Jimmy Page would use a cello bow on his guitar to get some really cool sounds.
My personal favorite Zeppelin song. Just because it is the one playing right now... 😅🤣😂
such a perfect comment !
Exactly!
That's what I always say... The best Zeppelin song is whatever one you happen to be listening to. 🤙😎
Lol, yes!
My favorite Zep tune is the next one. Also when I listen to Led Zeppelin so do my neighbors
This song is like the blues on acid. ❤❤❤
I concur- I've listen to a lot of Blues & I've done a lot of ACID
greatest psychedelic hard-rock blues song ever!!! ...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I 2nd that!!
@@Rayray-kj9cc ty!
Enjoy them , appreciate them for you will NEVER hear another like them !
Classic. Forever. And ever.
they were all masters of their craft.
One thing about Zeppelin…at least up until now: Jimmy Page has been in charge of ALL remasters and remixing of the entire Zeppelin catalogue. It is his and the band’s legacy, and he treats it with utmost care.
"Nobody's Fault But Mine" and "Gallows Pole" 2 more can't miss
I think Robert Plant would love your description of his voice. Spot on!! And yes, their songs are definitely a ride. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Led Zep!!
Before Eddie Van Halen...There was Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin..He was/is one if the best guitar players ever..in my opinion. Thats why I love watching their live performances 👍😎🔥🔥
My favorite band since 1969 ❤
You got it one of the greatest drops in rock history! Drums are thunder Pages guitar is lightening
The sound of the guitar you were curious about; how it was done is He uses a violen bow on the strings! A unique sound for sure!
Zeps remasters were done by Jimmy Page. They hardly needed much remastering because they came out so good. Just as fresh today as in 69.
Yeah, I think Jimmy just remastered them for CD, so that it would sound like the original vinyl, since it seemed to lose something in that transfer to digital. 😎
Many remasters put in WAY too much bass for some reason. 🤨
This is such an important point, because yes there have been examples of remasters which butcher things, but by and large, especially with recent remasters? They really don't change a whole lot, but I think especially people that are younger that are reacting to it, they just read too much into that and they think that it might be significantly changed, I mean like even pieces of the song rearranged around or something.
Jimmy has stated that only albums are worth remastering bc they have the best sound quality, and I agree. A good vinyl and good turntable and speakers/BEST. CD's are clean but sterile -like sitting in an empty box of sound.
PEACE
Jimmys bowing the guitar with a violin bow
I think you'll find that Robert Plant's voice was the most outstanding male voice of the 70s (and beyond). React to the studio version of "Since I've been loving you" and you'll see what I mean.
When the Levee Breaks- Since I’ve Been Living You- Ramble On……. Start your adventure with these if you liked this song
Watch the live performance of this song and many of your questions will be answered.
✌🏼😎🇺🇸
Yeah, what he said. Find the version from the concert film The Song Remains The Same.
yes what Randy said, you will thank him later.
The live version from MSG is the definitive version. It is almost 30 minutes but it is probably the best 30 minutes you will ever spend. I have listened to the live track of D and C many more than any other track on TSRTS.
With a violin bow
Hey guy... no need to get graphic.
Mugs, you NAILED this reaction when you touched on that infamous "Drop" you hear in the song!! LZ was so heavily influenced by the Delta Blues sound and style Plant & Page really showcase it in the first 3 albums. Excellent description of what we all agree is an absolute banger of a Rock song. Checkout the song "The Rover" by LZ? It's another banger!!
It's like we're part of a music appreciation club, dissecting the magic of Led Zeppelin! Thanks for the song recommendation too!
@@MugnifyRTS Warning on that song bro? The Riff & hook on The Rover is known to HYPNOTIZE mf'rs?! Buckle Up buckaroos!
Using the bow makes it emote differently
So true,. Almost like Eddie Van Halen. Used a power drill in Poundcake 20 some years later.
Thanks for the Led Zeppelin
"In my time of dying" is an absolute must! Zeppelin = GOAT Rock Band!
Robert Plant was like 19 when he sang this.
Also, that sound you asked about is jimmy Page playing his guitar with a violin bow.
You really explained Led Zeppelin perfectly! They are all a part of the journey and it’s 🔥🔥
I'm so glad to hear you talk about the focal point of the band and the singer etc,, because I personally feel that Zeppelin is the perfect example of each member of the band respecting the other and it's all all very individual and important and it comes together in an amazing masterful way.
One of my favorite zeppelin tunes, especially the live version with Jimmy's violin bow solo on his guitar...omg!!!!!!!, parents yelled at me for how much I listened to it and how loud lol, and they the ones that gave it to me hahah
Liked the way you appraised it, felt genuine. Sounded about right too lol.
Zeppelin will surely surprise you the more and more you hear it.
Love everything about this tune
HiHi *Mugz* NOT sure if ya have checked out **Trampled Underfoot** or **Ten Years Gone** or **What Is And What Should Never Be** & course ONE of my MOST fav atm **Traveling Riverside Blues** which was originally written & recorded by **Legendary** Bluesman **Robert Johnson** in 1937 NO one ever seems to React to that one anyway yea i have NO **Favs** cuz **My Most Favorite Led Zeppelin Song Is The One I Am Listening To At Any Given Moment** heh BUT this one has just kinda recently came to my attention & just WoW!!! I am SO **Happy** ya are getting into them man to me they are THE Best Band EVER period! **PixieHugz&LuvzALL**
Led Zeppelin is my all time favorite band. They encompass the blues . Robert Plant and John Bonham were like 19yrs old when they recorded this. Let that sink in. And that guitar part in the middle with the weird sound is Jimmy Page using a violin bow on his guitar.
Great reaction. You should do a live listen to Led Zeppelin 1 album.

Check out “Since I’ve Been Loving You” 1973 Live at Madison Square Garden. Absolutely amazing, mesmerizing, Iconic, blues, rock. MUST SEE!!!
The album version is 10x better.
Damn, I forgot to say, you really want to hear him well early on where his voice is very much the focal point of the song, from their first album, and it was a huge hit, check out, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, studio cut. I doubt you would be disappointed.
Great analogy!
Yes sir, I love the waterfall and roller coaster analogies. That's exactly what's going on, but it's just such a fascinating journey along the way.
Yeah Jimmy is bowing his guitar through a fair amount of delay and reverb but he's just so artful at all of that. And Bonham and JPJ were just fucking killing it on the rhythm section. And Plant is just beyond belief.
Rock and Roll blues? Yes. Hell yes.
Mug, I know exactly what you mean and by the way I have seen other reactors tentatively react to a few Led Zeppelin audio cuts or sometimes video, and then pretty quickly go down the rabbit hole. They were just so damn amazing.
Along with Lynyrd Skynyrd, they're probably the two most important acts in classic rock music history.
First Zeppelin tune I ever heard, just after it came out. Still love it. Fifty years of guitar playing later I am still amazed by what Jimmy managed to do with that guitar!
Led Zepplin is the greatest band ever.
Say Hey Mugs, Loved your reaction to one of the craziest rock classics.
When Robert sing this song to the first albun had only 20 years. Like Bonzo. This is one of my favourites songs. Jimmy had play this song before with Yard Birds.
I have this on OG 1st press vinyl (thanks Dad)!
Spot On Reaction
A bow and swept across the guitar strings
Thats why the best covers of Plant singing are done by babes, they're the only ones who can really get that high in their vocal range. Jimmy can make the guitar do anything he wants it to.
Jimmy Page started 'working' on this song when he was in the Yardbirds begore he formed Led Zeppelin. There are a few videos around of him performing this back in 1967. He used a cello bow back then. It is interesting to see how this song 'evolved' over time.
IMO the best performance of this is the Madison Square Garden 1973. That video will answer your questions.
Absolutely 28 minutes of Jimmy murdering the guitar!
I really love the observation that Robert Plant was more like a fourth instrument in the band rather than the central focus. I think that's one of the main qualities that makes Zeppelin songs stand the test of time. They were composed more like classical music that just happened to be played by virtuoso rockers!
Love this. I also often go and enjoy The Yardbirds version.
Jimmy page is the one making that sound
Their debut Album, January 1969
OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW...LOL 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
HEAVY!!!!!
Great reaction, but I enjoy all your reactions…thank you!❤️
Glad you like them!
@@MugnifyRTSthese 4 genuses love the blues & have since young teens, many of their songs are Blues Rock, especially the first 2 albums. They knew & loved James Brown, Page knew him better, a tribute song to James Brown is called The Grunge. Any songs live from Madison Square Gardens (1973) are magnificent, their movie The Song Remains The Same was filmed at those 3 concerts. My favorite live from there is Since I’ve Been Loving You, blues done with soulful passion. My second favorite live is at Earls Court, the MAY 25,1975 version of In My Time Of Dying, another blues song. They will blow your mind with that one too, Page on guitar is so amazing. Another slow blues studio version is Tea For One, just close your eyes & feel the passion. That song is written by Plant, missing his wife & kids, having to be away from them. Plant & his family were in a serious car accident, him & wife injured really bad, Plant in a wheelchair with a crushed leg his wife had a fractured skull. Thanks for your reaction, & I hope you check out much more Led Zeppelin, you won’t be disappointed.
Plant's vocals are important on 90 percent of the songs Pages Guitar riffs match the vocal or visa versa in many songs or parts of songs
What a masterpiece. The beginning shows how dazed and confused is how about the woman that he's talking about.. turn the music in the middle, are his tears and heartache. Then his anger and violence is coupled with the sloppy guitar work and the massive banging on the drums. Danny goes back to dazed and confused with a confirmation of his understanding of who he's dealing with and then the very end that repeats itself like we're going back in a circle again. It is so hard to articulate feeling of such magnitude with music these days.
WOw!!amazing, thank u thank u, I’m sure led zeppelin will sleep much better tonight, knowing that U now respect them, and people say the internet is full of self opinionated clowns?not me , never!!🇬🇧👍😜
Guitar: sobbing, moaning, screaming...
just like Plant
"I need to hear more" Yes you do...
Since I've Been Loving You, if you wanna hear Robert!
Jimmy Page is drawing a violin or cello bow across his Gipson guitar strings to get that sound.
Okay…….. now you need to react to their 29 min. Live version off the album “The Song Remains The Same” 🙏🏻🔥❤️🎸💫
Volume swells with heavy reverb mostly, but some violin bow too on the part that sorta sounds like crickets.
This one got me. Deal me in bruh. Sub lauched ☘️🇺🇲
Also
Check Albert Hall 1970 live
You will hear the raw early days of Plants voice
Black Dog. How can u resist? lol. Written by the Bass player, so watch Live, back at MS Garden.
I remember when it was new.
Page actually uses a Violin Bow
Just to point out and im know all Zep fans know this
Robert plant and John Bonham was 19 when they recorded this
19 years old
Mind blowing
I don't like remastered bc a lot of times you hear things that weren't in the original recording. And it's not things that were there and we just couldn't hear them before. It's just a money grab, imo.
Yes, Mugs you nailed it. Robert's voice is another instrument in the band. You hear him a lot doing a call and response with Jimmy on guitar. Have you seen them live yet? Oh boy, you're in for a treat when you do. Biden's got my money acting kinda funny right now or I would buy you a coffee. But you asked for suggestions so here's another one to throw on the list. It's one of my FAV live performances by these masters and the song is called, How Many More Times, from 1970 at the Royal Albert Hall. I don't think any of their live performances duplicate the album but I know this DEF does not. This is a 20-minute jam session of them skipping around diff genres seamlessly, all sandwiched in the middle of the album version of the song. Don't know if you can do it bc it's so long, but you won't regret watching it. Here's the link, my friend. Peace out.

I recommend you check out Since I've been loving you - both studio and live (MSG 1973) versions are incredible, though quite different.
He's using a bow. Watch the live version
Jimmy Page (guitarist) produced all their albums. Was involved in the re-master as well I think. Cello bow. Cool. Always thought it was a violin bow.
Violin bow on the guitar.
Cello bow, violin bow would be too small.
Nice react.
Hard Blues
They were all about 21 yrs old when this was recorded
Jimmy is using a violin bow on the guitar to make those sounds.
Great reaction!! If you want to hear Robert Plant at his best, listen to "Since I've been Loving you" live at MSG
Plant and Page!!!🤘🤘
..Bonham, Jones
To me the instrumental section is what pure rock and roll is about. Otherwise, there is a special mix of blues parts and unknown parts that bookend the rock part that I find pretty unique. It's impossible to anticipate all the tempo changes.
2:58 Exactly!
Bro you need to listen to the live version from Madison square garden 1973. I was at all the shows.😊😊😊😊
Absolutely about Plants Vocals It was another instrument - Amazin stuff
They were magnificent! Jimmy Page remastered the albums to get rid of any scratchy old recording sounds
John Bonham DESTROYS those drums
6:20 Try "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" Led Zeppelin- 1
A bow combined with Wah pedal to get those sounds.
Check Robert Plant out on The Song Remains the Same and The Rain Song. Live or studio.
YAY YAY YAY!!! **Excited** to see what your **Thoughts** & **Feelings** are on this one **LuvLuvLuv** IT **MyJimmyMagicalWizardBabe** doing his **Wizardry Magic** & again totally puts me in a **Trance** like ALL their stuff does k goin in Weeeeeee...
Nothing brings out the Stank Face like this song. Everyone gets that face.
His (Robert) voice is like an instrument…… yes, that was Jimmy Page’s intention when he formed the band
Spot on guitar but with a cello bow 😮
Bow sting on guitar 🎸
It makes me chuckle, I deliberately look at black men’s reactions because these types of lyrics appeal to men who feal alpha🇬🇧👍🇺🇸Be lucky
you're confusing remastered with remixxed. remastering is creating an exact secondary copy of the master album making it a 2nd or 3rd remaster.
remixxing is altering sound tone, balance or loudness of the different instruments and vocals sometimes even speed variations are done.
it usually creates a clearer crisper sound but greatly different than the original. 😅
Jimmy Page did the remaster doesn't mean that the song has changed just means the sound quality is better and at around the 3 minute mark of this song Zeppelin gave birth to metal! Jimmy Page the original shredder!
I believe the guitarist, Jimmy Page, worked on the remaster himself. It wasn't just a bunch of random sound engineers.
He did
Nasty. ❤😊
