That concert set the World record for most requested concert tickets. Over 20 million people wanted tickets for the show with only 20 thousand seats.
Whoa... that's incredible!
I was lucky enough to get one. The whole show was amazing, but Kashmir was something else! The red bars in the visuals at the back had a weird perspective to them so they appeared to arch over the crowd (even though it's on a flat screen), very cool.
I'm a VH guy, but I still think this may be the greatest rock performance of all time. Plant's voice is amazing so many decades later.
JPJ is also playing the bass, with his feet. truly amazing.
He sure is!
Van Halen is my favorite group David Lee era….but Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd, and Rush are the best bands imo.
Let’s Go! This is my favorite video to watch a Reactor See!
Jason Bohnam doing his daddy proud!
As old as they are here...in their 60s...STILL the greatest!!
❤❤❤ Jason sure did his father proud. ❤❤❤
You should watch the entire concert it is awesome. This is why Led Zeppelin are the Goats of Rock & Roll🥰
Led Zeppelin's roots are American Delta Blues, and Robert Plant was made to sing the blues.
Check out You Shook Me, The Lemon Song, and Traveling Riverside Blues, and When the Levee Breaks for starters.
He is John Bonhams son Jason and he is using his father's drum kit!
I'm 64 years old, and one of my favorite things in life was living through the 70's, the best era for music like led zeppelin.
Great reaction, my friend.
I'm 64 as well...my favorite band!
They are a blues-based band. Listen to their early music. LOTS of blues!
They were in their 50’s-60’s in this show! ❤
You know he is close to 80 now. Love it
He and Allison Krause will be performing at Ravinia in IL and Masion WI. In June and there are sytill some tickets available. Both locations are about an hr 45 min away. I think husband and I will go see them.
@dwgrly they are also coming to Nashville TN. I just don't remember the date
Ohh thanks I'll check that out!
My all-time favorite Zepplin tune! I generally prefer the studio versions, but this live one gives a remarkable sound quality without the 'open air' hiss of many live performances & little audience noise. Robert Plant could sing circles around anyone in today's popular music.
The band plays in 3/4 and Bonham is playing drums in 4:4. Amazing and genius. ✌🏼❤️🎶
Nobody drops a beat like Zeppelin!
Peace
"Ramble On" my favorite Zepplin song.
Kashmir was the highlight of the 1977 concert for me. Always been the pinnacle of Zeppelin's catalogue.
Oh the song brings back memories and makes me so happy my mom used to play Zeppelin while she clean the house
All that big wild and crazy sound is coordinated by 4 guys! Masters!
Does Robert have roots in the blues you ask……..YES YES YES. His idols as a young teen were the old black blues masters…..ditto for Jimmy. Robert even tells the story about, when he was 15 or so, going to Sony Boy Williamson…..running into his idol in the men’s room and asking for his autograph. Sony Boy basically told Robert to F*** off…….so as Robert was leaving, he passed Sony Boy’s dressing room and helped himself to Sony Boy’s harmonica. He used that harmonica is Zeppelin…….might still use it, I don’t know.
Nearly every single song that Zeppelin did had roots in the blues. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸
Can't wait for your deep dive into Led Zeppelin. You will be amazed by their versatility. Each band member is a master at their craft (voice, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums). You mentioned if Plant came from a blues background. Well, these guys loved the old American blues and jazz music, and many of their songs reflect it. For example, I think you will be amazed by "Since I've Been Loving You" off the studio album, Led Zeppelin 3. The army of LZ fans will be waiting and watching! Enjoy!
This here! You won’t be disappointed.
Gallows Pole, a Zeppelin infused version of an early Leadbelly song was released in 1970 on Led Zeppelin III.
☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
Thanks for the Led Zeppelin
The drummer that is playing is John Bonham's son The original drummer
" I am the traveler of both time and space "
For this concert is was a keyboard but for the original recording, they had an orchestra bro. Hey can't go wrong with the GOATS!!¡ great reaction
You want to see the drummer play, drummer John (Bonzo) Bonham has a 20 minute drum solo, he played of 200 times. He would do this solo sometime during a 3 to 4 hour straight concert, he beats those drums with his hands too. Greatest drummer ever, & all self taught, you definitely hear him in this band.
Absolutely
Yes, most of the UK bands of this era started covering rock and roll or blues many of them delved into early African American blues from the 20's 30's 40's and 50's. many of these artists had big hits and tours of the UK which inspired the UK bands of the day more so than the US bands of the time this led to the so-called British invasion of the US.
I got a great guy doing a cover of this song, solo, for your cover comparison! Still listening to Led Zep after all these years and I'm in my 60's
Saw Robert a couple of months ago. He is still superb. Best gig in a long time.
Jason's dad always had a gong behind him, he would hit at times when the songs called for it.
The drummer here is Jason Bonham, the original drummer John Bonham's son. John dying is what ended the band.
Lol ya his kick drum is strong..ya he's got good genes
Need to do the whole concert!!!!!!!
Told ya this was awesome!
Hey Big M, I have heard this song who knows how manty times since I was 12 years old back in 1982 and still listen to it every time it's on the radio, or I'm playing it on cd in my pad, and i am 55....now stairway to heaven , i might pass since I'm a little burned out on it, to be honest, but it's still one of the best songs ever written, period !
Same we're the same age my mom used to play Zeppelin and clean house I can picture her dancing around with a joint in her mouth. I had a young man we were 14 years apart😊
What night are the reviews done is it a particular night does anybody know in here I just seen how you do it you got to buy a coffee I think it said I'll go back but I have a few I want to hear but not necessarily Zeppelin exclusively
❤❤❤Robert❤❤❤
I would suggest you watch the live performance from Knebworth in 1979. You can see John Bonham’s amazing drum fills. His son Jason does a fine job here, but there was no one like Bonzo.
Jason Bonham is the son on of John Bonham, led zeps original drummer & is Robert Plants godson. Amazing concert.i tried to get tickets. 20 million applied for them.
Nobody in the world HIT the skin's like Bonham 💥🔥🙏🤌🐝🍀💪
Yes. Their roots were definitely blues.
Rockin gettin the Led Out 😎 🎵🎶
Wish they woukd come to Atlanta. Thats 2 hours from me. I can handle that
I watch a ton of your videos, and I love Led Zeppelin. I'm a little angry this didn't show up in my recommended until today
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
And stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk in song from tongues of lilting grace
Sounds caress my ear
And not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Oh, baby, I been blind
Oh, yeah, mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oh, ooh yes, I been blind
Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Try to find, try to find the way I feel
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like sorts inside a dream
Leave the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert stream
My shangri la beneath the summer moon
I will return again
As the dust that floats high in June
We're moving through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails
Cross the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
Along the straits of fear
Oh, when I want, when I'm on my way, yeah
And my feet wear my fickle way to stay
Ooh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah yeah,
But I'm down oh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah
Yeah, but I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oh, my baby
Let me take you there
Come on, oh let me take you there
Let me take you there
Guess they just did took you there
Jason Bonham is using a 26 inch kick drum just like his late great John Bonham! That's how he gets that power! And yes the original studio version had a real orchestra in the recording of Kashmir John Paul Jones did The orchestration and brought in some sessions musicians on the horns and strings! And John Paul Jones played a mellotron at the midsection of the song so yes they did bring in an orchestra for the recording you have good ears you are right about the horns it wasn't keyboards
Jason on the drums sure made his dad proud I am sure. Jason's dad always played a single bass drum but man could he hit it hard. Not sure how he did it.
What see and hear is what it is. Mind you they are much older and still pull the music out. John Bonham's Jason is on the drums in this concert.
This song live at Knebworth (1979) is with the original drummer John Bonham, though Jason Bonham does his dad proud here.
The band loved the blues since they were teens, as soon as new blues records made it to England from America, they were buying them. These guys were the best at doing the blues, check out live at Earls Court May 25, 1975 In My Time Of Dying, it will blow your mind. Their first 2 albums are really bluesy, some blues in the others too. A great slow blues song studio only, is Tea For One, Plant was really missing his wife & kids. So many amazing song from this band, enjoy this amazing rabbit hole journey, thank you for your reaction.
All in their 60’s here
No negative intent in my previous comments. Glad you are doing this one.
Good kickdrums are a mixing engineer mastefull work
First time visitor to your channel! You are very engaging! Good luck on your channel.
If you like blue and blues rock, check out the live version of since I’ve been loving you and You Shook Me-epic!
Robert Plant age 59..........Jimmy Page is 63....John Paul Jones is 6.1..........and original drummer John Bonham;s son Jason is 42......................WOW
Masterpiece! Hope you can react to “Achilles Last Stand” live from Knebworth. John Bonham’s drumming is insane!
Actually you did hear strings on the studio version. There was both classical and indian
The original studio did in fact use an orchestra.
Trust me :-)
Robert Plant is still touring 🔥
John Bonham wasn't drumming here, as he sadly died in 1980. Led Zeppelin couldn't survive missing any member of the band.
John Bonham used a 26" kick drum. Very large.
Man I hate when I don't get notifications
Van Halen is my favorite group David Lee era….but Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd, and Rush are the best bands imo
Good reaction, I think
What you call an organ is actually a Melotron.
Nah, its just how they mic up the kick drum.
His vocals are much better in the 1979 version at knebworth also they look much cooler because they're young
I think they’re cooler when they’re older bc most old people aren’t that cool
Check out Dazed and Comfused….studio version first!
John Bonham's bass drums were 24 to 26 inches.
Watch Moby Dick if you want to see John kill the drums!
Still the wrong version..there's one with an orchestra.
That's the Page and Plant 1994 tour.
This is the best live version
By the way you should have taken away your modo from the video loll!! We don't shut out Led Zeppelin !!God Bless
Wait what
