This final challenge was less "difficult" and more "tedious" because if you screw up a later section, you have to try again from the beginning. Making a really long level with no checkpoints is just an archaic way to create artificial difficulty.
Yes! The wall-kick jumps are too finicky for the speed of those blocks. Luckily if you fall there it isn't an instant death, but my god it's frustrating.
This game makes me so mad. I was literally just seconds away from finishing the level and I fell off a platform making me start from the beginning! I literally almost broke my switch last night. They at least could've added a checkpoint at around the Yoshi section
For the 1st part, the invader hat, you don't need to stack the goombas. You just need to wait for it on the far end ledge ( the opposite side of where you respawn ). Then just long jump to the invader hat when he's on that side. This is way easier than stacking all the goombas and risking death.
@paula not if you just jump off the ledge when it's to the right of you then hurry back up and let it come in front of you. Takes about 20 seconds. And it's to get the extra hearts
1. You can run past the Yoo-Foe (hat invader) in the first section, or, to beat it easier, long-jump from the top of the steps to hit it when it comes close. 2. The Sphynx will give you a Life-Up Heart if you answer his riddle, and it's pretty easy to make it to that point without dying. 3. At the tower of pushing blocks, you can instead stand on top of the rising block with the scarecrow and throw Cappy downward to give yourself an elevator ride to the top and skip the entire section. 4. Using Glydon correctly (diving into a whirlwind and using motion controls to get a boost upward, then never stop shaking the controller to maintain height) can skip three or four sections, landing you at the Bowser painting or even getting you over it to the very end. If you can do that, no lasers and Burrbos or Pokios to deal with. 5. Practically every other section of the level has a heart hidden or in a block that will allow you to regain some of your health, keeping the challenge on the platforming.
My secret is to just stand on the little ledges where the hedgehogs spawn. They can't spawn under you and then you can cover the others very easily with cappy. That also keeps the moving platform much less crowded so you can jump aboard and move to the next ledge fairly easily.
Someone on the Internet You can skip from the gliding section to the bowser fight. 1.Capture Glydon 2. Glide low until you’re almost to the bottom of the first gust of wind. 3.Shake your joycons nonstop while moving forward, and make sure to cap Jump if the game auto-releases you from glydon. Congrats, you’ve skipped the end majority of the level.
@@smarch3912 The secret to the bird part is to either Shake the controller or tap Y which will elevate him. If you Shake the controller just before you hit the jet stream, this will catapult him very high into the air. If you keep shaking during the entire duration of flight, you'll stay well elevated and you can fly past the fork part and even fly to the Bowser window (skipping 4 events).
I got to the electric wire part and I just could not handle the possibility of losing to a beginner's trap after getting that far. Came here to scope it out and laughed my head off when I was already at the end. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!
Challenge: Beat Darker Side again while wearing the Vanish Cap. You can't see Mario for the part where you don't capture something, making it extra hard.
Now the narrator of course didn’t mention this but if you happen to have an amiibo then with enough patients. You can actually generate hearts making the kingdom quite a bit easier.
Also, any Mario Amiibo gives you invincibility (except to lava) and can be used back to back.... its very helpful in spiky fire ring section... or... option 2.... turn on assist mode.... you'll get that level through in 1 go guaranteed...
Just a few other tricks I Learned I noticed that if you pull up on the controllers while flying through the tornadoes you’ll gain more altitude which makes things easier as well also I recommend when it comes to all of those enemies just use a second player and have Mario sit in the cappy will do all the work
Stephen, does assist mode in any way ruin the chance to get the moon for example if you used assist mode in any of the other Mario games it would give you like a bronze star.
SuperCaleb360 assist mode is great, if you want to pass the level with that, the only thing that will be affected is your ego, you still get the moons, you still get the outfits... then when you're done, you can swap back to normal mode...
If you don’t need the extra health you can skip the first goomba section. There is another life bonus during the grass pathway on the left under a sphinx. Also the gliding section is way easier if you just shake the controller to maintain altitude.
Ok so... when I stared Darker Moon I couldn’t even get pass the lava bubble stage. After watching this video I did the run and didn’t get hit once? What?
When doing the Gliding Gecko you can shake the controls as fast as you can throw the first tornado perfectly Time it and you can skip the Hedgehog and the fork level
Surely this is a joke??? I had to complete this game the hard way, through every stage of this challenge and you’re telling me that you can actually skip parts? Seriously???
You can make this level a lot easier by skipping stage 10(forks)-13(DK) at the diniosaur gliding part. When you shake the joy-cons you will go up a little, so you can fly really far. If you only use the first tornado and from that point start flying you can fly over the forks section and go straight to the bowser painting! Make sure you only use the first tornado though, because the others are a bit lower and you won't be able to make it to the painting.
@@mide8845 But extra hearts are precious in the onion boy section... Most of the time, I don't even need them, but it's really easy to lose a ton of htalth if you fall from the top of that section into the lava
I just finished this level. In fact, it didn't try as many times as I thought I would. The hardest part was the bird part, but when I passed it, I was lucky not to die in the DK part and I finished the rest in my first try. Thank you
For the first goomba challenge, I just jumped up to the high part of the steps and long jumped onto the top of the spinning hat. Very easy way to complete the first bit and get the extra lives
They changed it so you get kicked out of Glydon when nearing the Bowser painting. But you still skip forks, hedgehogs(forgot name), pokio(bird), and donkey Kong.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I couldn't finish it without Assist Mode. My take on it is that since I found every purple coin in the game and over 800 moons on my own without a single hint from Toad or the talkatoo (and real moons too- not the ones you simply buy), I could get some assistance for this part, especially when I know people who finished the Darker Side the real way but had to go online to find where some moons were.
Geography King 👑 I’ve never used assist mode and never will, I want a challenge although I’m 9yr old, I’ve been playing Nintendo games since I was 4yr old and always wanted challenging levels (etc) from a Super Mario game and turns out I’ve found two, dark side and darker side in Super Mario Odyssey... Edit:Also congratulations on that without hints or buying moons/64stars
If the purple hat thing is to hard you can stand on the higer platform made from stone and do a long jump you cant be hut by that sawblades this way and its eassier and quicker. And sorry for my bad grammar just wannta give a tip
Just did it after 2 hours of tries, thank you for part 8, which i saw in order to save time learning the correct path. However I have to say that I expected it more difficult hearing people. I found much more difficult the Broodals chain bosses in the dark side. After the bird I did the stages in the first try. The trick in my opinion is only to mantain focus and do not get the anxiety from the idea to start over, most of all in the last part (from the edgehogs on). In my opinion the most brutal enemy of the level is the fear to start over, which defocuses you and let you make stupid mistakes, and it grows more and more through all the level (I think this was intended). Like it and this games in general a lot anyway. Thank you again.
I FINALLY DID IT YAY Tip: press + go to options choose mode and pick assist it will send you to the start of your stage when you lose a life (I would rather be a cheater than u people in my replies calling me a cheater)
I felt that i had to, its not hard necessarily, but one single mistake or badly timed jump and you gotta start all over. The assistant mode is the only way i could make it past the bird and swinging platform part before DK.
Thanks for the nice walkthrough. I managed to beat this myself last night & get my own invisibility hat. Now I’m only missing the volleyball moon anymore!
This was insanely difficult and took me hours and hours of many attempts but I finally got it! This video was really helpful and informative and now I can enjoy the invisibility hat! So cool’
Not to be mean but like, duh. It’s the final level. It’s MADE to be difficult, it’s seeing that you’ve learned how to play the game. You use what you’ve learned from the game and do a final level.
@@vegaapunk. I know it’s suppose to be super difficult that’s just what I said and I know it’s obvious and I did learn from the game to defeat a much more difficult level so I don’t see what I wrote wrong because you make me think that I said something wrong…
Tip: Turn on assist mode. You can do this by hitting : + > options > choose mode > assist mode. Don’t do this if you are in the middle of the challenge because it will reset you. Wait until you die or go back to the beginning. It gives you 6 hearts (but you will start out with 9 as a bonus) and when you fall in lava, of the edge, or fall anywhere else, you will take 1 heart of damage and be teleported not to the beginning, but the beginning of your stage. And if you lose health, just stand still and you’ll regenerate. This really helped me with the fork-flinging one and the pokios. Hope this helps you too! (P.s. this guide really helped me. I used assist mode to save me the pain of starting over. But I couldn’t have beat the levels without you. If you think assist mode is cheating, don’t use it. But it was put in to help and it’s there to use. Thank You!)
Please start my petition to please put a check. Right when you go to the water pipe after you do the forks I died on the birds and I’m so upset I’ve been playing it for the last three days and I’m just done with this game until they at a checkpoint maybe I’ll end up playing it again
The easiest way to beat the darker side is to Turn On Assist Mode. Assist Mode Makes you start with 6 lives. And if you get a life up heart you will have 9 hearts. If you fall over you will teleport back to the previous checkpoint
I’d like to add a few things :) Turn on assist mode for this. You’ll thank me later. Skip the first boss. Literally just run past him. Long jump makes the 3rd part easier. For people who aren’t coordinated enough, there’s nothing wrong with breaking the blocks while you’re yoshi just use his tongue to ignite those things. You totally ran right past the sphinx!! Don’t skip him, he gives you a heart with 3 extra health. Which is good for those who skipped the first boss.
Managed to beat darker side before watching this video but came to see my fellow gamers tell their stories of frustration like I once was. I think I had about 15-20 goes before being able to beat this. The problem here isn’t even the levels. They’re pretty simple when you break them all down in regards to what you have to do and how short each level is on their own merit. The problem in this is that their are 0 checkpoints and this makes the challenge. It’s very gruelling but thankfully you can get 6 lives and they give hearts at certain points. The hardest part is the long nose bird part, not hard because of what you have to do but hard because one incorrect placement means you die and start again, no life lost, just a straight up kill and start again. Smh. I had a tear in my eye when I heard that heavenly music and I got spell out the thank you. You do feel very accomplished once you’ve done it. For sure.
Watching this video helped immensely. Thanks. A couple things I did differently 1. Skipped the first section after I got really good at the sections up to the sphinx. I got the 6 heart that way. 2. Shake the controller for glideon I couldn’t get the hang of the forks, but I could fly over it with glideon and skip it.
PaperMario N64 in the flower road, right after the flutter jump barrier.... off the the left, there's a platform that has another extra hearts container
PaperMario N64 lol... no, i meant the question the sphinx ask you to unlock the heart... lol... yes, i love the mushroom kingdom... the updated look of the "moons" is CLASSIC.... probably the best post game we've seen in QUITE A WHILE...
I literally spent the last 2 hours trying to complete this level. The obstacles are fairly easy but the fact that this has no checkpoints is what makes it hard.
8-11 8: There is a heart on the wall right at the start here on the left, ground pound jump then throw Cappy, dive on to him holding forward the entire time, the do a wall jump off the wall, throw Cappy and keep holding forward then dive and Mario should leap over the ledge, you don't need to do this if you don't want as it can easily kill you 9: This parts fine 10: Good strat, this is better than mine Hope this was useful
Ok, I'm about ready to kill. I just got all the way to Dk, but took a crazy amount of hits as the directional sense was all over the shop. Killed him, dropped down the hole and a barrel landed on my head. About as painful a loss as one can suffer.
14 sections? darker side is comprised of 4 sections, and all the rest are ways to get to and from each section. Don't get adventures and roads confused.
I just did it! As repayment for the tips I will share the best that worked for me: -don’t bother with the goombas at the start, you don’t need the extra life yet -when you get to the poles above the lava you swing on, always take that extra bit of time to ensure that they are just rising when you swing onto them, sometimes I have to wait an extra turn, also because when you drop onto the very first pole you tend to be swinging too much and overshoot, then just press b in rapid succession and don’t lose momentum (but sometimes I’ll wait before going on the last two after the break pole) -for the lava humps I always try to land on a medium one first and then it’s just going straight forward and jumping a lot but make sure when you combo jump that you don’t overshoot the little hump, sometimes I go back a bit or make sure not to combo so I don’t go too far, also when exiting the humps ONLY exit from the tallest one otherwise you might get caught under the stupid platform and die. -next, I’ve realized for the jumping lava blobs, I always back up the farthest away from the one I need to go to so I can get a running jump over to the next one. I also time it so usually the best time to go is when the spiky thing that goes over the one you are in but also in the direction you need to go to that also happens to cover the next one juust passes overhead. Usually not worth the question block heart either, usually I’ve maybe lost one heart and I’ll just use the one in the next stage on the other side of the lava before I untranform from the lava blob. PART 1, more in replies.
-next for the long legs dude, once I cap him I become long and point myself in the corner next to the platform that comes out, and I jump only when it’s come out but I skip the middle platform entirely. Then I expand over the hedgehogs and onto the top one of two moving platforms and get out the top super quick before the hedgehogs can do much. Next I expand till I hit the ceiling and go under the top one when it’s out and when the top one shrinks I can go on top and hit the ceiling real quick and exit, and by this time the stair platform will be out and you can jump onto that one before the hedgehogs get you and exit up, and finally expand tall to jump over the final hogs and expand and exit. -for the swimming spikey part I do what she does in the video but I realized I never use the controls to swim quick when possible so I do one stroke and sink gently to the bottom since ground pound takes too long. -for yoshi just do what she does in the video but I always give the tongue a test flick because sometimes the game has faked me out and it won’t go all the way, so I always make sure to do it as early as possible. -for the garden path, for those big hurdles sometimes if I run out of time I’ll just hang out on top until the garden returns for you, then make sure to get the extra 6 life from the sphinx and press button and get to next stage. PART 2
-for the block stage you’ll memorize it pretty quick but in general just always be ready to wall jump, and mostly just run to be directly under the next rings until you can get up. Easy peasy. -for the lizard dude, just as she said don’t adjust much -for the forks I always make sure I am ready to throw cappy since that’s the only button you really need to press every time after flicking. I always make sure the moving fork is almost to the right but not all the way before going. -now here’s the best advice, for the hedgehogs, I practiced on the first snow platform how to approach an edge so it lets you hang off of it a couple times before I go for some breathing room. Next I hang off the side closest to the camera and try to be close to the hedgehog spawning when they target where they want to jump and quickly scoot away when they actually jump. This way they pretty much all fall off on their own. Just make sure not to head too far left before the platform turns so you don’t trigger those hedgehogs early before you can hang of the new side closest to the camera. At some point it may be so overwhelmed that you want to get up on the platform and just kill the last few. I cannot stress this enough, the platform disappears shortly after it arrives, which is so dumb. Next is the birds, like she said try to center yourself and go quick and accurately up to the cliff part. -donkey Kong just take your time and spring jump or just jump and kill him like the video said, I’ll be honest I only did this part once on my first time, I had life to spare. -bowser like she said dodge and weave and attack the boulders when you need to and alternate attacking blocks to boulders on that one straight section before climbing the final stairs up till basically the end. Amazing, my heart was beating so fast, also only did once and I was grateful for this video END.
I know it's rude to generalize accents but I truly feel like this is being explained to me by Garnet/Estelle and I love it. Very motivating. Especially when you said "we've done it". You sounded so confident lol
Nice job with the horribly annoying hedgehog platform section! When you're playing as Bowser, you can shake the joy-con to breath fire. Near the start of that section of Darker Side, you can get a safe vantage point of the long corridor of breakable rocks from atop a dual boulder shooter just before the triple boulder shooter. Stand on it and breathe fire to destroy the entire corridor, making that section of the level MUCH easier. In the gliding section, you can shake the joy-con to maintain more altitude, which allows you to easily skip the entire fork-flicking section. Before the moving wall section (immediately after dismounting Yoshi), you can throw Cappy, hold Y to keep him spinning in place, do a backflip to the top of the moving platform (keep holding Y), and then shake the joy-con to activate the switch, which allows you to skip that entire section. Lastly, I'd recommend not running right past the Goombas in the first segment. There are plenty of heart containers between there and the Sphinx, which is a much easier route to a 6-heart container. There are bigger skips, too, but these strategies allow you to play through most of the level. :-)
This guide already from the start is just wrong, instead of stacking 10 goombas(if you actually need the extra hearts early, which you shouldn't) just go to the upper platform-.... long jump, throw cap, dive onto your cap, bounce off it, throw cap again, dive again etc.... and you can easily make the distance to kill the purple hat without having to run around collecting goombas. You will gain more than enough distance. After a few tries I no longer bothered with the first heart reinforcement, I just got the one at the sphinx to save time. Only part of this you should really lose a heart or two max is the part with the moving platforms and the little multicoloured turds running at you from all angles. Every other part of the level can be mastered to near perfection without any unpredictability. The most amusing thing about this guide, is that it recommends wasting a tonne of time stacking goombas for a reinforcement heart and then ignores to mention the one on the left of the flowering path underneath the sphinx :P which requires 0% effort. The moving platforms along the lava can be moved along 100% faster aswell, by using long jumps and throwing your cap, or just using the exact same method mentioned above to beat the flying purple hat at the start. If your unsure of the jumping method, observe the 2nd koopa race in the woodland kingdom, the golden koopa uses it to clear a very large jump near the finishing point.
a couple shortcuts ive found - stage one: jump your way up to the top edge of the cliff (on other side of the lava on the left) and then just long jump onto the hat thing when it swings around near you. saves you the time and health of dealing with the goombas. stage two: you can do all of the poles in one run if you go fast enough. jump off the column and onto the pole, then wait until the first three are starting to slide up. spam the crap out of the b button, and you should jump off the last pole onto the platform just as theyre starting to sink. stage three: long jump between the platforms and long jump onto the platform at the end. i find long jumping easier. stage seven: use yoshi for the vertical conveyor belts but leave him at the top. instead of using his flutter jump for the three tall blocks during the flowers, triple jump. the distance is perfect to use a triple jump and its a lot easier.
Thank u for the vid I have been having problems in the lava bubble jumps every TIME I jump to the other lava circle it completely lands on the floor Wait IT WAS NOT UR HELP I JUST KNEW WHAT T0 DO
John Gibson Well, you put a lot of time into completing the story and the dark side of the moon so I don't see why you would delete it. Breaking something I completely understand though
Weird they never mentioned the sphynx at the end of the flower path section. It literally gives you an extra 3 hearts, which can be VERY useful if you are on low health. (On the left at 5:32)
So I give all my tips in another comment to pay it forward, but here’s the condensed best tips from me: -don’t bother with goombas -wait till the poles in the lava are just rising even if that takes a minute before you swing out with momentum and spam b -exit the big lava bumps on the tallest one so you don’t die by hitting your head under platform into lava -lava pools always get a running (swimming?) jump start from the farther side and go right after the next spikey over head passes. -long legs dude just get the timing down so you’re always in the position to go over hedgehogs and up really quick -yoshi garden path: sometimes you might get stuck on top of the blocks and wait for the garden to come back if you aren’t quick enough that’s fine, just don’t skip the sphinx 6 hearts. -blocks always position yourself usually under the next rings and be ready to wall jump -hedgehogs, just hang off the side of the platform and bait the hedgehogs to jump off, just scoot to avoid being hit and get off the platform before it disappears at the end lol -other than that just listen to what she says in video like hitting the rocks alternating the blocks as bowser on that straight part so you don’t get hit. These should save you guys from quite a few deaths
12-14 12: This part is fine 13: You can jump up the platform that's earlier in the section, if you have health take the hit and not be careful and wait 14: This part is fine, like the video says the middle part is pretty hard, you should only get hit there around three times though so as long you are careful in other parts of the Bowser section you should be fine Hope this was useful
why do people call this a secret because cappy tells you when you beat the game there are more kingdoms to explore and the odyssey says how many more moons to get to that kingdom Edit 1: why is there a shadow on something invisible
Bruh I remember the pain of beating this with a drifting controller, It was painful trying to stop Mario from jumping off a cliff The parts aren't that bad imo, just the drifting controller
Man after the octodecillionth time those earlier sections aren't fun anymore, you know what nintendo just no more please. No more perfect runs, no more post game stuff let's go back to way things used to be
I hope they add more like this, if they ever make another of these games. most of the moons were a little bit to easy to get and I for once enjoyed this stage.

U deserve a million bucks for that gliding tip!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
the frustration level and difficulty is on par with darksoul series, i thought mario is supposely an easy friendly happiness enjoyment joyful game...
Nobody ever said said easy
The last levels in Mario games are always ridiculously difficult as a final send off for the game
Ok so... when I stared Darker Moon I couldn’t even get pass the lava bubble stage. After watching this video I did the run and didn’t get hit once? What?
When doing the Gliding Gecko you can shake the controls as fast as you can throw the first tornado perfectly Time it and you can skip the Hedgehog and the fork level
Also, skips Pokio(bird) and donkey Kong. It’s a great skip.
Surely this is a joke??? I had to complete this game the hard way, through every stage of this challenge and you’re telling me that you can actually skip parts? Seriously???
Fr? That's insane
Not gonna lie, the reward is pretty underwhelming. Glad I saw this video otherwise I would be pissed.
danwashere Better than nothing I'm pretty sure champions road gave you nothing
danwashere I love the reward and am trying my hardest for it
It's good for taking screenshot photos.
danwashere the reward was the journey
It is underwhelming but ngl the part where you climb the tower made me cry
I swear who thought the darker side was a good idea
I did.
It's a pretty fun stage. Beat it about 3 times with no guides
@B. v. Alem then why are you on this video?
it was fooking nintendo
Marioblock908
That's nothing. Check out the darkest side.
I hate that stupid bird! Also Nintendo makes it so obvious that you can just skip the first part
In the Goomba section at the beginning I saw the whole path in front of me and I just went around it
Yah but if you beat it than you get extra hearts which in this case, is really really good
E T H A N yes, but you can also get it from the sphinx about halfway through the run
@@mide8845 But extra hearts are precious in the onion boy section... Most of the time, I don't even need them, but it's really easy to lose a ton of htalth if you fall from the top of that section into the lava
OHHH I finally beat this insanity
Thanks so much for this guide. I would have broken my game out of frustration without it!
OMG no joke, Best tutorial I’ve ever had
I stressed when I made it half way through then watched this and completed it, best tutorial
When you get glydon, you can shake when you get to the first whirlwind and skip to the thank you section. You have to shake the whole time btw

What’s asset mode
If the purple hat thing is to hard you can stand on the higer platform made from stone and do a long jump you cant be hut by that sawblades this way and its eassier and quicker. And sorry for my bad grammar just wannta give a tip
Brent Ketels you can skip that part and go to the platformer
"It will be OK --- you are not alone."
Thanks, Satan.
Does anybody live in the bay area that can beat this I will pay you
Jason Dossenbach lol
chesapeake?
assist mode+ buy the wedding peach and any mario amiibo is a method iv'e seen on the forums
use an amiibo to give yourself hearts 👍
I live in the bay STATE. (I beat the level)
I love how the platform disappears at the end of the hedgehog part.
I FINALLY DID IT YAY
Tip: press + go to options choose mode and pick assist it will send you to the start of your stage when you lose a life
(I would rather be a cheater than u people in my replies calling me a cheater)
cheater.
@@kwad9145 stop hating on this guy I tried millions of times in assist mode and I still can't beat it
Cheat
Cheaters never prosper!!!
I felt that i had to, its not hard necessarily, but one single mistake or badly timed jump and you gotta start all over. The assistant mode is the only way i could make it past the bird and swinging platform part before DK.
The enemies don't even ignore you while being invisible. One of the most disappointing moments in gaming history.
cursing at whoever created the triad: darker side, champion's road, and grandmaster galaxy perfect run
OMG! Its Galaxy all over again. No way can I do this. :(
Paranormal Pete Nothing can compare to The Perfect Run (except Mummy-Me Maze Forever from Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker).
Stuart Sisler ikr? That fucking star gave me nightmares
At least Galaxy’s levels had the integrity of being brief
MR DAN assist mode
It’s not that bad
Thank you! I tried it like 30 times and couldnt get to level 7 but I completed the whole thing in 1 time with this guide thank you so much❤
Thanks for the nice walkthrough.
@@TurtlePrimeAnimations you did nothing wrong, they’re just bitter
I can't even get past the swings from the beginning, and when I did I died on the next one and had to go back.
I finally completed it today. I used gryphon to skip a few stages to the electrical thanks
I have been trying to beat this level for like 4 hours
Thank You!)
I agree with you there is no cheating its put in to help players and save dying over and over same parts
You explained this so smooth and you didn't even do any skips 👍👌
like the frog jump glitch that makes u skip entirely or just walk past the goombas or use the glydon skip or the homethrowing cap glitch
They make this sound like The Perfect Run or Champion’s Road. Truth is, you could probably do this first try if you’re careful enough.
i was so excited to collect 500 moons just to find out i gotta do this 😔 i hate and love this game so much. i’m not doing this lmao
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! Bruh I had to pray, heart racing, shaking, frustrated,ETC.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Mario 3D World
Super Mario Odyssey: Ahh sh*t. Here we go again
The lines cappy said at the end were so sad 😢
But thank you for helping me i was raging so much!
Please start my petition to please put a check. Right when you go to the water pipe after you do the forks I died on the birds and I’m so upset I’ve been playing it for the last three days and I’m just done with this game until they at a checkpoint maybe I’ll end up playing it again
I’ve been at this for awhile but I finally did it…. This guide was so helpful for some of those tricky parts. Thank you!!!
I got all the way to the hedgehogs then lost. They put me at the beginning and I was like nah. Screw that. So I'll just try again another day
Same
The easiest way to beat the darker side is to Turn On Assist Mode. Assist Mode Makes you start with 6 lives. And if you get a life up heart you will have 9 hearts. If you fall over you will teleport back to the previous checkpoint
I’d like to add a few things :)
Turn on assist mode for this.
For sure.
I FINALLY BEAT THE LEVEL
in assist mode
Wings and wind is literally impossible. Every time I just get so close but no game doesn’t let me.
Him: stage 11 welcome to my least favorite part
Me: same
Watching this video helped immensely. Thanks.
A couple things I did differently
1. Skipped the first section after I got really good at the sections up to the sphinx. I got the 6 heart that way.
2. Shake the controller for glideon I couldn’t get the hang of the forks, but I could fly over it with glideon and skip it.
i used the frog jump glitch to i skipped the whole level and just went for the city hall
You forgot about the 2 heart pieces in section 4 and the extra 3 heart container in the sphinx in 7....
Where's the sphinx in 7?
PaperMario N64 in the flower road, right after the flutter jump barrier.... off the the left, there's a platform that has another extra hearts container
the question is what kingdom have i not visited and the answer is mushroom kingdom....
Thanks man. Mushroom Kingdom is dope. You should go there.
PaperMario N64 lol... no, i meant the question the sphinx ask you to unlock the heart... lol... yes, i love the mushroom kingdom... the updated look of the "moons" is CLASSIC.... probably the best post game we've seen in QUITE A WHILE...
THANK YOU, YOU HELPED ME GET ONE OF THE HARDEST MOONS IN THE GAME, I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH, looking forward to your next videos
Somehow this guide actually helped me and I beat this second try today, thank you. It also wasn’t as hard as I thought it was.
I literally spent the last 2 hours trying to complete this level. The obstacles are fairly easy but the fact that this has no checkpoints is what makes it hard.
Dammit. I was so close. I wish they would start you out with 6 health. Even with the "shortcut" the boss at the beginning is super tedious.
8-11
8: There is a heart on the wall right at the start here on the left, ground pound jump then throw Cappy, dive on to him holding forward the entire time, the do a wall jump off the wall, throw Cappy and keep holding forward then dive and Mario should leap over the ledge, you don't need to do this if you don't want as it can easily kill you
9: This parts fine
10: Good strat, this is better than mine
Hope this was useful
Ok, I'm about ready to kill. I just got all the way to Dk, but took a crazy amount of hits as the directional sense was all over the shop. Killed him, dropped down the hole and a barrel landed on my head. About as painful a loss as one can suffer.
14 sections? darker side is comprised of 4 sections, and all the rest are ways to get to and from each section. Don't get adventures and roads confused.
6:20 IMPORTANT NOTE: shake the JoyCons and you will make it easily
If you shake the JoyCons you can glide all the way to Bowser's portrait and skip he last few sections.
It doesn't work I'm shaking the joy cons as much as I can and it just won't work
@@lapine9881 it is possible that it was patched, but you can also try to avoid every airstrean except the first one
Thanks for your help on the flying level, I’ve been dancing with everyone for about 25 minutes now in celebration
I keep failing at the lava ball section(section 4)And could it hurt them to at least put a checkpoint somewhere
Bruh Just no i know i hate that part too thats the part where i keep dieing
Yeah that stage is super annoying, I keep getting hit by the spikes
Lol I’m laughing cause for me that’s the easiest part if you have timing. Also if you have the Heath Up heart from the UFO you should be fine.
I just did it! As repayment for the tips I will share the best that worked for me:
-don’t bother with the goombas at the start, you don’t need the extra life yet
-when you get to the poles above the lava you swing on, always take that extra bit of time to ensure that they are just rising when you swing onto them, sometimes I have to wait an extra turn, also because when you drop onto the very first pole you tend to be swinging too much and overshoot, then just press b in rapid succession and don’t lose momentum (but sometimes I’ll wait before going on the last two after the break pole)
-for the lava humps I always try to land on a medium one first and then it’s just going straight forward and jumping a lot but make sure when you combo jump that you don’t overshoot the little hump, sometimes I go back a bit or make sure not to combo so I don’t go too far, also when exiting the humps ONLY exit from the tallest one otherwise you might get caught under the stupid platform and die.
Easy peasy.
-for the lizard dude, just as she said don’t adjust much
-for the forks I always make sure I am ready to throw cappy since that’s the only button you really need to press every time after flicking.
This is the most raging and hardest video game ever.
Edit:I finally beat it when I remembered there was this thing called Assist Mode
Diep Nguyen your not the only one
I know it's rude to generalize accents but I truly feel like this is being explained to me by Garnet/Estelle and I love it. Very motivating. Especially when you said "we've done it". You sounded so confident lol
I just use assist mode, it makes it easier
This level literally made me cry
WHY DIDNT U TELL ME TO SHAKE ON THE DINO FLYING BIT!
Samponsite 23 your comment is 2 years old but them doing it the correct way the game was intended doesn't make it wrong
a couple shortcuts ive found - stage one: jump your way up to the top edge of the cliff (on other side of the lava on the left) and then just long jump onto the hat thing when it swings around near you. saves you the time and health of dealing with the goombas. stage two: you can do all of the poles in one run if you go fast enough. jump off the column and onto the pole, then wait until the first three are starting to slide up. spam the crap out of the b button, and you should jump off the last pole onto the platform just as theyre starting to sink. stage three: long jump between the platforms and long jump onto the platform at the end. i find long jumping easier. stage seven: use yoshi for the vertical conveyor belts but leave him at the top. instead of using his flutter jump for the three tall blocks during the flowers, triple jump. the distance is perfect to use a triple jump and its a lot easier.
Thank u for the vid I have been having problems in the lava bubble jumps every TIME I jump to the other lava circle it completely lands on the floor
Wait IT WAS NOT UR HELP I JUST KNEW WHAT T0 DO
I died at section 8 and I was like "I'm not doing that again!"
Thanks for the video.
i was so angry at this level i was going to delete mario odyssey from my switch
John Gibson
Well, you put a lot of time into completing the story and the dark side of the moon so I don't see why you would delete it. Breaking something I completely understand though
**rage** This level stressed me out, my ears are so hot right now.
Thank you so much!!! I have been struggling with the hedgehog section for a while.
8:28 that disappeared way too fast im using assist mode atleast to get back to that point.
First time I got there I long jumped to avoid the porcupines and stalled on the wall then fell when that thing disappeared.
I would be totally lost without this video. I just beat it after so many tries. Thank you for the guide☺️💗
Weird they never mentioned the sphynx at the end of the flower path section. It literally gives you an extra 3 hearts, which can be VERY useful if you are on low health. (On the left at 5:32)
Did it all and your guide helped me a ton!! I was stuck on the blocks that pushed out for dayyyyyys 😅 finished the rest in half an hour. Thank you 😊
And yes, got the invisibility outfit 🙂
THAT STUPID BIRD PART MAN
I know
WHY IS THE BIRD PART SO HARD FOR EVERYONE IT IS SO EASY
So I give all my tips in another comment to pay it forward, but here’s the condensed best tips from me:
-don’t bother with goombas
-wait till the poles in the lava are just rising even if that takes a minute before you swing out with momentum and spam b
-exit the big lava bumps on the tallest one so you don’t die by hitting your head under platform into lava
-lava pools always get a running (swimming?) jump start from the farther side and go right after the next spikey over head passes.
-long legs dude just get the timing down so you’re always in the position to go over hedgehogs and up really quick
-yoshi garden path: sometimes you might get stuck on top of the blocks and wait for the garden to come back if you aren’t quick enough that’s fine, just don’t skip the sphinx 6 hearts.
-blocks always position yourself usually under the next rings and be ready to wall jump
-hedgehogs, just hang off the side of the platform and bait the hedgehogs to jump off, just scoot to avoid being hit and get off the platform before it disappears at the end lol
-other than that just listen to what she says in video like hitting the rocks alternating the blocks as bowser on that straight part so you don’t get hit.
These should save you guys from quite a few deaths
Uhhhh...... you can skip the first part.......
Nuj 21 how
By literally walking past it.
Nuj 21 Same
@@hlgask uhhh you can skip the whole level by using the frog jump glitch
12-14
12: This part is fine
13: You can jump up the platform that's earlier in the section, if you have health take the hit and not be careful and wait
14: This part is fine, like the video says the middle part is pretty hard, you should only get hit there around three times though so as long you are careful in other parts of the Bowser section you should be fine
Hope this was useful
why do people call this a secret because cappy tells you when you beat the game there are more kingdoms to explore and the odyssey says how many more moons to get to that kingdom
Edit 1: why is there a shadow on something invisible
Bruh I remember the pain of beating this with a drifting controller, It was painful trying to stop Mario from jumping off a cliff
The parts aren't that bad imo, just the drifting controller
Man after the octodecillionth time those earlier sections aren't fun anymore, you know what nintendo just no more please. No more perfect runs, no more post game stuff let's go back to way things used to be
I hope they add more like this, if they ever make another of these games. most of the moons were a little bit to easy to get and I for once enjoyed this stage.
THE SWINGING FOR ME IS STILL IMPOSSIBLE
This is kind of useless now but if you jump on top of the last one without climbing the top and doing a cap jump twice
