I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get to see more of a reaction from Rollo when he learns of Ragnars death as i always felt they had a close relationship.
1234adebayor you obviously don't understand their relationship, while they had many differences they still loved eachother and both refused to kill the other.
I think he thought Bjorn was joking, he never looked up to see the seriousness on Bjorns face. And don't forget Bjorn kicked Rollo's a$$ when he was like seventeen years old. I think Bjorn is the #1 badass there and Rollo is a very close but aging #2
And he already had taken down a beating by two other guys,.Rollo also had always been a better fighter than Ragnar, the only reason he didn't kill him the both times they faced each other is because he couldn't bring himself to do it.
Rollo is not only the better warrior... he is also the better commander, better leader, and better tactician. Bjorn and his army would never stand a chance against Rollo and Paris. remember their first siege attempt? didn't end too well for the Vikings. they only managed to get into Paris through deception.. and if not for Rollo's quick thinking.. they would have all been impaled on that rolling spike.
yeah the thought was old Rollo vs a Bjorn in his prime one on one. If Armies are to be included then I think the Army that just seized all of Northumbria might have a shot at beating Rollo's french army, but we'll never know will we? LOL
Doubt it. Rollo's always been a beast and matched Ragnar fist for fist and that was with some hesitation. Bjorn only killed some nobody berzerker and some poor bear who didn't even stand up to him.
If we're talking prime Rollo then I agree. However Rollo is much older now and has been living a relatively sheltered, relaxed life the past years since becoming Duke. Whereas Bjorn has likely been training and raiding since then and getting even better.
Necrostrike He matched Ragnar, but you got to remember, that Ragnar was on the 'medicine' and not in the best of health. I would say the fight between them, was a better showing for Ragnar, because he was at a disadvantage, and still went toe to toe with Rollo
Even if the show doesn't fully follow history, they could have taken Rollo to avenge Ragnar's death for the dramatical purposes. Do you guys imagine how sick it would have been if they showed Rollo fighting in the Great Heathen Army? Since Bjorn is going to explore Mediterranean, he would have returned Rollo back to Paris.
so the guy who put everything on the line for a chance of being a frankish noble is going to help those people who he betrayed, just to get his reputation with the nobles and franks ripped apart. Dont forget the english are Christians, too like the frankish while his brother and his countrymen are Pagans in a time where Religion was more important then your heritage.
@@gustaf3811 lol rollo is an absolute mammoth of a man and a beast in battle, sorry man but on this show only heahmund could possibly stand toe to toe with him, and that speaks volumes about heahmunds talent in war

Rollo was smiling but then you see a little bit of fear in his body and facial movements. He knows that if anyone would be able to kill him, it would be Bjorn. Look at his eyes at you will see him twitching slightly, he doesn't look into Bjorn's eyes for long and that is also an indication of a little fear.
He just wanted recognition that’s why when all the Christian’s cheered for him when he won the battle he’s crying he wanted what Ragnar always took for granite Ragnar was just curious and never had a desire of being king but those things just came across his path and rollo lived in his shadow always
Rollo never could achieve anything if not through betrayal.... While betrayal is an easy choice to make, if you want to gain fame, he is far behind the greatness of Ragnar and how he achieved, what he achieved. Ragnar's mind was beyond fame and riches. Even trying to make peace with the Saxons and accepting Athelstan and respecting other gods. He knew what is really important in life and how preacious the simple things can be..... Rollo was always pure force and seeking too hard. So his only way of achieving happieness is in taking it from others! Sad to see that through that he reigns far more than any other Viking ever... But who cares that his son is William? Just compare Willliam with Björn and the others and you know whos badass and amazing!
Rollo's son ( William Longsword) won many battles in his lifetime and even expanded the Duchy of Normany. And was one of the most important nobles in France.
Bjorn works 50 times better when he's quiet, calm and calculating. When he does the 'YOU ARE NOT A SON OF RAGNAR' thing over and over, yelling and spitting and seething, it gets really old quick.
Rollo left bc he was jealous of ragnar. Everyone knows of the curious viking farmer who sailed West. Turned Earl then King of Khattagatt... No one always hears of the brother who betrayed his own and people for fame...
They hear a lot of Rollo's legacy though. Basically every major royal line in Europe has his blood flowing through their veins. While The home of the vikings is small and relatively insignifigant.
Bjorn should kill Rollo after that reaction about Ragnar death Ragnar save Rollo life to many times and every time Rollo betray him Ragnar forgive Rollo.
Why not?? Being Duke of Normandy, having his own lands and castle, married to a Princess as opposed to being in Ragnar's shadow for the rest of his life? Not exactly a difficult choice.
Bjorn beat Rollo down like a dog once already and when he was still trying to grow a beard. Yes Rollo was drunk, but when did that ever make Rollo less formidable?
Mal the Crazy Wolf I think it kind of works for the contrast while Ragnar started with everything charisma, intelligence, strength and looks, Rollo was essentially an attack dog but while Ragnar ages poorly and loses his greatness Rollo only hits his stride later and ages more gracefully
Big enough they didn't have horses at that time strong enough to carry him. Hence the nickname Rollo Walker. In the medieval France maybe elsewhere too, they developed a robust horse breed to carry knights in full armor. Wasn't available for Rollo :)
Vladimir Ironfang Bjorn is Rollo’s son in the show. He let ragnar raise him to keep less drama and some type of peace. Look at Bjorn and the rest of Ragnars sons and you will see what I mean. Bjorn is son of the Bear AKA Rollo but Ragnar is also Bjorns father because a father is not by blood / who sperm, it is by who raises you and carea for you. This show is not based on historical/ mythical stories they changed things from the myth/history so don’t be suprised when the show reveals Bjorns Biological father was Rollo :).
Hispacacciato I think he is to man. It makes a lot of sense. In one of the first episodes Rollo gives Lagertha a strange stare and it never gets explained. todd brown yeah pal real close that's why Rollo betrayed him twice
1234adebayor you obviously don't understand their relationship, while they had many differences they still loved eachother and both refused to kill the other.
1234adebayor wasn't out of hate or anything. Rollo just wanted a legacy of his own.
+Tyler W. totally, he's better off in France anyway in his nice castle with his wife and kids.
totally agree, that was definitely missing
The half-smile on rollo's face when Bjorn says "I would have to kill you"...he's like "sure, kid." :)

idk man, Bjorn's turned into quite the monster. I think Rollo's days are behind him.
Wednesday's Child Not bad, wonder will the series go in that direction.
I'm saying if these two were alone in an arena armed, Bjorn's the one who's gonna walk out of there.
Doubt it. Rollo's always been a beast and matched Ragnar fist for fist and that was with some hesitation.

I wish Rollo started laughing
Watching this agen I now realize he was inviting rollo to avenge ragnar
no he did not, he said if you come with us we will kill u
He clearly says “you’re not invited and if you come, I’ll kill you”
@@alexman378 may be that's how bjorn invite his uncle
@ :59 seconds you see bjorn widen his eyes the way ragnar used to when he would speak
Quite a shame that Rollo didn't actually do anything; I would've loved it if he admitted he loved Ragnar but didn't want to stay under his shadow.
Well thats why rollo supported ivar and hvitserk
Rollo was smiling but then you see a little bit of fear in his body and facial movements.

For rollo bjorn is just a kid
Rollo wasn't afraid of anyone, especially his bastard. lol
Yep, sling a Hugo Boss suit and the correct type of boots at Bjorn and he'd be happy marching into Poland...
Wonder if they show Rollos sons become the crusaders
That great viking army should've went to paris
Rollo would have given "gg" in that situation then.
Rollo is such a great character. Simpletons just cannot understand this guy.
He just wanted recognition that’s why when all the Christian’s cheered for him when he won the battle he’s crying he wanted what Ragnar always took for granite Ragnar was just curious and never had a desire of being king but those things just came across his path and rollo lived in his shadow always

Rollo's son ( William Longsword) won many battles in his lifetime and even expanded the Duchy of Normany. And was one of the most important nobles in France.
If Ragnar was Rollo, He would never betray his brother. That's why Ragnar told Ivar to be ruthless, Ragnar shouldn't save Rollo on his first betrayal.
Bjorn works 50 times better when he's quiet, calm and calculating. When he does the 'YOU ARE NOT A SON OF RAGNAR' thing over and over, yelling and spitting and seething, it gets really old quick.
That's his best Travis impression, it's cringe af.
I don't blame Rollo for "betraying" Ragnar. He wanted to get out of Ragnar's shadow. He wanted to do something for himself.
yeah he could have been a carpenter but instead stabbed his brothers in the back and his legit brother the most.
Um Rollo's legacy is FAR greater then "Ragnar".
no one knows of the brother who* isn't that a better phrasing?
no comparison between rollos legacy and Ragnars.
Ragnar > Rollo
Other way around. Rollo line sires William the Conqueror.
Bjorn is far stronger than Rollo. Bjorn went a beast
Bjorn should kill Rollo after that reaction about Ragnar death
Ragnar save Rollo life to many times
and every time Rollo betray him Ragnar forgive Rollo.
Rolo should of never left ragnars side 😡
Why not?? Being Duke of Normandy, having his own lands and castle, married to a Princess as opposed to being in Ragnar's shadow for the rest of his life? Not exactly a difficult choice.
No way. Rollo needed to step out of Ragnar's shadow. Make his own path.
Do you know who will be Rollo's grandchild and heir?! He did the right thing.
erika Chavarria yes.. brothers should stick togather.. untill ragnarok
bluerisk who?
I think Rollo will kill Eacbert. Acording to history Eacbert dies in Frankia.
in the show Ecbert got "stressed out" and kill him self in his own bathroom 😂
Rollo would've crushed Bjorn
Bjorn beat Rollo down like a dog once already and when he was still trying to grow a beard. Yes Rollo was drunk, but when did that ever make Rollo less formidable?
He would have crushed him if he was sober.
No he whouldent beacuse Bjorn was to Rollo like a son ,and to Bjorn he was like a father that Ragnar was not.
nah, he's past his prime and björn is in his. Beforehand sure but here, i'd say it could go either way.
C Gabrielle
yes but both of them are Warriors and Rollo was to Bjorn like a father figure. So they still love each other as family.
Does Rollo not age? lol not a single grey hair. Impressive.
And yet Bjorn asked why Rollo sided with Ivar
bjorn can kill rollo he is a beast
Yes, nobody doubts that this thirty-something Viking can kill an aristocrat approaching his sixties.
I think Rollo's son William,is the Conqueror
pamela anderson Rollo or Robert the Duke of Normandy. Is the great grand son. An the real Rollo, was big 6'8".
Big enough they didn't have horses at that time strong enough to carry him.
Hence the nickname
Rollo Walker.
In the medieval France maybe elsewhere too, they developed a robust horse breed
to carry knights in full armor. Wasn't available for Rollo :)
Rollo's son is William Longsword.
200 years too early m8
current queen of england has blood from rollo's family as well as from alfred.
Rollo gets punched by his wife :)
yeah she apparently has a mean right jab
in history shes 5

After his father’s death Bjorn is like the lamest character ever. Basically I had no sympathy for any of Ragnar’s sons, maybe apart from Ivar
yea bjorn would win.
I think that Rollo maybe is Bjorn's father, I will have to wait a few more hours to see the chapter 10!
