymore for most of us.
      It's very sad, as this game could be the absolute GOTY if they just focused on the fun.

    I like the game but it feels rough when every weapon I like using gets nerfed. The Eruptor took me a bit of time to learn how to accel at it but now its gutted. Well, there are other weapons that can still deal with the chaff though. I also don't know how we are meant to use our stratagems specifically to deal with elites when the game loves to spam them on higher modes. I did a Helldive yesterday and landed a 500kg right on the back of a Bile Titan and it didn't even die...

    I look foward to them fixing the chargers. How the hell are they not only taking Quasars to the face with seemingly little to no damage and then going into berserk mode where they are sliding at you after you dive in a normally safe direction. Its like they get faster and stronger and dont even get me started about their increased turn speed while charging after the Quasar hit to the face buffs them.....

    Disruptor launches light grenades, no fancy shrapnel, light damage, large area. If they want strategems to be for heavies make it that, don't just nerf the primaries but tune them for crowd control then make the strategems effective for heavies and not just miss or bounce off.

    honestly the eruptor was a god send when it first came out since the shrapnel could mutalate hunters up to 5 meters away. one shoting smaller bugs, a good CQ weapon, essentially a mini autocannon, and imo not that op, you could still easily get caught when there was enoug bugs because of the slow cycling rate, now it’s really just a worse a-mat or autocannon

      Yeah the slow fire rate, very small mag size, and the fear of being killed by it if you are too close was the balance on it already, I didn't mind half the ammo being taken off since you fire so slowly anyways that you don't really run out of ammo by the time you find a resupply to use, if you make a weapon explosive it better damn feel like it

      I really wanted to congratulate them on making a gun that fit a niche super well. It perfectly fit my heavy armory play style and complemented the flamethrower perfectly. They just had to go and take away the best parts of the gun and disappoint me even more.

      It was never meant to be a close quarters weapon though. The explosion vacuum effect, especially at close range, and the lethal shrapnels (against most noticeable at close range), forced the devs to change the weapon.

    The charger bronco riding comes from someone or the server lagging. It usually affects most of the larger enemies, Titan, charger, tank and some hulks. It was really common when the first game came out when the servers were worse than they are.

It also made helldives a LOT easier because all the big guys didn’t move from that spot so it was basically just trash mobs. Defend missions back then were cake!

    The Eruptor filled a role in our little group, it was fantastic at engaging chaff critters at range and slaughtering small light armored groups with it's slow fire. So you needed to be a bit aware of it's effects and faults. As it stands currently I suppose the intent was to move the R-36 to a medium armor/medium target removal platform. Something that it fails at when compared to it's counterpart the JAR-5 Dominator. I suppose best option would be to narrow down the vision they had for the weapon. Then either improve the radius of the blast, improve speed of the bolt action, or dramatically increase the direct damage in some format. As it stands right now at base values the 275 damage, and 250 fire rate of the Dominator compared to 420 damage and 25 fire rate simply no longer compare with the removal of the previous benefits. - Alas I do lament the loss of the almost 40k bolt gun that let me save the butts of many a swarm chased ally.

      I’ve always used the Eruptor as a utility weapon more than anything and only for bugs. It can close holes from range and has enough ammo that I don’t need a resupply to take down a large nest. It also can take out the sack on bile titans with just 1 or 2 well placed shots allowing my stratagems to reliably 1 hit them. Everything else I handle with my support weapon and secondary. Post changes it still fulfills that role but do agree the gun is objectively worse now it just still does exactly what I need it for

    Imo the eruptor was great i didnt mind the cut to ammo but after the "buff" it felt like a slower firing crossbow that had med penetration and i felt that spark leave immediately. i know it can still take out holes and factories but aside from that play wise id go for the jar-5.

      It's bullsh1t. We did some random "chill" level 5 (normally its 8 or 9) and they did not stop spawning. After fighting for 10 minutes at the spawn point, we just left. No nests nearby, nothing. Just never ending bug breaches while chargers kept coming.
      They destroy this great game and I can not understand why they feel the need to remove all the fun...

    So, with everything stated in the video, in most horde shooters, there aren't just weapons that will work for everything, such as Left 4 Dead (the special zombies will slap you if you treat them all the same). Now, I think the gun changes from shrapnel to pure explosive were terrible, for it doesn't clear up enemies as you would expect or not in a large enough radius. They should keep the low ammo count and fire rate and be back the shrapnel. However, I think there should be a damage limit you could do with larger targets (meaning each target could only be affected by, say, 2-3 shrapnel shards instead of all of them). Now, with the killing of enemies due to the shrapnel and you being close up (for the bouncing of the shrapnel was false), I say keep it as a con of the weapon, for it gives it a reason to be highly damaging. In all the stratagems, the ones with the highest damage potential are often the ones to get everyone killed, such as the barrages and the nukes. So yeah, just bring back the old style of the gun, but with the warning, you could team kill at a close distance. It then means it has flaws or downsides like other weapons with a reason for high damage.

    Whelp, there goes another couple of my loadouts. The Eruptor + MG loadout was a breathe of fresh air and really fun. It may still be viable but it won't play the same as before.
    You could essentially be a crowd control markmans pre-nerf.
    Recently, just right before the updates, I was really enjoying the "Clusterfuck" loadout: Eruptor + Air-Burst Rocket + Clusterbomb Eagle strike + EAT. It was all about having different levels of cluster explosions to deal with different scenarios, and then also having the EAT in my backpocket should I need to take out an Elite. Clusterbombs for very large groups, Air-burst rockets for medium to large groups, and the Eruptor to supplement and deal with enemies on a more frequent basis. I had to learn how to fight in the back while also keeping track of ally positions in order to avoid friendly damage.
    Imo managing friendly fire should not be centered around how the weapons play, but should come down to the players. You can learn to fight as part of a team and minimize friendly fire, or you can be a liability to the team vy being careless. It should be a skill, otherwise why bother putting it in the game?

    The Eruptor... at least before it had some teeth. Now it's just a gun that handles like you're a concussed drunk, reloads like you're telling each round a bedtime story, skips off terrain when you're aiming for a ground detonation and always feels like it's damage to friendly radius is bigger than the size of the damage to enemy radius. Before it at least had the damage, now its usp is it's a primary that closes bugholes I guess? Don't know why they're called Arrowhead as they seem to keep shooting themselves in the foot with these balance changes.

    They need to bring back the Eruptor shrapnel, end of story. There is no reason to remove it as it was super fun to use even though it really doesn't do well with large groups, as it fires too slowly, has only 5 rounds In a mag, and now only has 6 mags.
    Oneshotting yourself or a team mate was the best part of the gun, it didn't happen all that often, so when it did, you would get a good laugh out of it... Now it takes like 4 or 5 shots to bring down a Brood Commander for example, or more. My Stalwart set to high DPM can bring down one of those in the time it took to just get the second shot off with the Eruptor, same with using the SMG or most other primaries really, it was the shrapnel that made it worth using. Even with the damage buff, it doesn't feel good to use anymore, it doesn't kil things nearly as quickly, and sure it could have oneshot a charger, I have a clip on my clips channel of just that, but it was quite rare, and most of the time it still took 3 or 4 shots to bring one down, and that involves getting behind it, taking up valuable time and you still needed to avoid being trampled by it, sometimes while being swarmed, so I felt like it's ability to do that was more then balanced.
    Seriously they need to quit treating it like a PVP game, I didn't buy the game to have all the aspects of a PVP game
    , while playing a PVE game. Bring out the weapons, if they are fun but not super overpowered to where you just stroll through the bugs or bots with ease like the old rail gun or arc thrower, then it should be left alone. Basically ruined my favorite weapon, the most fun weapon for me in the game, not because it was too good, far from that, but the occasional oneshot of a brood Commander, seeing it vanish in a cloud of its own guts and blood, taking down several enemies at once due to the shrapnel, and even hitting myself or my team mates once in a while, all was really fun, now it is a lot less existing to get into that hellpod and fight...

    My brother and my friend defend the Nerfs but I tell it like this the game should be fun to play this is not a PVP multiplayer nor is it a PVE one you want the guns to feel good while you destroy enemies, not the other way around so why take that away from players? why make it balance when there should be none at all? why are they forcing players to pick the flavor of the week at this point (not even a month at this point) before things get nerfed this is a big problem and give it enough time folks will flat-out quit the game no matter how many new guns you add or stratagems you add players will already know the fun has an expiration date.

      @@ganjatrooper7193 The game was pretty brain dead easy even on helldive as a solo for the first month or two. For helldivers one I don't remember going past level 7 most the time I was playing because it was just too difficult as a solo.
      I'm potentially a yes man because nothing they've done has really affected me in a meaningful way other then the railgun nerf. It caused other guns to be more or less viable in different situations which did make the game more fun. It wasn't just breaker / railgun / shield / 500kg or railcannon and tesla tower or emp mortar.
      As for the player base most of them follow the major order and most of the orders have been terminind. Also terminind are just easier and almost brain dead to fight, automatons need to be fought differently. You need to use cover, break off from engagements since they spawn reinforcements faster and play more tactically. A lot of people get frustrated at clankers because they try to fight in open fields or rush head on and get mad when they eat rockets or tank rounds to the face and die.

    Since the changes to the eruptor I myself have altered my normal loadout, I'm quite liking the blitzer as a primary now and using the autocannon to replace the utility the erputor was bringing me. Blitzer has enough cc and dmg to deal with swarms without a backpack and the autocannon is well the autocannon :D

      Yep, a lot of people switching to the blitzer meaning almost guaranteed it will get a nerf based on the influx of people using it. That’s how they are

      The nerf ruined one of my playstyles of running the stalwart and a supply pack, having my primary and support weapon switch roles, it's been rough trying to take down things like brood commanders and hive guards, also note, why remove shrapnel when the weapon description clearly says it uses shrapnel, that's false advertising at this point

    They just had to add a reduction to the shrapnel’s speed and damage in function of the distance, Eruptor is supposed to be used in medium to long range because otherwise the shrapnel could kill you. They completely removed the gun’s only charm.

    IMO they nerf the “meta” weapons so that we buy the new warbonds. I’ve noticed that the dev team loads the nerf guns about a week or two before the new warbonds drop.

      a meta is unavoidable. some things will always be more efficient then others and players will inevitably gravitate to that.
      because its efficient.
      some players may choose to stray from that, and that's fine.
      but a meta is not something you can avoid.
      nor should it be, its not a bad thing its just efficent.
      nobody is forcing you to use shit, if somebody is trying to force you to use their itinerary of equipment.
      don't engage with them simple as that.
      i'd argue nothing should be nerfed in a PVE game, but that's an entirely different discussion with its own pit falls and problems.

    I feel like the guy in charge of nerfs doesnt actually play the game he looks at a spreadsheet sees that erupter does X dmg and enemies have X health then just goes off that doesnt at all take into account you get fucking swarmed by 50 enemies at a time and 5 of them are chargers and 2 titans

    The biggest problem with those 'weapon balancing" is that, depending on the weapon you pick, you're going for a really hard mission, near impossible, to a mere hiking in the woods.
    I did a run on helldive difficulty with the trash tier weapons, boy, i just constantly died.

    Arrowhead are starting to annoy me. The Eruptor didn't need balancing, it was fine how it was. Now its rubbish. I was an Eruptor/ Jetpack specialist and the Arrowhead devs have ruined my fun.

      It was a specialist weapon and already balanced by its small mag and firing rate and awfulness against close enemies. It gave us a reason to bring the MGs that no one uses after the first few levels.
      Hell, make the Stalwart a primary and the OG Erupter a Strategem.
      Now there is no point in choosing it for our very small loadouts.

    They need to increase the reload speed for the Eruptor. If they can't come to an agreement on the damage it should produce per shot, then increase our survivability while u s i n g the weapon.

    I came back to my ship and my trusted explosive sniper rifle the eruptor was sabotaged by command, until i am given a new weapon for my efforts I cannot help in this fight any longer

    If they left the damage alone, and it was just the ammo count. I'd feel it's decently balanced. I usually would take a machinegun of sorts as my support and use that to pepper smaller enemies, and use the Eruptor for bigger ones. But now it's practically effin useless except against mid sized targets, and with the chambering and reload, it's just not worth it. You're better off taking a shotgun or something with consistent stagger. Glad they finally fixed some of the explosive issue where it would fling you into groups of enemies instead of away from the blast.

      That's not how anything works. The servers will make a check and see if you're on the right patch and if you're not on the right patch it will prompt you to download it before you can play.

    When the Eruptor first dropped, it kind of felt like a stratagem weapon. I ran Eruptor/Stalwart and it felt great, lots of options on how to deal with enemies. Eruptor was hard to aim, took forever to chamber the next round, took forever and a half to reload, was very dangerous to one's self and one's allies, but when it hit it hit like an AMR firing sticks of dynamite. High risk/high reward, which is the whole point, right? Now it's an awkward slug shotgun that shoots firecrackers that might tickle the bug next to the one it hits, and that was before they removed shrap. If they want to have the Eruptor viable, make it heavy armor pen with high damage per shot, where it WILL one shot a charger with a hit to the weak spot. Let it be an elephant gun that doubles as an armor can opener. If it won't take out a bunch of bots or bugs with shrap or splash explosive damage, at LEAST let it smash the bigger enemies in the face.

    Just because spitz said one thing out of months of being a cancer to the community banning them for things made up on the spot. Does not make up for him already having the CEO apologize for his prior statement and losing the company massive amounts o money this time. Spitz being out of the cm role is best for us all. Nothing but a toxic superiority complex person treating the rest like trash.

    they want us to use more strategems, but on higher difficulties and with certain Menz within the map, can lead to us not using them. Electrical storms block strategems. The robot jammer blocks strategems. Certain modifiers only allow us to use three stratagems. other modifiers disrupt the accuracy, and increase the cooldown time and call in time.
