Ford, Chevy, and Dodge owners have no idea that there exists a brand of truck that will require zero repairs (outside of basic maintenance) for the duration of the loan and for probably its life cycle. But the thing is that Ford, Chevy, and Dodge owners still sit there and fight about what truck is more reliable even once Toyota has entered the chat. It's practically scientific fact by this point that Toyota is the winner in that category until further notice, and they know this. And yes I know, your grandpa had a 57 durka durr that durka dee durka durr'ed forever. A few things with that: 1. No he probably didn't 2. He was a master mechanic without a degree, the best kind, and his life depended on it 3. I guarantee you he poured tons of capital into it. Sh*t just costed less back then: especially if you knew what you were doing (see #2).

There's four types of Toyota truck drivers. First, there's the type who baby their 3rd gen Tacos and will freak out if they get a little scratch or dent on them. Second, there's the ones with 600k on them and tear around offroad with them. These are typically 1st and 2nd gen Tacoma and 1st gen Tundra owners. Third, there's Tundra (2nd and 3rd gen) owners who use their pickups for work or just as most Americans use their pickups, but they want something more reliable than a Ford/Chevy/GMC/Ram. Finally, there's Hilux guys who like to mount miniguns and other weapons on the bed. They are often found in west Asia.

I was at the local Chevy dealer yesterday. It's true the 2024 model Silverado trucks come with a heated tailgate. However they also come with a dog and a parrot. This way when you're sitting on the tailgate waiting for a tow truck, you have the dog to keep you company, and the parrot for someone to talk to.
Ford: I'm a contractor and need something heavy-duty but simple to work to death in 15 years. Chevy/GMC: I breed livestock and need a tow vehicle with some rizz to pull up at the auctions. Dodge: I work in a cubicle and could have a Prius, but I need to fit in at the cross burnings. Toyota: I'm a mechanic and I've seen what breaks and what doesn't.

I've had my Tacoma for 13 years ... basically zero issues. They arent the coolest trucks around but the are the most practical trucks ... Good gas mileage, good resale, reliable... as I've gotten older, I've realized that a guy being in debt 50K for a big truck is way less cool than a guy who could pay cash for 10 trucks and yet still drives an old Tacoma.

I owned two Dodge Dakotas, two F-150's, and now an F-250. Wife has had two Rangers (1995 and 2001, the 2001 she is in right now, over 354k on that dang 4.0) and the only reason she has a newer one is that somebody destroyed her 1995 Ranger with 312k on the old 3.0. I owned a 1995 Ranger also. 363k when some dude in a Caddilac hit me, rolling it twice. Keep 'em coming, Billy! Oh and Merry Christmas!

1972 bought a chevy truck for $500.00. Sold it for 800 when went in service. Drove alot of Fix Or Repair Dailys, not that poor to buy a dodge, bought my last chevy truck in 2012, a 2003 for $500. And im still drivin it to this day.
Yeah man those 5.3L Vortecs were good motors and those trucks were just put together well. You see so many of them still ticking along today. I hated the AC system in them though. Sit out in the heat for a few minutes, it isn’t long until you got to rev it a little to get that fan going. Minor gripe really. The next gen was also really nice ran up to ‘07 as classic) and probably my favorite or close…I think ‘96 is the best year for Silverado overall. I can’t speak highly of Chevy past ‘07 though, personally.
All around utilitarian uses? Tacoma or Tundra. Heavy haulers? Dodge, 3500 Cummins or Ford F250 or F350 with a 6.7 power stroke is the way to go for me 🇺🇸👍🏼
The 12-valve 5.9-liter Cummins will forever hold a place in my heart, sadly they don’t make those engines anymore. That is literally the only engine I trust and can vouch for, I owned a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 that lasted me 430k miles with minimal issues. (Bought it with 90k miles on it) now a days American brand trucks are a big red flag. I’ve seen and hear more negative and problematic issues than good. I’d go with the Yoters in today’s world for a truck.

All around utilitarian uses? Tacoma or Tundra.
Heavy haulers? Dodge, 3500 Cummins or Ford F250 or F350 with a 6.7 power stroke is the way to go for me 🇺🇸👍🏼

The 12-valve 5.9-liter Cummins will forever hold a place in my heart, sadly they don’t make those engines anymore. That is literally the only engine I trust and can vouch for, I owned a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 that lasted me 430k miles with minimal issues. (Bought it with 90k miles on it) now a days American brand trucks are a big red flag. I’ve seen and hear more negative and problematic issues than good. I’d go with the Yoters in today’s world for a truck.
I have a 1996 12v with 500000miles on it still runs like a top.
