Ginger Billy, my first fishing rod was a Zebco 33 at age 14. I fished at a pond about the size of the one in your video. I ran out of worms, but a lady living next to the pond was throwing biscuits to feed the fish. I got one that didn't hit the water and made a doughball out of it. I put it on the hook, mashed the release and went to dig some more worms. I came back about 30 minutes later to see the line spooling out of my Zebco 33. I set the hook and found out that my Zebco 33 had caught a 16-pound ,13- ounce, 31- inch catfish. I was using 12-pound test line and had to walk it around the pond once till it gave up. Giving up that biscuit turned out to be a good sacrifice. Sixty years later I still look fondly back to that fishing rod and wonder about the biscuit. I was really poor back then money wise.
You can use frozen corn, or a ball of corn meal to catch catfish and some others. I did it as a kid when my pop was living out in Missouri. Worked well, and lots of folks have a bag of corn in the freezer. RIP pop. Love you!
I started with a zebco 22! My brothers and I were given zebco reels because we were so hard on them. A monkey couldn't screw one up. I still catfish with an 808.

I'm a baitcaster birdsnester, I can cast an old school direct drive baitcaster but can't cast a more modern reel with a spool release worth a damn at all.
I like my 1960's spinning reels most, yes I fish a slow heavy old clicker.
