- Learn how to collect 9999 COINS in Super Mario Odyssey the fastest way! This tutorial highlights a few fast ways to farm coins easily!

The first method is an easy one to start using early in the game since it's in the Cap Kingdom! All you need to do is find the cap door, capture a frog, and then jump a bunch of times. This is the 2nd best method I know of and will allow you to collect 9999 coins in about an hour and 15 minutes!
The second method is super simple and takes place in the Wooded Kingdom. Even though this method is slower than the first, it's super simple to pull off. Just teleport to the flower field entrance, capture the coin frog thing, and repeat!
The third and final method is extremely fast and takes place in Bowser's Kingdom. This is only available after beating the main game. Find the acorn (seed), throw it in the plant pot, and proceed to speed through the flower obstacle course while collecting tons of coins! If you do it flawlessly, you'll get 180 coins in just under a minute. Doing this consistently will get you 9999 coins in under an hour (~55 minutes).
There are plenty of ways to collect coins quickly in Super Mario Odyssey, but these are 3 of the quickest ways I have heard of. Once you get all of that sweet gold, you can head to the nearest Crazy Cap shop and buy that awesome skeleton costume you've been saving for. If you already have the costume, feel free to buy the other costumes, stickers, props, and power moons!

You can also just redo the Festival in Metro Kingdom over and over again. Completing it and getting most of the coins gets you around 250-300 coins.

For your second method, the frog coin thingy in the wooded kingdom, I think it's a bit faster to go down and up the moon rock pipe to reset the coins instead of teleporting :)
I created a kind of circuit in this area xD It starts with taking coins from the frog (38 coins when ground pounding it afterwards), then take the seed of that machine guy, bring it to the flowerpot which is up this exclamation button stairs (about 230 coins to grab there), when back I jump right down below the platform into the small area where the uproot is, capture it and take the 20 coins out of the grey blocks that are on the left and right outer sides of the wide block on the wall in direction to the flower field. Then I go up again, take the frog again, run it to the right edge where the yellow pole is, climb up on the roof above the entrance to the secret flower field where I spin cappy around me to get another 24 coins (they are hidden at first). In total it takes about 2.30 minutes for approx. 300 coins so like 10 minutes for 1200 coins. If you leave out the uproot and roof section, its ~9 minutes and like ~260 coins. Maybe this helps someone who also can't do too repetitive stuff over and over again like the methods in this video hahaha
@@bamboochaLPPThat's the method I still use to farm my coins. And it's pretty organic as the seed for the bonua area is right beside the Coffer. Even though I don't do the Uproot part (it's kinda slow). So you kill the Coffer = 38 coins + the bonus area 230 coins if done right, and you get 268 coins in around 2 minutes. Also, a few steps from the Coffer there's a moon, which grants an additional 5 coins. So you get a total of 273 coins.
Another good way is to do the Metro Kingdom festival over and over. You get around up to 275 coins in about a minute and a half. I've been switching off between Bowser's Kingdom method and Metro Kingdom for variety.

An idea for the two of you: There's a bunch of co-op 2-player hacks for SMW, among them one where Player 2 can help Player 1 by controlling the enemies (or mess with him, lol).
Just some general critique to make these techniques faster
1. in cap kingdom just to the left of the door you showed us there's about a dozen coins you can get, making the process significantly faster as it just takes about 2 extra seconds to get those coins
2. in the wooded kingdom, grab the moon each re-spawn, and ground pound the frog enemy for even more coin
3. in bowsers kingdom on the way to the vine, there's a few extra coins to pick up. thats just a small thing tho

Also, in bowser's kingdom, if you stop about halfway down through the run, you can grab the moon giving you 5 extra coins, but will add a few seconds as you'll have to realign Mario up perfectly with the 3 flowers to complete the run
It took less than an hour for me to go through wooded kingdom, get the frog coins then turn around, grab an acorn & take it up to the observation deck & grab a TON of coin up in the clouds. Then come back down & start again.
Jskeleton: when you do the bowser kingdom strat, it will give Mario 18 new lives.

At 4:44, I find that it's easier to get those last few rings if you just grab the first two flowers (the bundle of three and the one in the center of the second set for a total of 4). This allows you to run out of the flower speed boost just as you're coming onto the final platform. It's slower than speeding through and doing the ground pound, but it gives you a lot more control so you can get those last rings more reliably. It's a matter of preference though.
Yeah I've heard of that method too! But after a couple attempts, I get the final rings almost every time the fast way :D
The “coin shooting frog thing” is a Coin Coffer.

Thanks for the tips! I’m normally not a game completionist but I honestly adore this game so much that I’m looking for any reason to come back and play. Right now I’m focused on getting every costume. There’s also a trick in lake kingdom. There’s piles and piles of coins on top of a building inside the dome area in the center of town. Jump up there and get the coins, exit the dome into the water and then come back in, the coins have reset :)

A good one that I found is in the Cascade Kingdom! There's a cap door you go through that has a T-Rex and a bunch of those little colorful spike guys, and you just run around as the T-Rex stomping them all. I think you can end with around 200 coins each time.
There is also a glitch you can do where if you hit one of the blocks at the right angle it multplies the coins coming out of it by 8 times at max

If you have a GameCube controller for the switch, I highly recommend using that for the bowser kingdom run, those little ridges the left analog stick has prevents it from slipping into other directions
Edit: also for the Bowser Kingdom run thing, on your way back and forth from the seed to the flower pot, there are 2 crates, there is a coin and a heart in them, th heart gives 5-10 coins I think +1 so you can break those on your way back and forth

I have tried several coin farming techniques, with each one having its own drawbacks and benefits. The biggest drawback for each one was becoming repetitive after a couple of minutes. The Sky Coin Run seemed felt like the quickest method, but I did not time it be sure.
Just got the skeleton suit yesterday, gonna use this method to get the 8-bit cap now. Can't wait!

Also, is it just me or does the metal Mario 64 costume look creepier than the skeleton costume? It looks like Mario has no soul. Also, I would imagine that combing the third method and Bowser's vault would make it even quicker to get to 9999 coins!

There's another way, it's not faster than the bowser method, but it could be easier to get, perhaps.
In the Sand Kingdom, in the 8-bit area, there's the hidden passage with the Moon and 40 coins. If you only focus on the coins, it takes around 15s to get all the coins and back in the pipe. Once you pop out, immediately go back in to return to the hidden area, the coins respawn. It makes around 9600 coins per hour.

For me, its always an unsure time, but the fastest overall, is Sand Kingdom Balloon World Coin Farming. I have gotten so many balloons, and have gotten big streaks, and have ended up with 9999 coins many, many times.

In the wooded kingdom flower field you, forgot to mention going up the beanstalk. You can get a whole bunch of coins up their. Grab the seed go up the platforms and plant it to make the bean stalk grow. Up where peach is standing. If you combine it with the frog you get a lot of coins. Much more than the first method.
Bowser's kingdom method is good but you need a bit of skill.
You need literally no skill to do the bowsers kingdom one tho, all you do is throw cappy and jump a couple times, its really not hard to do
Yep, you get around 230 coins if you include the phantom moons and phantom purple coins. Plus you can grab another 40 from the coin frog on your way to get another seed.

There is a pretty fast way of getting coins in the cascade kingdon. It is a door behind the big stump platform, in there it is a lot of coin collecting!

That’s how I found it too! I kept missing the side moon, so when I finally got it, I saw that my coin count had jumped up substantially.

Actually for the wooded kingdom one you can capture the coin coffer collect the power which is another 5 coins and then post game there will be a robot with a seed grab the seed then go over to where glydon is and there will be a spot where you can plant the seed plant it go up it and then get around another 200 coins if done correctly you would've got around 235 coins

I know that this video was made 1 year ago, but I was playing through the game and realized that redoing the festival over and over again was much faster than going to bowsers kingdom. You get around 200 coins and there is a secrecy area in the first upside down section that gives you a lot of coins.

It's actually a good idea to get any% as quickly as possible, since a lot of moons (e.g. the Peach ones and all of the Moon Quader ones) appear only after you complete the game, so for 100% you need to revisit every kingdom anyway.

Great tutorial! Another useful way I found to farm coins is by doing the jaxi ruins moon. Jaxi runs super fast but you also risk dying and losing 10 coins so pick your poison ig
For the Bowser kingdom one... What if you collect the power moon as well
You do collect the moon at the end, but you can't collect the first moon without turning Mario. If you do, you'll probably mess it up and go off course :P
The moon is just an extra 5 coins but still helps cuz it gives u coins and heals you

Was balloon world not a part of the game at launch? I just got Mario Odyssey, so I wouldn't know, but I find it to be OP in coin gains. It requires a fair amount of skill and playing at the right time of day, but I was able to get 9999 coins twice and then some in less than an hour by going to Cap Kingdom when it had the balloon world bonus. Plus you're not doing the same thing over and over. It's challenging in a fun way. If you just keep playing, then you'll learn where popular spots to put the balloons are. Any Kingdom will do , but I found Cap Kingdom particularly easy
Balloon world was recently released so it was not a method when I made this video. But it's definitely the best method now!

For those who are still looking for another way you can do the New Donk Festival over and over. I collected every coin in the level and got 333, but you can easily get 300 everytime. Make sure you also enter the tunnel that takes you to the secret moon in the festival. This method takes me around under 3 mins to complete as well.
I timed bowser's castle: 180 in almost exactly 60 sec (a little less if you're efficient when grabbing the seed)

The slots give you 40 coins if you hit the coin and it only takes 10 to play. This only takes a few seconds if you practice your timing

Fyi if your good at maneuvering, Luigi balloons are the fastest way. I got 9999 multiple times from a range of 10-25 minutes. It saved me so much time!
To get alot coins in a short amount of time, I just play the Traditional Festival over and over. It takes a little more time then most methods, but you can get an easy 300 coins on several runs. It is best to have full health and be good at dodging the barrels because the hearts you pick up become extra coins. You might get tired of the Super Star song after a while, but if you mute it and/or listen to a different song, it becomes less distracting.

Thanks for the video! It really helped me out. But, I’ll actually not spend the coins on the skeleton suit, or any other costumes for that matter. Instead, I’ll be spending my money on power moons. I just finished dark side, and I need like 200 more coins to get to darker side. Wish me good luck!
