I love how Trevor sent in a great replay even though he lost. Normally when players send in replays they are on the winning side, so it was really great to see a good battle without truly knowing who was going to win.

Its not that I never kinda finished the entire enemy team, but I guess people don't want to see flex replays but rather close battles. All the custom armies is the best part imo. So cool to see all the unique heraldries, colors, and unique units for each faction. Would be awesome to see the same in a medieval game
I've faced trebor pretty often whenever I get on shogun 2 and for the most part he's practically a god with his rush army, I remember thinking wtf when I saw all of his infantry rush my army and just shred me. You might need a fots army with arty and 3 lines of rifles to stop that😂
Turtling up against a charge with a yari wall is surprisingly effective if you can screen away the enemy archers. It’ll stop samurai as long as they aren’t a sword unit.
That first battle are definitely a massacre, Trevor's teams enemy already have an advantage with those great ninja ambush, not gonna lie, it is one of the best application of ninja i've ever seen, and the enemy team have a huge advantage in range unit, but damn, it is so frustating to see him using his cavalry in the early game and just thrown them like that, cavalry is a unit that should have been use wisely and can't be use for a pitch battle, especially against overwhelming units, not only that, he didn't even engage the enemy cavalry, by the time the very healthy trevor's cavalry flank him, it is practically over

I have to agree, cav should be held for better flanking options and for warding off enemy cavalry instead of rushing it head on into enemies meatgrinder. We have ashigarus for meatgrinding frontal attack. When im making this edited comment trebor had already express his actual intention, but even without him say it i think throwing expensive kisho ninjas with that manner, even if the archers are Warrior monks archer is not worth it. I think their worth lies on stealth flanking unit with bombs.
To be honest, the ninja ambush was not that great as many people think here. Even worse I EXPECTED it cause a retainer usage of the player. I even warned my teammates that there will be ninjas. My army was build rather on a good melee rush rather than good ranged power. As I made rules to have minnimum 4 rangers I took the cheapest Ashigaru Bow crap available XD I placed the archers infront intentionally, because ninjas get with their skill an insanely high charge bonus, which I not wanted to see being used against my better upgraded melee troops. Losing archers was never a problem for me as it was not what my army was built for. Additionally my archers cost less than 400 Koku (currency in the game) while ninjas are 600. He killed 3 archers so I lost less than 1200 while he lost at the end 4 ninjas which is 2400. After killing my archers they didn't got many more kills as their charge was absorbed and for the player it meant less melee power that they lacked at the end of the game. The charge looked cool for sure and they killed alot, but overall it was going by my intention and was not worth it at the end. And my name is Trebor which is basically Robert backwards ;)

No Dachi Samurai have an impressive charge not gonna lie, but Yari Ashigarus can kinda beat any melee unit infront of them when upgraded simply as the spearwall is so strong. Even No Dachis with their charge cant brake well trained Yari walls which is another reason why Yari Ashigarus are best simply as they can beat other Yaris that are insane in defense. I played this game for like 2k hours in Mp and imo the best vanilla rush army is made of Ashigarus

Im assuming loan sword ashi is your best friend alongside with your yari ashi. Tbh i dont really like the idea creating the most zerg Japanese peasant running towards the gunfire or solid infantry but if you enjoy it without annoy others, i take it as a good thing. 7:28 archers are the most important normal units in the warhammer games, melee infantry can't beat any equivalents on higher difficulties so archers are really important, but the general is obviously more important than in the historical ones.
Avatar conquest is the thing that i wish they carried over to subsequent titles. Im luckily one of the few people that has the "There can be only one" achievement, and it sits as my crowning glory achievement on my profile, it was an absolute blast slogging through it, a total rollercoaster of emotions with every win and loss. Warhammers great and all, but Shogun will forever be my favourite, and what i consider the pinnacle of Total War.
This replay needs an award literally taking on 1 player is a gamble and difficult let alone 4 in a blitzkrieg-like strategy. Very very well played sir trevor

To break an army that fast, you need to be hitting the leadership and catch those flanks before they know what happened. I wish my game didn't get corrupted because one night I took out 2 lvl 10 armies while my buddy just sat and played defense. Miss this game but I don't play against Fall of the Samurai.
The loosing army should have chosen those hills, and set up their line at the bottom. Using the woods and hill as a anchor. Then set up some archers and cavalry on them to bait in a response, use ninjas laying in wait to deal with whatever challenges the hill, and then swept down behind the winning army. The ninja were totally wasted, and if they were used properly they would have won the battle.
Either choose your favorite time in history or if you want an easy introduction go with the earlier games. Rome remastered has a good mix of both worlds with updated graphics and ai but still easy to manage battles and cities
Just choose based on what you preferences are. They are all good games. Warhammer 2 isn't bad but it's fun if your looking for fantasy and epic gaming. Shogun 2, an old game bit still fun to play. Rome 2 decent but mods make up for it. Three kingdoms if your looking for a game that's around Chinese historical and fantasy (lords are badass fighters)gameplay.

Yeah, dont underestimate Total war:Shogun 2. These battles tend to end quickly because of the units you got at your disposal. Like we have seen at the beginning where the Ninjas just mowed down some Ashigaru bows. Had some time battling in that game, both campaign and the Avatar battles. And if you are not carefull, you are sure to get your men slaughtered like a meatgrinder. Edit: ESPECALY when musket come into the place.

if you have the cd key you can write to the CA support, they will give you a steam key. I believe steam version uses steam servers for multiplayer and the old pre-steam version doesnt have multiplayer anymore. except local of course.

A game journalists once wrote that Shogun 2 is a game where peasants with bamboo sticks on a hill can be a force to be reckoned with.
With proper positioning and yari walls, ashigarus are dangerous as hell. Those bamboo sticks for matchlock ashi also make them safer from cav.

Well I killed my own army in the attempt to kill 3 armies, so its techincally 4 :P
"Okoń" is polish name of "perch", so the player is from Poland. What is ironic, his enemy is Russian, so it was very historical accurate: D
